It had started out as a fairly nice evening, and Celebor and Niyana had left the children at home with Serenity to watch over them so that the two of them could have the evening to themselves, to just go for a walk and explore more of the world that they lived in. After all, most of it was still unexplored, and having spent so much time in a similar area in the world where his mother had been born, Celebor was curious about the mountains that could be seen in the distance from the grove they called their front yard.
He had suggested to Niyana that they check it out, just to see what was there, and upon her agreement they had asked Serenity to come and set out for the long walk that they had known would be ahead of them.
But the night had not stayed quite so pleasant. Clouds had slowly passed over the sun, blocking it out, and though it wasn't raining, a slight fog had fallen over the region where they were walking.
"Perhaps we should have chosen a different night," he murmured softly to Niyana, one hand holding hers, his other carrying his bow, his eyes on the darkness that was growing around them. "Or maybe we should turn around soon."
In the trees ahead of them, just at the base of one of the mountains, a black figure was hidden in the shadows. Flat against the trunk of a tree, robed from head to toe in black, he was completely invisible - save the glint of icy blue eyes that could be seen flashing in the darkness every once in a while when he was careless.
But at the moment he was being cautious, and he knew that there was no way he would be visible to anyone, even those who might have night vision. He had learned from the animals, and he had put his knowledge to good use.
His pointed ears, shielded from the breeze by the material of his cowl, picked up sounds that anyone else would have missed, and he could hear the voice on the wind. Morbid curiosity kept him there, wondering who might be coming to this area of the world, where so few had ever ventured: if not for that, he would be heading back to his lover at that moment.
He could hear from their steps and their voices that they were drawing nearer, and he strained his ears, trying to overhear what they were saying.

Niyana moved gracefully threw the wood and her body becoming more fluid as darkness and fog stated to flow around them. She took her ninja linage or what she thought of as one seriously. She had trained mostly at night to work so her body would be better in the dark.
"We have come this far my lord...you wished to see these mountains and the only time I was ever near them was when I was young." she turned to him smiling up at him. Even her voice was more like the wind. "Your sister will take care of the kids wail we are gone...And if we get stuck for the night they will be fine."
She looked around the night her hand holding Celebor's warmly. She moved closer towards the base of the mountains her hair flowing behind her and her feet almost as light as an elf's.

Celebor smiled and followed swiftly after his mate, moving as quickly and yet more silently than she.
"You're right, of course," he murmured. "I suppose I'm just a bit anxious, since I've never been out here before. But you seem to know where you're going, so I can trust you. You're right, Serenity will be fine with the kids. Or rather, they'll be all right with her."
He squeezed her hand and picked up his pace so that he wouldn't be left behind.
Explorers, it sounded like. A man and a woman. With children ... a family? A real family. Maybe. Who knew? They could just be lovers.
Not that it was any of his business, of course. He had nothing to do with them, nor they with him. Why bother with them?
But they were invading his territory. That was how he thought of this area - his territory - like the animals he had grown up with. Perhaps he should watch them, just to be sure that they would not prove themselves to be a threat.
With that thought in mind, he pulled his cowl lower so that his glowing eyes would be hidden and fell into step silently behind the two.

Niyana could feel their darkened cover had be interfeared. She slowed their movements and shut her eyes as she walked. She could not hear like an elf or be as quiet but she could tell with someone was too close to her and her mate.
Her movements did not give away that she knew someone was near. But her mind scaned trying to figure out where this other in the darkness was. "I have never been this far up them...and despite what some may think this world is not always safe and friendly. But we will be safe I am sure."
She started to work out where this other was. It was behind them moving along with them. She knew better than to attack someone who has not attacked first but her hand slipped down to rest on her hips as she moved. She almost knew where this person was, just keep moving...

Celebor could also sense that someone was following them, the hairs on the back of his neck prickling in warning. He had plenty of experience in night hunts, and he knew that something was off.
Still, he kept his tone light as he spoke once more to his mate, though he was paying more attention to the area around them rather than to what he was saying.
"Well, we know there are animals," he said as if he were thinking about it, "but who knows what else there could be?"
His free hand moved to rest on the hilt of his sword and he squeezed Niyana's hand slightly before releasing it so that he would have no restrictions if the need came to defend themselves.
Corrah did not need to see their faces or listen to their forced words to know that his presence had been sensed - though he also knew that they did not know where he was or what he was. Silent as the fog through which they were walking, he flattened himself to the ground and moved swiftly until he was in front of them.
There, he decided to confront them, and he stood only a few short paces in front of them, entirely enshrouded in the blackness of his robes - but he raised his chin slightly so that his glowing blue eyes would be visible in the darkness, though none of the rest of him was.
"Who are you?" he asked in a low, demanding tone when they were only a step away from him. "What are you doing in my territory?"

Niyana felt a shift in the darkness and as the other moved in front of them she turned with him finding him before his stood. She looked bravely into those cruel blue eyes. “This is Second You territory it belongs to all those of Second You decent not just so man who lives in the mountains.” She said bravely. Though his eyes un nerved her she stood straight and ready incase he would attack.
“And it is not a crime to walk in the woods at night sir.” She kept looking at him threw the corner of her eye as she looked at her mate, “Guess were not alone.” She said softly. She would not back down if it came to a fight but she would not want to have been alone with this man. And as long as Celebor was by her side she felt safe.

Until now, Corrah had simply wanted to know what the two were doing in his area, but at Niyana's words his eyes blazed with a sudden fury. As far as he was concerned, this was his land - he had never had anyone come here like this, and never had they spoken to him in such a manner.
Celebor saw the anger in the man's eyes, and he reached for Niyana's hand and squeezed it, trying to calm her. One thing he had learned during his time with his uncle was that anger was no way to respond to wild accusations.
Finally, his prince training was coming in handy.
"Niyana," he murmured softly, "there's been a misunderstanding. Let me try talking to him. Getting him angry will do us no good."
He put one hand in the small of her back and pulled her close, then looked at the man, trying his best to keep his eyes calm, even though he was as angry as Niyana at the man's greeting - if it could be called that.
"I beg your pardon, sir," he said softly, knowing now why diplomats and ambassadors were necessary. "We did not know that you live here. We simply desired to explore the beautiful mountains that are so close to our own home."
At the same time, he thought to Niyana, If he really lives here, then we have intruded in his home just as surely as if someone came into our grove ... and this man is dangerous. It is best not to fight if we can avoid it.
For a moment Corrah just listened, mulling over Celebor's words, and though his hand had moved to grip the hilt of his sword he slowly released his grip, relaxing physically though he remained alert, ready for any sign of attack from the woman. While he would fight to defend himself and his land if necessary, he disliked violence if there was no need. Only people sought violence for the sake of violence.
Another reason he hated people so much.
Finally the fire in his eyes faded slightly until his eyes were the same as they had first been - bright and cold, but without the fury that had blazed. Silently, he stared at the woman, seeing what she would do.

Niyana hated when people claimed his beautiful land for themselves. She hated being cased out of group and group of people. She was not in the mood for this cloaked stranger to ruin her walk with her mate. She didn’t care who he was he had no right to treat other in the way he was.
She felt Celebor’s hand grip hers then move around her back to pull her close. For the first time in their relationship Celebor had hurt her. He did not trust her ability to keep calm and defend her self. He was making her seem like a weak minding woman.
She bowed her head and slipped from his arms, “Please do talk then my lord.” She said backing off a bit and moving to stand a bit behind her mate and too the side her eyes on the stranger just incase he tired anything.
She heard him whisper in her mind but did not respond. She could keep calm and be respectful even if she was not raised with lots of family, or in a beautiful piece of nature. She could be just as civil….right? Her body language and face did not give away her feelings and she kept her emotions in check from Celebor incase he wanted to start testing their growing mental connection.

Celebor was completely confused by Niyana's lack of response, and he had to fight not to show it. Had he done something to offend her? He just wanted to get them out of this situation without a fight, was that so terrible?
He would have to ask her later. For the moment, he was worried about getting away from this man safely.
Only after several long moments of silence Corrah lowered his cowl once more, hiding his eyes from sight and effectively rendering him invisible.
"You wish only to explore," he repeated as if testing the words out on his tongue. "Only to explore."
Celebor nodded silently, not knowing if this was a good thing or a bad thing.
The fog was growing thicker now, but it didn't bother Corrah in the least. He knew the mountains like the back of his own hand - better even, since he was getting new scars all the time, but the mountains stayed the same. On the other hand, soon it would be impossible for these two to find their way anywhere, and they would become lost.
He didn't particularly care for the woman. Rude, presumptive, violent woman - he could see all of this right away. But the man ... he showed the ability to show some respect at least. He couldn't send him off in good conscience.
"The fog will soon cover the lower mountain," he said finally, his voice low, and he raised his cowl slightly so that his eyes showed - but only barely. "You will get lost here."
His gaze turned to the woman. "If your woman doesn't mind," he said, trying to keep anger from returning to his voice, "I can take you somewhere safe for the night, and you can continue your exploration in the morning, when it is safe."
He raised his eyes and looked around them. "The predators will hunt tonight."
As grateful as Celebor was to have avoided conflict, and that the man seemed not to be quite so bad after all, he felt a little ruffled at the way the man had referred to Niyana.
"She is my wife," he said firmly. "Not my woman. She is no possession. She is my wife."

Niyana started to grow more anergy at the other man's words. She sighed and looked at him, "Well you do know the mountain sir so I can not deny your words. Or say we will be fine. But we would not wish to impose sir." She said ignoring the woman comment though it hit her deep into her core.
She bowed and smiled, "Thank you my lord." She walked over to take Celebor's arms. She sighed and knew she would apear weak and flip floppy but her first impression was bad anyways.

Celebor took Niyana back into his arms willingly, wondering if things were right between them now or if there would still be need for that discussion. Nevertheless, he was glad to have her near again: it made him feel a lot better.
"Lead the way, sir," he said softly to the man.
Corrah nodded and headed out into the fog - but a moment later he turned back and bowed his head slightly.
"My name is Corrah," he said simply; and then he started off once again slowly so that they would not lose him in the mist.

Niyana nods her head respectfully at Corrah, "It is a pleasure...my name is Niyana and this is my husband Celebor." she followed Corrah in quiet and sighing a bit, "I am sorry that we might have trespass on your land. I did not know that is was claimed...this place was free when I was younger...or at least the other side of the mountain.

Corrah made a sound in his throat. "If you were here that long ago," he said solemnly, "then there is a chance that might have been before ..."
Before his time? Or before he had ventured from his main home? Either way, it meant that she had at least some right to be there. Especially since he had never seen any signs of her presence.
"If you harm nothing," he went on slowly, "then I do not object to your presence ... unless you go to the summit of this mountain. There I must ask that you never go."
And, sensing that there might be another burst of temper coming, he looked over his shoulder at her and added softly, "Please."
Celebor swallowed hardly and looked over at Niyana, peering through the darkness and the fog to try to focus on her face. Was she ignoring him? Or was she simply focusing on easing the anger of this man?

Niyana nods, "The summit is yours Corrah sir. And the only reason I would harm anything would be if it were to get food for my family." she followed him her sets quick to keep up with his movements.
She watched him move. He was just as a loner and as unsocial as she was. And Celebor was right she would have protected the grove of their home. She sighed, "Again we are sorry if we are bothering your evening. Thank you for allowing us a place to stay for the night.
