You may remember me talking about shutting Feretris down during the summer. I've been considering it all these months since I first said that, and I still want to shut it down. It's been a big responsibility for me for years now, and I feel that I want something different. In fact, I have a mind to start a different sort of RP. But whether I start a new RP or not, I don't want to run Feretris any more-- not the same way I've been running it, at least.

So, you guys had talked about running it yourself. This is what this discussion is about. If you still want to run it yourself I can help you transition and we can talk about new GMs, recruiting new people, and what the RP should become. I would be comfortable with any one here GMing or co-GMing, and I don't mind bringing in new GMs of good quality. If you guys are going to run it, then I will help you make it yours, and I can help you with the world as needed. You or we can rewrite the introduction material and open up character acceptance to be less strict, if that's what you want. It doesn't need to be one person running it like I did, that's up to you guys. This would be a lot of work for us all, and I wouldn't mind, just as long as you don't yank my chain and you really mean it. biggrin

If you want to run it yourself, please post giving us an idea of what you want the RP to become and how you think we can do that. I can't help you transition if you don't have an idea of what you want.

If you don't want to run it yourself, than this can be a very short discussion. The story didn't quite get to the place that I wanted it to, but I could have this all shut down in a day if that is what we decide. In that case, do you want me to post some sort of synopsis of what I had planned/some sort of ending to the current story? Or just a clean cut, bye bye Feretris? Do you want to put a date on it, and we'll RP until then?

Remember, I'm the one who doesn't want to GM it any more, so you won't hurt my feelings with any of your comments about shutting it down, how I ran it, etc. mrgreen

It's your baby, so it's up to you. :]

But if someone really wants to run it, let'em. It wouldn't hurt anyone, I don't think.

I have no problem letting other people GM but I don't want to do it myself any more. If enough people want it to continue (so, they would continue posting if another GM took over) then you guys should find out if one of you wants to GM and/or search for an outsider to bring in. I'll help that GM transition as needed.

If no GMs are found, and I do get rid of it, the threads won't be deleted. They'll be moved to the dead zone and at least some of them linked in there for reference. However, I've noticed that some of my threads that I had "saved" from years ago no longer work on Gaia, so they may eventually be automatically pruned. I would set a date as to when I would move the threads so that you can save any info you want to your computers. I might save the summary I have in the OOC thread myself.

I'm all in favor of you doing what you need to do for you.

I know in the past I've voiced a willingness to help run this rp - and while I'd still be willing to do some of it, if people want - there's no way I could do as much as you've been doing by even half. But if there were others interested in helping to run and continue everything, I'd be willing to help.

If not, that's fine also. I love what you've done here and how willing you are to work with everyone and give everyone a great place to come and play.

If you do end up closing things, I would love to see a synopsis. Just because I do have curiosity.

But basically, whatever you need to do, I throw my support in your corner.

personally two GMs sound like the balance...one for Feretris (and everywhere else) and one for Tok. It seems most of the 'adventures' take place in Feretris while the politics are in tok. that makes sense to me.

I'm willing to help someone run things - but I don't know that I have time to really do anything really grand scale. If I only had one thread to run - or if I had someone who really understood things to help, I'm good to go.

But if we end up having to make too many changes to make things work - isn't that almost the same as ending the game? If we have to change characters and start new - it's almost not going to be the same game any more and we might as well have ended it and just started something else.

I don't know what to say - I want to be here and supportive and helpful - and I don't mind helping - but I'd be limited to maybe an hour a day that I could put in to this RP - if that on some days.

So the scale things have been working on would defiantly have to scale back. I am capable of running just about any type of rp - political or not - having run all kinds of games in my life - and I'm okay with running whatever - but in order to take over, things have to condense - and I'd have to have help, that's just all there is to it. Two months ago it wouldn't have been a problem - I was on alot and bored to tears w/ nothing to do - so I got jobs with different B&C shops as a colorist and opened one of my own - so my spare time got cut WAY down.

But I have experience running - if there was someone who knew and liked the story who wanted to help but didn't feel confident doing so because they wern't sure they were up to running an RP - they'd be idea for me to team up with.
