I think that teams that can make a pretty large turnarounds are the Chiefs, Vikings, Panthers, Eagles, Jets, Rams, and Raiders.

In my opinion, teams that could fall next season are the Buccaneers, Patriots (a little bit), and Broncos.

He wants you to back up your prediction, because personally, I think it's slightly ridiculous myself.

the patriots had too many losses at key positions,the distraction of spygate,the inability to cheat any more, and the rising talent of the bills and jets.
and i thank dude-lap for actually readig the topic and stating the teams he thinks

Well, if that's a shot at me, then fine. I'll post mine.

Vikes from 8-8 to 12-4 because the rest of our division sucks and we look solid this year. The Chiefs will make a big turnaround as well. And the Rams have no where to go but up. As for who falls, I think Green Bay will suffer without Favre and the Bears might finish what the Dolphins started last season.

And spike, when you post something ridiculous, expect some people to be surprised by it next time. And what point would there be in putting this up for discussion if we couldn't talk about each other's predictions?

I definitely don't think that the Patriots will go 16-0 again, but I think they'll be in the 12 to 14 win range. Spygate isn't a problem anymore, because it didn't really help them at all last season, and Belichick is a good enough coach to keep it from being a distraction. The main reason is that teams are starting to read the Patriots' offense better. Also, the Patriots lost 3 starting players in their defensive secondary, which never helps. They're in a fairly easy division, and they'll win the AFC East again, convincingly. But yeah, all in all, I think they'll fall a bit this upcoming season.

Although I do think that the Seahawks will win the NFC West again this season, it will be tough. The Rams were extremely injury plagued and should get healthier and better. The Niners should do pretty well with Martz as the new offensive coordinator. The Cardinals are also progressing.

I'm sick and tired of everyone deaming the Vikings of a breakout season. They don't have the the Quarterback to get the ball downfield. Tavaris Jackson is definantly not that guy.

Here are my predictions:
Rise- San Francisco 5-11 => 9-7 or 8-8.
Also. I think Carolina will take the NFC South, Delhomme started off incredibly with 8 TDs and 1 INT before getting hurt, and they will surprise alot of people.
Jacksonville Jaguars 11-5 => 13-3 Division title

Fall- New England Patriots 16-0 => 12-4/13-3
Indianapolis Colts =10-6 (3rd place finish =OOO)

Lets face it the North is getting so much better, and its one of the toughest divisions in the NFL with every team finishing .500 or better. Jacksonville will take the division finally, and Addai and Harrison will have off-seasons and teams will double on Wayne. With the loss of back-up TE Ben Utecht, the colts will be Depth deprived. Also, Bob Sanders hasn't been an iron man, and this defense goes as he goes.

And no matter how many INTs VY throws. Tennessee will just win games.
Disgusting? Yeah I know.
Look for the Colts to split the divisional games 3-3, and possibly lose two to Jacksonville and maybe Tennessee can sneak two in as well

BTW: I didn't comment on philly, cause I am an Eagles fan.

The 49er secondary will not let them improve 4 games.

Carolina will do very well, maybe even wild card, but their defense will keep them from being contenders.

The Patriots should be able win over 12 again, but that's not a tough feat with an easy division and schedule. Losses at secondary could keep them out of the Super Bowl.

I, too, actually picked the Jaguars to win the AFC South, but I doubt the Titans will overtake the Colts for 2nd in the division. The Colts will make the playoffs. Bob Sanders, Dwight Freeney, and Marvin Harrison should all be at least 95% by the season's start. Manning's surgery is over hyped and a non-factor with such a great offensive line. Ben Utecth loss isn't too bad, because Dallas Clark is great, and Anthony Gonzales stretches both inside and out. I know it's surprising, but Reggie Wayne almost always beats double coverage; he did it last season. Addai should have another good year, Rhodes is back for the handcuff.

I doubt that the Titans will steal two games from the Colts. They'd be lucky to take one. Yes, their defense is very good, and their backfield is deep, but they have virtually no passing game. If your going to beat the Colts, it's through the air. Gage is the prime receiver, and is still mediocre. Crumpler should get double teamed then. Young will get punished if he tries to run against the Colts. All in all, the Titans won't have another cinderella story at making the playoffs. Fisher is a great legendary coach, but you have to question the front office at not making any acquisitions at WR.

the panthers sucsess all relys on the heath of dhelomes elbow. you may say it healed but it might never be the same again, take chad pennington for example, all pro quarterback injures his rotator cuff and now he cant even secure a starting job
