"..."
Rainbow scuttled around quietly. He had momentarily wandered away from his family, who were too busy to noticed. The rest of the family talked far to much for Rainbow, who stayed silent most of the day. Now that he was alone, the colt took the chance to relax, but stayed a little weary of his surroundings. He didn't see any other Soquili, though he knew one could appear at any moment. The idea sent a shiver through his small spine.

The small kalona wandered around the forest. She skipped from tree shadow to tree shadow. It was all too bright for her but she didn't want to retire to the teepee yet. Her parents encouraged her to be very independent and she took full advantage of that trust. Plus, even she wasn't worried about getting hurt or anything. Walking through the forest, Keira walked confidently knowing that nothing could harm her. If anything happened to do anything, Keira was sure that her family would be on that soquili or whatever it was and kill it. Grinning to herself, Keira was so proud and vain especially about her family. They were the best.

Rainbow kept walking at a slow pace, for, he had no reason to hurry. For a while, all was silent and still. The silence served to calm the colt until he was more comfortable on his own. But this comfort didn't last long. The faint sound of hooves was picked up by his spotted ears. Rainbow stopped in his trackes. Thoughts flooded through his mind a million miles an hour. What was there? Was it an adult? Would they hurt him? Needless to say, the foal was much too paranoid for his own good.

Keira had begun to hear Rainbow's footsteps too. What was that? The small colt continued to walk towards Rainbow curiously. As the other foal became more apparent, Keira couldn't help but laugh to herself. This colt looked so... bright! She thought he looked kind of funny because she grew up thinking that the darker the soquili the better. She didn't say anything to him but just kept walking; her glowing eyes growing more and more ominous as she walked.

After a few moments, it became apparent that the footsteps were becoming louder. That could only mean one thing: whatever was making the noise was coming closer. This thought caused Rainbow's heart-rate to sky rocket. For a solid five minutes, the foal stood frozen wondering if he should look back or not. Finally, he got the courage to look back.
When he did, Rainbow saw a dark figure with wings. This was enough to scare him, even though the figure was around the same size as himself. Even with all this Rainbow couldn't seem to move his legs. If he could have, the colt would have been running away already.

Staring at the small foal, Keira couldn't help but grin. Oh how easy this would be... She walked closer to the colt. "Hello there!" There was an apparent fakeness in her voice but she wanted him to know that she was definitely not a friend. She changed her tone to something more soothing. "Don't be scared." She continued to smile and walk closer to Rainbow.
