Music is one of the only art forms not discussed here, so I thought I'd make a thread for it. What is your take on music? Do you play an instrument at all?

I do believe music to be a form of art. The "Entertainment" subforum was included to kind of cover this area(among others), but you're right, nobody really had covered it in a topic.
And no, unfortunantly I do not play any instruments sad

Of course music is art! I can play the piano a bit, but I don't really play one.
Anyone who claims that Loreena McKennitt's music isn't art is just messed up.

Anyone who claims that Loreena McKennitt's music isn't art is just messed up. I totally agree! When listening to music when I close my eyes I can see some of the prettiest pictures ever whether I'm playing the instrument or not. I play saxophone, piano, guitar, and I'm learning violin as soon I get mine fixed.

Music is art in it's oldest form. There has been evidence of drums and other instruments older then cave paintings. And without it, my writing wouldn't exist.
I play just about every instrument known to mankind. Mu father has a recording studio, so I help him with his recording by playing in his songs.

Anyone who claims that Loreena McKennitt's music isn't art is just messed up. That part about Loreena McKennitt...is so true! Her music is absolutely beautiful! I especially love her Lady of Shalott ^^ But yes I consider music an art. I play a little piano and write a few of my own little short melodies, but I can't play anything like the Fur Elise. I do know Phantom of the Opera though...I taught it to myself from listening to my soundtrack without sheet music it was fun. I'm a Broadway fanatic, so I adore music and stage as an art!

Well "Whats on your radio?" is a music subforum. Its an every type of media subforum i guess, maybe its not clear that music stuff goes there xD

Eh, I used to play french horn, but I stopped, and am very happy I haven't gone back to it.

Love music... maybe more than art... except I could never create (compose) music myself. Uh, played piano, started at a young age. I hated practicing at first but I'm okay with it now. Also did trumpet in the school band for 2 years... but I want to learn the guitar!
