(insert groan here)I'd say that it's pathetic that less than half the bands on here are legitimate metal bands, but I'd be lying if I said I was surprised.

I was kinda surprised to see a few up there, namely Mercyful Fate and Kyuss, but the rest were pretty predictable.

Stuff like that used to really grind my gears. But it's a fact of life: Some People Just Fail.

PandasRGr1mm I didn't know that Hendrix was Metal confused I think he gets in there for the "early influence" factor. Same with Zep, since neither is really what we now consider metal, yet both undeniably left a big mark on the birth and development of the genre. Still, not a very good list unless you're REALLY liberal with the use of the term "metal".

The War Starter I was kinda surprised to see a few up there, namely Mercyful Fate and Kyuss, but the rest were pretty predictable. Yeah, definitely. I would've been surprised by Meshuggah had this been compiled before "obZen." Every critic I've read has been kissing their asses over it lately.

One could have a similar musical experience by stepping into the engine room of a cargo ship.

There's a lot of people complaining in the comments, and some of them are just as ignorant about metal, as the guy who made the list.

But then again, I agree with hallow. this kinda stuff really used to toast my buns when I was like 14 or 13, but now its just the norm. on almost every metal list you have, its either going to be metallica or black sabbath.
