[List relocated to the next Matasoga post]
EDIT: There have come to be many changes in classification as time went on, in addition to changes in the rank and number of those listed. Such changes are as follows.
Italicized names indicate that the one named has joined the clan "Fangs of Matasoga," which is the official clan of the guild.
Those who have sacrificed signature space to house the guild banner are underlined.
Names in grey are those of inactive members, that is to say members who have not posted at least once within one month of the update.
EDIT: As of March 8th, 2010, a further change has been implemented.
Henceforth, only those with 100 posts will be listed or will have these calculations applied to them.
First the post count will be considered. It will be increased by 1% for each of the following factors: My being on their friends list, their membership in the clan (Fangs of Matasoga), my banner being in their signature, and their having posted somewhere in the guild in the last month.
Really, it's simpler than it sounds and if you have any questions, I'll be happy to discuss it in more depth. This actually streamlines the process and eliminates color-coding, italicizing, bolding, and underlining, whereas members are all considered under one numerical scoring process.
EDIT: As of May tenth, the bonuses and decreases go both ways. In addition to the bonuses above, there will now be penalties, as well.
In addition to the 1% bonus for keeping Matasoga on one's friends list (which was intended to be more of a gimme intended to help nearly everyone) there is now a 1% penalty for not having that account on your friends list. The decision was made based on the fact that it was a basic requirement for entering the guild.
There is also a 1% penalty for not having ever posted in the main forum. This allows for people who RP (and only RP) to have their post counts acknowledged but not be put in an unduly high spot for only RPing (or engaging in other limited or niche conversation) and not participating in any greater extent or interacting in a more significant or meaningful way.
Those who have not posted in the guild since the dates were included with the last post also have a 1% penalty, as (lets face it) these individuals are most likely never coming back. The decision to leave should not allow them higher placement than their posts merited over those who do intend to be active.
EDIT: As of May 18th, 2010, the following rule was brought into effect:
As a brief addition to the rules, the number of Apostles will not be static, necessarily. There will be no promotions by drop out. For example, recently an apostle left the guild. I don't feel that the position of Apostle should be given by someone dropping out, so there may be less than 12 (as there are now. For at the time of this posting, we have 11).
This will affect nothing outside of the rank "Apostle," and the count will return to 12 (but never exceed it) if the 11th member is out-ranked in points.
EDIT: As of January 10, 2011, the 1% contest bonuses previously implemented were revoked, due to the fact that no listed members expected to return retained the bonuses. For bookkeeping purposes, the penalty for not posting in the main forum has also been removed.
EDIT: May 12, 2011: The Top Disciple (Queen, unless that position ever ceases to be matriarchal) shall be tracked and listed above, henceforth.
EDIT: June 10, 2011: The penalty for not posting since the dating system was introduced will now be extended to anyone that hasn't posted in the last year.
EDIT: As of December 07, 2011: The penalty for not posting in a year has been extended. There will now be a cumulative penalty for each year that the user has not posted, to keep those who have left the guild long ago from holding such high stations as they occasionally do.
In the case that no date is listed for their most recent post, then they are treated as having not posted since December 2006, when the guild was created.
Because the list that I keep is of considerable length and my time is limited, I will only check the list once per month for this particular purpose and round up. It is therefore possible that someone will take a two year penalty after having been absent for one year and 11 months, but it will never be more approximated than this.
EDIT: As of June 13, 2012: Membership, participation, and endorsements of any guilds that are directly and openly adversarial to me or my guild is grounds for deductions, based upon perceived activity.
EDIT: As of August 1st, 2012: Thus is just a small update to be factored into the next update. There will be one additional secret bonus, no bigger or greater than any of the others. If you have really gone way out of your way to be a help to me as well as an asset of the guild, this recognizes your extra effort. On the other hand, if you've been disrespectful, especially negligent, or even malicious or harmful... That too will be recognized. This won't affect most members one way or the other.
EDIT: As of March 4, 2015: The clan bonuses have been revoked, due to zOMG being eliminated from the site.
Meanwhile, donation bonuses and Syndrone bonuses will only be maintained for the posters with over 100 posts, as of today's date, for relevancy and book-keeping issues.
