PRP - Asherah and Ishida

User Image

"Oh...darnit!"

Grey ears flicked backwards in slight annoyance following the shrill little cry. The petite Audio they belonged to proceeded to stomp her foot and look straight ahead as if the perpetrator was right there. But the perpetrator was....well, herself, realizing that she forgot her list to go shopping with.

See, if she didn't have a list, she got distracted. And if she got distracted, she bought things that were pretty.

Not...that....pretty things were bad.

She turned around. Go back home, get the list, come back.

She turned BACK around. No, this could be done easily. She was just there for some good calligraphy pens. That was all.

Again. No! If she went in there for pens, she'd come out with Lord only knows what.

Yet again. No, she had this. It would be ok. Pens. That's it.

Passersby were somewhat relieved when the little grey Audio finally started walking t'wards the store in front of her..and stopped standing in the middle of the sidewalk doing 360s.

Asherah was her name. She was an Audio with a light grey body, dark grey paws and feet that matched the dark grey on the tip of her tail....and small patches of stunning, glittering rainbow all over her body. She was quite proud of that. She had blue eyes that simply danced whenever something exciting happened - which was quite often, in her opinion - and a light, sweet voice that rarely ever faltered. She also had a knack for buying pretty things.

Humming as she entered the craft store, Asherah glanced to and fro as her previous resolve wavered. Oh, she could afford to buy a pretty thing or two. Like...well, her pens, first, and theeen....stickers? No! Glitter! Yes. Glitter. She needed glitter.

With a little sway in her walk, a swish of the tail and a ruffle of the feathery wings on her back, she went directly to the area where she knew there was probably glitter. The Audio moved quickly through the aisles, scooting by customers with a cheery "S'cuse me!" as she neared the aisles with the confetti and such. Looking up in the middle of an aisle, her eyes widened. An entire wall of sparkles dazzled her vision, one that she was quite sure hadn't been there before. Amazed, she took a step back. Oooh...dear...

"This is going to take a while." she thought, smiling. And then, indecision took over.

Elsewhere in the craft store, another Audio was scrutinizing the selection of coloured spools of thread. In one hand he held a small patch of fabric. Ishida had discovered earlier in the morning that there was no thread in his apartment that matched the fabric in question, and he refused to turn out a shoddy, ill-matching product, even if his stitches were so fine as to nearly be invisible. No, he needed new thread.

And that's how he found himself in the craft store. Although not as good as a real fabric store, it was closer to home and had more than enough of the basics to last him between trips to the fabric store farther away. They had a decent selection, and thankfully for Ishida's budget, low prices. He had become enough of a regular that his occasional silent attitude and frowning expression had stopped unnerving the staff.

His glasses glinted dangerously as he held the fabric up to the various blue spools, his brows furrowed in an intense stare while he judged the suitability of each hue. Finally he found a shade that satisfied him, plucked one spool from the line, and decisively headed towards the checkout counter.

Oh. This was a terribly difficult decision.

It hadn't taken her as long to select possible colors. There was a lovely mint green green glitter that she was selecting, and an aquatic blue...but now she had to pick between fuschia, and mauve. This was a very hard choice to make. They were both so pretty! Not to mention she had projects that could use either color, or both...but she had limited herself to three colors, so she would have to choose. Uugh! This was so hard!

.....she couldn't make this decision alone.

Time to find help!

She very nearly skipped out of the aisle, looking both left and right to see if anyone was near. It was a rather odd time of day to be in a craft store, she supposed - because there was no one nearby that could help her. Any old person would do, really. Asherah was so friendly (and clueless about the general etiquette used in dealing with strangers - it was amazing that she hadn't been raped by some annoyed man that she assaulted with questions for one reason or another) that it didn't matter to her, regardless of whether or not they looked as if they were going to kill her. Either she didn't care, or she just didn't notice.

Her eyes and ears both sought help as she walked briskly t'wards the front of the store. Then, she happened to spot an Audio with glasses, who didn't seem to work at the store. Perfect! Smiling, she hurried to catch up with him "Hey! You!" she called out in that sweet voice.

She darted in front of him - just enough room to where he could stop - and she held up both colors. Not only did she hold them up, she held them right up in his face. In her mind, this was perfectly acceptable.

"Which one?"

It was such a simple question. But, to her, so hard!

Ishida had been prepared to disregard the call, since he did not recognize the voice, and it was unlikely it would be addressed to him anyway. He could not disregard the figure who stepped into his path, and at that pace it was only his quick reflexes that prevented him from running right into her. How reckless... And irritating.

Ishida took a step back to get away from the glaring tacky sparkles suddenly dominating the majority of his visual field, and reached up to adjust his glasses. His other hand clenched around the spool of perfectly blue thread. "Excuse me," he scowled, attempting to step around her and continue to the front desk. He had no intention of humoring her when he had things he needed to do.

"Oh come now, surely you can help me!" she protested, pulling back both containers of glitter to look at them once again. Asherah was totally undaunted by his displeased words and grumpy demeanor, it would seem. However....whether or not she simply didn't care or just couldn't tell was a mystery. All her eyes betrayed was joy behind the facade of painful indecision.

"Pleeease?" she asked sweetly, giving the total stranger her most heartfelt, pleading eyes.

"No," Ishida insisted, his irritation meeting her plea head on and pushing through unaffected. The menacing reflection to his glasses only added to the frightening aura. Whether it was just a bad day or a bad mood, Ishida practically radiated as much threatening presence as possible for a scrawny, antisocial, glasses-wearing guy buying sewing supplies in a craft store.

He stepped past her, hopefully leaving her behind as he strode towards the checkout. She could make up her own mind when it came to her arts and crafts, he had other things he needed to do.

She watched him push by, eyes wide as her tail flicked back and forth quickly - it normally did to when she was intrigued. He...ignored her? That didn't happen often. At least, not after a few attempts. It was baffling! Maybe he was just in a bad mood...

Yeah! That was it! He was in a bad mood. She should cheer him up!

Asherah turned and bolted in the opposite direction, t'wards the flowers. Ok, so..they were fake. But if she hurried, she could buy him some and make a pretty boquet and then he'd be happy!

Eh, she might as well just get both glitters in the process.

Ishida was relieved, and almost surprised to get all the way out of the store without any further incident. No sugary sweet voice, no requests for his help or attention, and no items shoved in his face. Maybe that girl had gotten the message.

He sighed, and strode off across the parking lot with his little bag in hand, he would be home soon enough and then he could get to work on his newest sewing project.
