The scandal! Kissimmee could hardly believe the drama. This was far more drama then she’d ever witness, oh! She would be telling this story for years. That was to be sure! What sort of insanity was happening, nowadays? A lion with a crush on a wild dog! [And was jealous of the dog’s love for a leopard! Oh! Oh! Scandal!] After Kissimmee managed to break from her wild delusions, she had to be fanned by Jaden’s paw in order to recover.

“Are you alright?” Jaden groaned.

‘Oh, if only the girls could hear this!” The cheetah gasped. “Let me be perfectly, perfectly, sure I have this story straight.” She started, waving her hands. “You-!” She pointed at Jaden. “…well, you’re some kind of man-whore, so I suppose you can’t be blamed. But you’ve made this, wild dog, lady- fall in love with you?”

“I have that effect on women.” Jaden admitted, rather flattered by this whole turn of events.

“And you,” She addressed Atreyu. “Have secretly loved this…dog…but, because of obvious scandal, have never told her. And now that Jaden has made off with her, you some-“

“I didn’t make off with her!” Jaden protested.

“-thought that somehow beating up Jaden was going to fix this problem?” Kissimiee continued, not too concerned by the red leopard’s flailing.

Atreyu sighed. “Something like that. I don’t know. I just…thought… it felt like the right thing to do!” He asserted. “Some cad like you. She doesn’t even know you don’t care! You’ll break her heart!” He lamented.

Jaden waved his paw. “No no no! She can’t possibly love me, because she already told me she was angry at ‘some guy’ for never bothering to notice her. Now, if it’s not you, then you’ve got someone else to beat up but- I’m surely not the problem!”

Kissimiee’s eyes practically glazed over. “Another man…! What a scandal!”

Atreyu scoffed. “There is no other man!” For what it was worth, Kissimiee actually sounded unhappy about it. “…you mean… she loves me?”

Jaden was about willing to say anything at this point. “How am I supposed to know, you big baby.” He scoffed. “What if she was just using me to make you jealous!” Oh. Well, that explained a lot of things actually. Jaden flattened his ears. He didn’t particularly appreciate being used. In fact, it almost hurt.

But there was a fraction of Jaden that was not so self involved as it seemed. He sighed greatly and bowed his head. He hated being in the middle of drama. He loved love, but not this. “What if… you just need to be honest to her?”

“How can I?” Atreyu groaned, slumping. “It’s so hard to… say what I mean. How did you do it?” He peeped. “How did you make her love you?”

Jaden leaned back. As it was, he assumed the red lion was exaggerating the female’s love of him. But he did have a method.

Kissimmiee broke the conversation between them. “Clearly you need to be honest with her. How is anyone supposed to make sense of anything if you just run around clobbering anyone who gets close to her? It’s so droll. You have to have some class. And weeping isn’t helping.”

The bid red lion sniffed, and rubbed his whiskers. It was a pathetic sight- even for Kissimmee, who delighted in such things. Narrowly, the cheetahess circled around the precarious event, her dainty face scrunched in thought and her sleek tail flustering around her. She frowned. Lions always were so overdramatic about everything- and she was inequitably the queen of drama!

“Alright. This is what we’ll do.” She suddenly spoke. “I was due at my nephews, but clearly something is going to have to be done here for us to ever see the end of this. You sir,” Kissi directed, pointing a paw in Jaden’s direction. “Need to go and speak with this lady and apologize for misleading her.”

Jaden snorted, a tad rankled. “She mislead me!”

A low growl from the lion, and a shake of the cheetah’s delicate paw was all the red leopard needed to shut up. “Now, you.” The cheetah continued. “You need to go cry all of this baby nonsense out of you! Look at you. You look worse then a lion with a thorn in it’s paw, and that’s for sure.” She ruffled a hand through the lion’s hair, attempting to part it in some feasible manner. “Fix up these bruises too. You both look like lumpy pears.”

“Not entirely my fault.” Jaden short.

The cheetah tisked, and flicked her tail. “After that, we’ll all go together… and help you woo this Marzi.”

The grey eyed male’s head shot up, for the moment, looking revitalized. “Re-really?”

Jaden groaned.

“Of course,” Kissi toyed. She wasn’t exactly about to see this all in rumors now, was she? This was the kind of story she was going to need pure, legitimate proof of! And as a matter of fact- a dog that could cause such a scandal had to be something to see, right?

“Let’s go clean you boys up, and we’ll meet back and discuss our plans.”
