Alas was still surprised, she had managed to finally leave Agua Azul without any fight, no protests, no running for her life. Most important the burden of a lie told long ago was off her chest. Now Twist knew the truth, and now Alas had her confirmation that Twist was as cold and wicked as she had always feared. She had to tell Crunch now, so many things.
To begin she felt home at last, no longer torn between two packs Alas could finally settle in Akiiki Chibale and not worry about washing the scent away and slipping between the lands. She smiled softly and rushed towards Crunch's scent eager to tell him. They could be together at last, forever!
Joy filled her heart as she thought of it, and once things were settled down...a family of their own to add to the joy of the pack. Things had flourished, Tempeste and Venera were healthy, happy, and growing. Musketeers pups were full grown now and contributing members of the pack. Alas couldn't wait to finally put the darkness of Agua Azul behind her and look ahead.

 Crunch was walking through the border, along one of the water ways, secureing the markers of the land. Refreshing those that needed it, or just simply letting the ones still strong stand left alone.
Crunch had noticed the pack that settled to the neighboring territory and had been making sure that the border was being watched. Mahli's crow cawed in the distance, something that Crunch was still getting use to, even after all this time, but this was a familiar wolf caw.
Moving in towards the interior of the pack, Crunch sniffed the air, the girls were around, and even the love of his life. That must have been the reason to the caw.

Alas caught the scent of her two teen daughters on the air, the girls had stopped questioning long ago where their mother vanished off to, now she wouldn't have to. She grinned as she inhaled another rich scent, that of her beloved mate.
Her ears pricked as she heard Mahli's crow, to her left she caught a flash of black and tan, no doubt Dimitri would soon let Twix know she was back. The fox didn't know she was back for good though, Alas hoped that now Twix might embrace her better, she admired the way the beta loved Venera and Tempeste as if they were Crunch's own. The whole pack had helped, and the girls had never questioned their parentage, Tempeste attributed her orange marks to a throwback to Butterfinger, and Venera never wondered why she lacked the blue of her father. It was possible after all and thus the girls had never questioned it, and they had been so well loved by the pack, growing with Musketeers brood.
Finally she heard Crunch and sprang forward eagerly her tail a wild banner in the air. "My love!"

The sound of smaller paws got an ear to turn and then Crunch remembered Twix's little familiar. He had just as much zest as his sister and thought it a perfect match, even the fact that they both seemed to have a grudge against Alas, that he wasn't so fond of, but they didn't bother her and he wa fine with that.
Then his ears and eyes turned back to the sound of Alas, he didn't have the time of reaction, with his forward momentum, to spring to the side to avoid the lunge. Then again, he probably wouldn't have done so anyways.
"Alas," he exhailed tenderly, even as they seemed to tumble upon the ground, a very effective tackle on the pink female's behalf. He buried his nose into her soft neck and inhaled deeply. Her scent just was so inticing to him, then with a second later, he was back to being himself. Ears forward and rolling up to his feet, but his tail swaying proudly and a big white crackled stocking paw moved forward to stoke one of his mate's white laced front legs.

Alas laughed as she tumbled with her mate and playfully lapped at his muzzle. As they stood she pressed her head against his chest feeling his paws against her her own. How easily she felt as one with this male.
"It's finally done..." She murmured and looked up at him her soft blue eyes shining with joy.
"I can finally stay for good." And with such perfect timing, she felt the strange yet unfamiliar sensations in her heart and womb. She was uncertain still and didn't want to give false news though.
She finally settled a bit, her tail still stroking a wild pattern in the air. She looked down now to share the harder news. "I was right about Twist..." She murmured.
"And...I told her about Tempeste, the truth...I had to give her some solace...as a mother she had the right to know. I hope she understands now, her other children have been seized by madness, and malady. They break away from the family ties, it's like a curse that no family of Agua Azul can remain happily together. Maybe she'll finally realize what her ambition and manipulations have caused. I feel badly for the lie I told, but I would never change it, Tempeste and Venera are so happy, they've grown into beautiful females, and they know how to love and be loved. They know compassion and family."

Aw, yes, his heart had returned with the pink healer, and not just his heart, but he hoped the heart of the pack. The mother of his growing family, blood and those he took in from the lonely nights of being solitary wolves. Well he was still working on bringing in more members for the family, for Akiiki Chibale, though they would have to look at Twix and her fox staring them down like criminals for a probation period.
The sweet song his love sang with eight words and her touch just made the day so much brighter. Wrapping his head around her neck, in a wolfish hug, Crunch's steady tail went off like a hummingbird's wings. "Thank the spirits," he murmured into her shoulder, stepping back to then look into her blue eyes.
But the news seemed to shattered and if he didn't know any better a cloud darkened the sky. Twist knew that Tempeste was still alive.
"Alas, I thought..." he couldn't even talk, where were the girls? "That they are, and I know, I remember you telling me of the shambles that her whole pack feel into. Such a great size and yet it is every wolf for themselves unless they love their mate then it's a pair on their own."

Alas touched her nose against Crunch's neck and licked him. "We can't allow Agua Azul to shadow us with their problems." She took a deep breath and moved to pace infront of him.
"I know that Twist may not remain calm, she sees Akiiki Chibale for what it is and...she hates what we have here, love, family, acceptance. We will always have each other even if things become hard." She looked at him nervously, she knew how much Crunch loved her, loved the pack, she didn't want to cause him any troubles. She had to tell him though, her news, her joyful news despite any concerns.
"Crunch...I..." She took another deep breath. "I think we're...I know now." She smiled softly and stopped to stand infront of him. "I'm carrying our pups."

The touch of her snout into his neck had his blue eyes moving back from the direction they had turned to, directed towards Agua Azul, that lynx would be coming into his territory then. For some reason it seemed Twister had formed alliances with the felines. Personally, Crunch wanted to find decent bears, they could kill a wolf with their claws or jaws.
The large male listened to the words that Alas spoke, all true, Akiiki Chibale was a well working system. Even Snickers had a use, driving everyone insane, or watching the water ways. Oh yes, Snickers was basically a guard for them with his eyes always peeled open for any reflective surface.
"I'll just be sure to..." he blinked. Alas had just stopped pacing before him and told him she was carring their young. If his tail was able to propel him through the air, he would have been fling like a falcon.
For a moment the alpha was completely still, as if his brain was shoving one to many thoughts in at once. "Do you want to lay down in the den? Want me to get something for you? Umm..." he paused gathering his composure and it seemed he had turned into Rally and Shelby, then went on, "Do you want me to call the girls?"

Alas waited uncertainly for his reaction before a smile broke across her muzzle. She moved to nuzzle Crunch happily her nose brushing beneath his jaw with each tender lick. "I'm fine, we can tell the girls tonight."
She relaxed against him "I was worried of what you might think..."
Alas had been amused however by his sudden confusion, she hadn't ever seen Crunch loose his composure quite like that. She knew that with Agua Azul possibly plotting against them it wasn't the best of time for new pups, new innocents. Still Alas could no more control such a thing then change the seasons to her whim.

"Are you sure? I have no problem finding them?" his eyes looked over her wary, trying to see if she was just as well as she was saying or just saying that to keep him from worring about her and getting distracted from the watching of the borders.
Though the moment she relaxed against him, the big blue male nodded, Alas wasn't one to be foolish enough to do something to make others worry. However, his eyes widened in shock, "Worried about what I might say? The only thing that I would plead for you to do is tell anyone you can if your not feeling well, Love. And possibly make Gracia stick to you like Snickers upon a river."
Although, Crunch did have to steal a look around, if Twix had seen his composure break, she would have added another tally upon her reasons to hate his choice in a mate.

Alas laughed softly at his last analogy "If Gracia stays that close she might forget to eat." She nuzzled Crunch happily.
The pink femme had antagonized over everything that had happened, her words with Twist, her confession about Tempeste, and the pups. With so many things happening she feared Crunch would see the pups as a burden in uncertain times. Instead she felt calm as the excitement came over him, he had been happy to raise Tempeste and Venera, and now it seemed he would enjoy the role of father moreso.
She grinned as he looked around and licked his nose "Don't worry love, Twix can't be everywhere at once." She knew Crunch was looking for his sister, she was the only one who expected him to be Alpha above all else at all times.

Crunch mulled that commet over and then frowned, "She probably would, Gracia tests her limits on things she is happy to do or feels obligated." The frown deepened, "Maybe I wouldn't tell her to be exactly like Snickers then." A small smile quickly swept the frown away.
The big blue male, through the looking about, could see the relief settling in just as she would soon be settling into her role as the heart in their extended family. The confessions only made him think that war was a high possibility, maybe something he should call the pack's attention to. He wasn't stupid, far from it, if Agua Azul moved down upon them like a black cloud, he would order for Alas to take those of non-fighter hearts and find another safe haven.
The serious look was shadowing his eyes as he started to run through different scenerios and then Alas's bright face appeared back into focus at her words. "You'd be surprised, especially with her new best friend, that little fox is a sneaky little fellow." He chided, sweeping the worry to the back burner for now. After all today was a day to celebrate.

"Gracia has been an angel, if it weren't for her help I don't know what I would have done to manage Tempeste and Venera and juggling my time with Agua Azul." She sighed and shook her head.
She watched Crunch's face become serious and offered him a smile. She was pleased to hear that Twix had a companion even if that meant another pair of eyes and ears for her.
"Your worried about Agua Azul...perhaps it's time we tried to find some alliances..." She word slipped uncertainly from her tongue, the thought of war was not pleasant, but the thought of Agua Azul thriving was less so.

Crunch smiled down at Alas, "Gracia is a God-send, we would have figured something out. The girls had Mahli, Mastilan, and Moranna to grow up with, though she did watch over all of them as only a loving family member could have."
When Alas smiled back up at him, he knew it was a comforting smile for the serious look he had just undergone.
"Perhaps it is. Alliances would give us a better fighting chance or even a better chance to let you led the others to safety." He murmured, then tilted his head down and gently rubbed his forhead against Alas's neck.
When he pulled his head back up, Crunch was back and he turned to look back towards the inner sactum of the pack. "Let's go find the girls and tell them that their mother doesn't have to leave any more."

Alas smiled softly and nodded at Crunch's words before adding with a wry smile "and Twix...I was surprised...but I should have known that Twix would embrace them, as family. The whole pack finally seems well settled Crunch...it's so at peace."
She pressed against him as if she hoped to trap the moment of calm and happiness between them. She nuzzled him and looked into his eyes with a slight frown. "Whatever comes...I won't leave your side...and you know the others wouldn't either."
As much as she knew that none of their family would leave for safety she couldn't help but hope that at least Gracia and Moranna could be convinced to lay low until the danger was past.
She smiled softly and nodded. "They'll be happy...and I'm happy to be home at last...with you..." She nuzzled his neck before moving along beside him standing tall and proud, but still looking quite petite beside the larger Crunch.
