Class Description An anatomy course that features comprehensive guides to the human organs, systems, and body structure for the students. In addition, more abstract, ethereal elements of anatomy, such as chi, the flow of mana, and acupuncture, will also be discussed. Classroom Description Starting from the entrance and winding its way right along the room is a time line on developments and theories across the ages, sometimes accompanied by a model. Computers are arranged in rows facing the front of the classroom. Ugh, he didn't want to be here. Sure it was a treasure to be able to become learned and not starve and blah blah blaaah. But now that he tried it, he was kind of jealous of all the times he just sat on his butt and did nothing. It never accomplished anything, but this was just as counter productive! Maybe it would have helped if it was in Russian. Or he was just doomed in scholarly work.
Alexander groaned and leaned across the counter top before him, his chair squealing as it was pressed back. How could he study the human body if he didn't know half these words. He knew foot, hand, uhhh leg and that was about it.

And already Nash was dozing. Not even an half hour had passed before he'd rested his cheek against his hand dozing slowly but surely. Soon his elbow slipped on the surface of the desk giving way to his weight. He went nose first into the desk after that. "Ow!" The resounding exclaimation bounced off the walls in the room as the redhead quickly collected his nose rubbing it carefully.
It wasn't that he didn't want to learn he just didn't have a very sharp attention span. His mind was on the human body a moment ago then he remember thinking about his father and back home. Then pictures of trees and fluffly clouds floating through his head and next thing he knew he was out. Cold.
Looking around the room he didn't see very many students only one catching his attention behind him. He looked about as bored as Nash felt. Sighing he rubbed at his nose one last leaning back in his chair going over his notes again. Better focus or nothing would come of this...

Oh God! The sudden thump of face hitting desk dissolved what boredom and lethargy plagued Sasha, leaving his heart pumping. He stood up and peered over his monitor, wondering which student was unlucky enough to clock himself during class.
Oh he remembered that boy from a few nights ago when that fire had broken out in the science building. He didn't remember his name though. Sitting back down, Alex turned the page of his printed worksheets and began glossing over the strange terms with little understanding. After a good few minutes of shuffling his papers and glancing at Nash, the little Russian boy picked up his books and shuffled over to the other student, holding his textbook and worksheets against his chest. "Uhmm.... Hey, can I sit here?" He pointed to an empty monitor beside Nash.

Nash sighed poking at his nose a bit more to make certain nothing was broken or out of place. His attention was so focused on this task that he barely registered another student standing next to him. With a start he looked up sighing in relief that it wasn't a monster or vengeful instructor. Looking at the empty monitor next to him then the student it slowly began to register why he was there (missing out on the Russian's question previously).
With a nod he stood politely to move the chair. "Ah, yes please... no one is using it." He offered wincing at the pain from his sore nose. It would likely leave a bruise but that was okay over time it would heel.
Taking his seat again Nash tried going over his notes again staring at the screen before grumbling something incoherent to himself. "D-do? Do you get bored in these classes?" He asked venturing to make conversation. Maybe if he got to know the other student they could occupy their boredom while getting a little work done in the process.

"Thanks..." Sasha smiled weakly and put his books down on the counter, taking a seat beside Nash. He started to open his book and papers again, spilling them all over his desk space to try once more to study. But the text began to blur with his vision and he sagged in his chair, frustrated with this whole school thing.
Alexander sighed and leaned back in his chair, looking over at the other boy. "I... I guess so. I've never taken classes before so.... I don't know. But it's not going very well so far. It would help if I knew English! Most of these like terms I can't even pronounce..." He stuck his tongue out at the work, glowering at the figures across his worksheets.

Nash nodded as he watched the other for a moment then it registered. The other student wasn't from around here, none of them were but he didn't know English as well as Nash. Looking over his notes he didn't have much jotted down but slid them over to the student. "I suppose that would help with the work around here... if you'd like I could probably help with the harder English." He gave a light giggle at the student's display offering a hand to shake. "Seibehn... strange name my papa gave me but I prefer Nash anyway. What's yours?" He asked running his fingers through his curly carrot tresses.

Sasha careened his head to the side, looking over the notes that Nash had slipped over to him. They were really clean and the figures were all labeled. He would have to do some serious mooching. "I'd like that, thanks! I'm Alex, but you can call me Sasha..." He smiled gratefully and pushed his papers closer to Nash.
"I guess... I dunno I guess I just need to figure out like how to uhmm uhmm uhhh...." Heck, what was the word? "pronounce them, really..."

Nash smiled kindly looking over his notes then looking over Sasha's with a slight nod. "Well the best we could do is go over the information together. Point to a word you can't pronounce and I'll help you sound it out." He informed looking over his notes again he chewed on the tip of his pen then jotted something down he found in the lesson off hand. "I think it might help make it easier and I can try to explain if you don't understand what the word means." He offered though it appeared his attention was on the work a frown on his face at something that didn't quite make sense to him.

"Okay, I can do that..." Sasha continued to look over Nash's notes and the homework he printed, filling out what blanks and questions he could before consulting back to his friend. Pulling his hair behind his ears, Alexander chewed on his pencil rabidly.
"Have.. you ever been to school before? I mean before coming to Shinkami?" He had never gone to formal school really,, nor his brother, with the exception of being tutored in reading and writing. But once their father died, their mother just didn't have the money to keep them through any kind of school.

Nash flinched at the question. Looking up and then back at his notes his cheeks flushed as he scribbled some more notes down. "Only when papa was around. I went to kindergarten but when he left, mama pulled me out of school. I wasn't allowed to read or write just stayed around the house doing chores and taking care of her." He nibbled at his pencil as if telling his story were a normal thing for a child. "I had friends in town at the baker and market, they smuggled some books for me and spent time with me to teach me how to read and write." He gave a half chuckle not one of mirth as he continued, "I'll never forget the day she found out I could read and write. Took two weeks to heal from that... " He trailed off going silent for a long while. When he finally looked up he was smiling. "But I'm glad I learned when I had the chance or I wouldn't be able to help you now." And that was all he had to say.

Alexander smiled sympathetically at Nash, completely understanding. "Same with uhmm my dad too..." He really couldn't even remember his father much. He was never home, only stumbling through when his brother and he were already in bed. He was never mean or abusive, but he had never been loving either.
Flipping through the next few pages of the worksheet, Sasha sighed dramatically and let the papers flutter shut on the table. "I'm already tired of this....."

Nash looked up at the other student his gaze guarded but soon melting into a smile. He sighed setting his pencil down and closing his book. Propping himself on elbow he watched the other lazily. "Yeah... I feel the same. But I figured if I get my work done in class more time for play and not wasting it on studying in my room." Still he made no move to open his book again wondering what they could do to pass the time. "What are your interests?" Nash asked finally.

Alex wished it were that easy. He didn't mean to have everything pile up on him the day before it was due, but he could never motivate himself to do anything prior. His brother Niki would always tell him that he should work a little and then 'reward' himself with reading or computer time. But he wanted computer time now not after.
"Uhmm..." Alex put down his pencil and looked over at Nash. "I uhh I dunno..." That sounded stupid, but he really didn't have many interested, only duties. "Well.... I.... like reading and uhmm I used to breed reindeer and skin them.... uhmm I like computers!! Oh my gosh, the best thing ever!" He couldn't think of much else. This was the first time he had the freedom to do anything he wanted and he wasn't sure what to do with the liberation quite yet. "What about you?"

Nash nibbled on his pencil a moment in thought. Like Sasha it seemed he didn't know much about his interests. With little freedoms at home he didn't have time in the day to understand his interest but that was in the past now. With a soft sigh he shrugged. "I'm in the same boat I'm afraid. Not really sure but I gather I like computers too..." He offered then a thought came to mind. "Actually I know I had fun when reading. I love books! All the different worlds you can travel without even leaving your room!" He giggled softly, such a kid was he but it was only natural being young. "Although I want to learn more about the world around me. Being cooped up for so long it's only natural. I want to know everything there is to know."

He smiled back and looked down at his homework. It was.... kinda getting somewhere. He brushed away all the eraser crumblies from his paper and onto the floor with the back of his hand. Alex wished he was as enthusiastic about the world as Nash was. He was perfectly content to hole up in his room forever and that wasn't really a good thing.
Huffing resolutely, Sasha began pooling his papers together, stacking a few notebooks and stuffing the homework into the cover of the book. Leaning back in his chair, the boy stretched dramatically, waving his arms in a circle. "I can't absorb anymoooore..." He whined.
