Everyone is so kind in my gallery thread that I hardly get any feedback at all! It's great if you like my work, but please tell me what needs work, what you would do differently, and how it could be improved. Tell me where it fails, why, and what to do instead. Thanks! heart

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw.
xd

And.

They really are fantastic. I honestly couldn't suggest anything to improve it, except Domo-Kun would probably look better with eyes instead of buttons. >.<
You should be able to pick up generic black teddy-bear eyes from most craft stores.
His stitching's really neat. I love the addition of the velcro. =D

Yeah, I knew normal Domo-kun has, like, round shiny bear eyes, but I chose the buttons to try to make it more my "look." It was supposed to go with the teeth, which have tiny visible stitches all around them. I say it was a choice, of course that doesn't mean it was a good choice! Looking at the final product, I think you're right.

Oh my god, the velcro was such a nuisance. I'm glad I did it, because it's cool, but I kept having to change how I was doing it over and over (changing plans near completion is bad), because it wasn't quite working. The velcro in the mouth was actually a late addition. sweatdrop And now he just sits on top of the entertainment center of the guy I gave him to, and I realize, I could've just saved myself the trouble and sewed the cake into his mouth directly. Meh.

Thanks for the input! 3nodding

I think you don't get much criticism because they are quite well made

you will ALWAYS see flaws in things you make because, well, nothing ever comes out exactly as you envisioned it.
I think the fact that you can move around the cake and cat and such is a good idea, I would like it less if they were permanently attached.
looking at all the images, my guess would be that domo is the most recent, because your stitching on him is improved over the others, but none are poorly made.

Ok, I'm going to give you some criticism because I want another opportunity to tell you how fantastically perfect Domo kun is!

I love your Domo-kun. He looks professionally made and he is so gorgeous! I love the buttons as eyes you used and can't envision him any way other than what you did smile

Okay, now for the other type of criticism:

For me, Owl, Rabbit, Cat and Frog are made from quite scary colours and colour combinations. If I was making them, I would probably choose less clashy colours for myself, and make them a bit more rounded and 3D. It's all a matter of your own style and of who you're giving them to, so it is all subjective 3nodding

Having said that, your Rabbit is very endearing! biggrin

I love your sewing skills! I'm jealous wink

Although the owl is a little odd in my opinion. It might of looked better without the head sticking out like that, do you know what I'm talking about?

next time instead of seing a velcro strip onto the domos mouth it may be easier to use a fabric that has alot of catch to it and then just put small velcro pieces on the back of the pieces you want to make stick to him. lots of fabrics naturally let velcro stick to them and you can get velcro that has glue on the back of it already, just peel off backing and stick small squares of the "grippy" side on the back of the edibles and poof domo will eat anything! lol i dunno thats the way I would do it. I made my grandmother a pumpkin and out of fabric that clung well and made her fabric pieces with the velco on the back that she could put on it at halloween to give it different jack-o-latern faces. Worked well. Just a suggestion and I must say your craftsmanship looks near flawless in the photos!

Horrible, horrible plushies D:< You know there are minors on this site?

Haha, had to get that out of my system. There is nothing TO criticize about-- you are a really skilled plushie maker!

I think they're all amazingly well-constructed. My one, small criticism would be that I think Domo-kun's body could be better sewn together. The front part of his body looks as if it's raised up on a ridge. It could be more cohesive.

OK, so here is my attempt at constructive criticism.

#1: Birthday Domo-Kun
I agree with what Zoey Storm suggested about the velcro. It would give the Domo a better appearance even when it is just by itself.

#2: Magical Rainbow Birthday Panda
I don't know if it is due to the color choice, but the tail sort of resembles that of a flame of a candle. LOL.

#3: Owl, Rabbit, Cat, and Frog
The owl, probably, could use more form to the head. However, it is a creative idea to have it the way you did because it gives it a "bird" image. For the other three, you probably could work on the hands and feet, more. For the rabbit, especially, the hands look more like breasts. I don't know if that was what you were going for...and if you did, it works! Haha!

So there's my constructive criticism. I love your work because it is really creative and I hope to see more of it soon!! 4laugh

I don't know. I kind of like it with the buttons, but hey, we all have different opinions. I think the plushies came out great. I'm being honest, not nice.

Ugh! These are awful!

-The preceeding statements were LIES!-

I wish I were half as cute as your plushies! I can't sew worth a darn, but one day I'll get ambitious and try.

*edit... because I neglected to read the rules of the thread*

Alright. One could argue that the seams could be a little neater. Personally I like the rough and obvious stitching, though. It has character :>

oh god, these are impossible to criticize, but i'll say this:

for the red kitty, the purple eyes look kinda creepy and you may want to omit the whiskers next time. cuz only after staring at the pic for a long time did i realize they were whiskers, not uncut threads or something.

tho . . . i'm sure in real life, the kitty's whiskers look like whiskers. the camera probably does the plushie no justice.
