 "YESS!"
At the sound of the loud yell, several birds scatter from their trees and a lone squirrel drops his acron and runs for the cover of a bush. Jarek, the brightly colored horse who let out the yell, only thought momentarily about the poor creatures he startled before continuing his celebration. But what was all this celebrating about? For the past few days dark clouds have been sending down cold rain. Not to mention they blocked out the beautiful glow of the sun. Jarek was a sun man; just as someone might guess from his appearence. But today he'd woken up to a light so bright it was a few minutes before he could fully open his eyes. Jarek was so excited to be able to lounge in the sun he couldn't contain his happiness.
"Woohoo."
Jarek continued his dancing and cheering parade as he wandered through the field he called home. He'd choosen an open field in order to get as much sun as possible. The only trees were small and few, but nonetheless birds still loved to call them home. The birds Jarek had scattered now returned to their tree and shot him some mean glares as he skipped by. But the horse only looked over his shoulder and whistled a little tune in their direction.
"All I need is the sun!" Jarek proclaimed happily, despite the fact that he knew very well he would go mad without any other horses to talk to. But lately he'd been the only large life in the field. His only conversations consisted mostly of chirping. But at this moment, that didn't bother him.

 Pandy grumbled and awoke from beneath the shade of a large tree. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust on the cause of the disturbance that intruded on this usually peaceful location. It was an usdia, like herself and he seemed harmless enough. It looked like he was playing? Of course, for all she knew -- and how he seemed to act, he could have a swarm of bees chasing him. Curious, she pushed herself up and stretched. She had slept far longer than she had intended and her bones were rather stiff. It would probably do her some good to run about as well. "Mind if I join you for some exercise?," she called out. She didn't wait for an answer, though. She took off at a run. Once she neared him, she slowed down to take a better look at him. He sure was a brightly colored one, wasn't he? "I'm Pandy," she offered. What had him so darn energetic today? She kind of envied his obvious good mood.

Jarek was minding his own busy and dancing around like a maniac when a voice popped out from the shadows. Upon closer inspection, Jarek could see the outline of some small creature tucked away under the shadow of a tree. But he didn't have enough time to guess what the creature could be because it was already up and coming his way. Well, not 'it', but 'she'. The thought that this mare witnessed his terrible dancing skills crossed Jarek's mind, but only briefly. Meeting a mare under such circumstances might have embarrassed the normal stallion. But Jarek isn't the normal stallion.
"Of course not!" Jarek said, turning to face the newcomer as he continued to bust a move. She was a sharp contrast to him. Jarek had around four colors flooding over his body while this mare only had two. Her color came from her bright red eyes and cute little ribbons. "Hey Pandy, name's Jarek." He nodding. "Now, I do have one little rule." Jarek said, and then he paused and tried to look as serious as possible. "You have to shake your booty!" Immediately after Jarek said this phrase he realized Pandy would probably interprate it wrong, so to make sure that didn't happen he put on a really big, playful smile.

Pandy smiled. His one rule certainly seemed simple enough. Without thinking she started to run around and jump in the air, shaking her body as much as she could. The little bells that adorned the ribbons started jingling in unison to her moves. The slightly sour mood that had hung over her like a shadow due to waking up vanished quickly as the energy started shooting through her body. Exercising certainly did make one feel great.
"Jarek is an interesting name. Is it a nickname like mine? Though I suppose it's not much of a nickname when it's the same length. My real name is Panda but everyone calls me Pandy." She paused briefly to catch her breath. It really was a beautiful day and he stood out so brightly in it.

Jarek smiled as he watched Pandy dance around all over the grass. She certainly was a good dancer! Then again, his idea of dancing included spinning around in circles and stomping his hooves against the ground. After standing by and eying Pandy for a quick moment, Jarek started up again and hopped after her. His mane flopped around and partly scattered vision.
"Nope, that's my real name!" Jarek answered with a smile. Now that he thought about it, he didn't have a nickname! Listening to Pandy, it made sense that that wasn't her real name. But adding the 'y' made the name cute and perky, which suited her perfectly. "But you can make up a nickname for me if you want." He said with a wink. Every once and a while the sun would bounce off Pandy's bells and cause light to halo around her head.
((Sorry it took me so long! I had vacation and then a convention~))

"Oh, that sounds like fun!" The little usdia closed her eyes and taped one of her hooves against the ground. Jar didn't sound that appealing at all. Jareky sounded extremely weird for a male. Rek wasn't half bad. Reks.. Reks! "I'll call you Reks!" she exclaimed excitedly. She liked the way that sounded.
Turning, she bounded off again, jumping around, only this time she began to chant "Reks, Reks, Reks, Reks, Reks" as she did so. She didn't even stop to find out if he would even like it or not. She had made up her mind.

Jarek watched Pandy curiously. She seemed to be trying so hard to think of a nickname for him! Jarek couldn't help but think this was a funny sight. Now that he thought of it, his name really couldn't be turned into too many other cute ones. But then Pandy's face lite up and he knew she'd thought of one.
Reks?
Before Jarek could really respond, Pandy was bouncing away while chanting the nickname over and over. It took him a second to realize that it was the last few letters of his name. He's gone by Jarek for so long that the way he recognized his name was by the 'j.' But he liked the sound of it. It was a whole new perspective on his name.
"Reks!" He laughed, and then hopped off to follow Pandy around. "Sounds perfect! Now I can leave my old boring name."
