This is long, i would perfer it not to be so lengthy, but its the only way to get all the details in. Also, an important note to add, the intro is long, but the game is not strict, quite the contrary, i intend to hold very little control of anything that goes on, it'll develop like any real realm, with 99% of free will (( you cant do ANYTHING, there are still the rules of the site )) The reason the intro is so long is because i had to make the description of the realm appearance, the past--which ultimately explains why it looks the way it looks and why the humans are gone--and the game of Broqua. Broqua is the only place where i have placed real rules, and only because a game without rules is chaos.
If you like chaos? then you can go to the deeper hollows of the undercity, that's where the uncensored broqua games are played, the games of the criminals. There are absolutely no rules for that.
Also, a finishing note, i did my best with the intro, however if there is something that sounds just wrong, something that i explained in a way which you cant understand, or something that you just have an opinion about, feel free to mention it, i am open and encouraging of critiques.
Now for the fun part...
The two moons hang like bloody purls in the misty grey night; one of the more muggy nights, it was hot, sticky, and less then pleasant. It seemed that every night was like this anymore, and the days where only worse, as the great red sun clawed at the planet's cracked and abused surface. Great gouges and never-healing deserts scarred the dry, red grounds. Red like blood they where; red ground, red sky, everything was red, even the water seemed red because of the sky reflecting off of it.
This was a failing planet. The human's use of technology had sealed it's fate years before the species went extinct. The poison from years of pollution meant that plants barely ever grew in the wild anymore, they had to be grown in sealed and protected greenhouses. It was ironic really; the thing that had sentenced the planet to death, * science* was now the only thing that could keep it alive.
Its not like it mattered anyway, the creature's attempts at reviving the planet where useless. Even if they managed to stabilize it, the creatures that now called it home would only loose it anyway. The great red sun had swelled to at least five times the size it once had been, the heat that it gave off was almost unbearable--to a human it would mean almost instant death, but the creatures that lived now had adapted--a few hundred years more, it was estimated, and the sun would supernova. That would mean a quick end to this already half dead, and quite sad planet.
But the creatures that lived here refused to give up so easily. Unlike the humans, who had gone about their lives quite lazily, caring less then a little about what their machines did to the planet, this new species loved their home. They pledged to do whatever it took to save it. Whatever it took, and they had the ability to do so.
history of MAIN species
A super human species known as the D’Ryoekoe breed, or Ryoe for short, this was also a twisted sort of irony. The Ryoe had originally been created by the humans; hybrids that where made to be " slaves" since the practice of human slaving had been outlawed years back. The Ryoe where a mix of the fittest animals and beings that where brought together by gene combination and DNA mixing, the outcome was quite successful.
They where a mix of many animals: the horse, bull, oxen, or boor for their strength, the dog for its loyalty and drive to obey and please, the fox for its cunning, and even the bird to a small degree; though the reason they where used was unknown even to some of the scientists themselves. The physical appearance of the first Ryoe was quite frightening really; horses with horns of a bull, talons of the eagle, eyes slit like a cat and the fangs of the dog...quite frightening indeed. The first few attempts to sell the creatures ended with the would-be-buyers backing away in fear. The first attempt was dubbed a failure, and so the race was " deleted" and they started over.
They took great care in their next attempts, and they chose very precisely exactly what they wanted each part of the body to look like. They had to make them friendly looking, tame. The creatures where meant to be " appeasing" to the eyes, " cute" almost, so as not to frighten the handlers that they where meant to be sold to. What better creature to look like then the animal that man holds closes to him. The new race of Ryoe looked very much like a dog. With the hound like face that varied no less then that of the dogs, they could look as cute as a lap dog or as fierce as a Doberman. The humans also put in their share of genes, that way the Ryoe would have the body build of the human, the ability to walk up right. Along with having thumbs. It was at that stage when they got a new idea; make an even friendlier face, a more recognizable one, make a slave that could work less like a pet, more like a companion, a friend. Volunteers where hard to come by, but after much bribing and negotiating, a compromise was brought up. The public refused to offer up themselves or their loved ones to the scientists, but they where willing to turn their eyes if criminals where used, those humans who where on death row anyway. Elves soon came into creation.
A glitch and a great thundering boom sounded the birth-bell of dragon-kin. This ryoe birth had been a failure, an attempt to create a reptilian ryoe which would have more ease in climbing to the heights which the mammalian ones just could not. The humans quarantined the drakes for study in fear--not liking what they did not understand--however after a few months of studying the Drake's temperments, habits, and overall biology, the humans released them; more then released them, they went to work creating more!
The slave species where made stronger, given the ability to think on their own and to learn. That little bit of improving was something that the humans would later dearly regret.
After many years of successful and obedient service, the creatures had grown as smart as any middle school child, and they began to wonder why they where doing this slave work. A millennia after that, and they where just as smart as the humans, some even smarter. It was only a few years after that when they rebelled. This was the start of the hybrid wars, which lasted a hundred years or more.
The creatures had been made to learn by watching and studying, and after many years of watching the humans fight, and many failed attempts to copy their moves, the they finally began to understand human tactics. They studied, got better, and even improved most of the human's weapons and attack plans. After the war, the three "slave-races" where multiple times smarter then the humans could ever be.
A nuclear drop war, the human's last ditch effort to save themselves, succeeded only in destroying the earth's face. The hybrids had been studying them for weeks prior to the drop, and while they had never seen a nuclear bomb, they had seen a regular bomb, and they where deeply hidden when the earth shook at the attack. When the bombs stopped falling, the flood of hybrids swarmed out and overwhelmed the humans. After exterminating the humans from the planet, they went to work looking over the technology, * the technology that had already sentenced the planet to an early death. * They improved on the machines, made them less harmful to the already sick planet, and soon they had made it so that the planet was that of almost super genius proportion, and yet non of the objects would damage the planet anymore; not that it would do any good, the damage had been done. The source of energy was natural; air, sun, water, heat, no more fossil fuels or chemical factories.
Present time
6045 A.D. In the metropolis of Crin * NY city once*
(( one half of the rp to play at *scientists*))
The new species of super genius scientists, Ryoe, drake, and elves, work together to try and heal the injured planet. They have already found many ways to help it, cleaner sources of technology, now they are simply looking for a way to heal the scarres that have already been inflicted. The fate of the great red sun cannot be helped, at least not by THIS generation...perhaps the children of the future will find a way to revive the dieing sun, but for the moment the planet's fate is sealed by that great luming orb of bloody red.
(( other half of rp to play at * innocent civilians, common people* ))
The land is in deplorable condition, practically a planet wide desert, as the affects from the nuclear war many hundred years back still keeps the plants from growing. And the water is undrinkable unless it is put threw a wide range of filters and machines, But there is hope, the creatures never give up hope for the planets life in the future. For the moment they can only live, or try to live, as normally as possible. They go out and have fun, go to friends houses, go shopping. All transportation is done underground, as going to the surface, which is still full of radiation, is quite literally suicide. Only the strongest can stand going to the surface for any length of time.
