... In Modern Day society in the Anita-verse.
I was doing some thinking, as I created a new character in my head and entered it into the Anita-verse... Lycanthropes get a hard time of it.
I mean, sure, it''s pretty blatant... But when you compare it to the vampire life?
Allow me to elaborate.
Lycanthropy:
You turn, on average, furry once a month.
When you are furry, you crave meat/flesh.. Maybe a touch of blood.. But this is satisfied by killing an ANIMAL.
It is classified as an illness, such as AIDs or HIV, and (even though it''s illegal to discriminate) if your condition is found out you will then lose your job even though you''re not contagious.
That''s another note... you are ONLY contagious whilst in furry form (be it a hand, teeth, or the full furry doover).
It is legal to kill you in some states if it can be proven that you have lycanthropy... in some cases, the bounty hunter will recieve a reward for doing the deed in the first place.
Vampirism:
You are always going to crave blood, even though you can''t really suck a person dry in one sitting (Unlike Buffy-verse vamps... also no game-face)... Oh, lemme emphasise a small point, you''re going to be drinking HUMAN blood.
You are legal throughout America, and maybe some of Europe? England at least?, so if a vampire is killed without a legal writ of execution, the person that killed you has just committed murder.
If your boss finds out your a vampire (try not to ask for the lateshift too many times) then, chances are, unless you''re in the business of doctoring, your boss is going to keep you around purely for tourists... You may even get a pay raise.
If you bite someone three times within whatever time limit the Anita-verse gave you, you will turn that person into a vampire like yourself... Of course, if your Master finds out he may get alittle pissed.
I''m missing a few points, I realise this, but going over that a few times in my head I came to the conclusion that lycanthropes get a raw deal...
They get all this power... and then they''re treated like crap.
Think on it, you can punch a hole in a brick wall... But if a vampire in your area has your animal to call then you''re pretty much just gonna be a lackey... And if you do get found out, not only are you going to lose whatever normal job you may have had... Hey, here''s a point I missed above... You may also risk being thrown into one of those lycanthrope halfway houses and never be seen again.
Vampires, meanwhile, get all good stuffs... And these are the monsters that actually DO harm humans, every night, just so they can live night to night... They''re accepted, they have to be, they''re legal... I still can''t think of a bad thing ''cept for the fact if you go a little nutso and kill indiscriminately you''re going to have Anita after your a**...
So, seriously... two questions come of this.
Why do lycanthropes get such a raw deal in day to day life?
And, if you had a choice, which would you rather be, Vamp or Lycan?
Yeah, I babbled. Apologies.
