I play RO but on a different private server
And I have quit Maple Story a long time ago
Also playing too much MMOS/video games will burn out my eyes (I'm practically half blind, but thats from reading in the dark, with a very dim lighting, too many times... xP)
@Kire: Plus what do you mean you "almost" refuse to go back to maple =[, didn't you take meds to get unhooked from it? 0.o?

we are also looking into Rappelz, although that one look graphic intensive.
@caoxueli: I used to be hooked to maple. But it slowly died for me. So no i didn't have to take drugs to get off of it. I didn't need them. And now ive formed a bitter hate towards it... And i said almost because if everyone votes to go play it then i have little choice.

Well i played a few mmo's in my life and so far i like guild wars, but you have to buy the game first.
Maple story... i kinda got sick of it.... and i have no idea about any others.

There's a really good private server I help moderate, and fix bugs on. It's called BurningWoW and you guessed it, is a World of Warcraft Private Server.
BurningWoW's guide page. If you have any questions on how to get anything done on the guide page that isn't there, PM me and I'll do my best to help. My only advanced warning is that make sure that on step 3, you save it as a Notepad file. That is super freaking important.
Current realm setting I think is Netherstorm.
And Faction can safely be assumed to be Horde.

Its turning my cousin into a hermit... Same with Mika's brother
(Note: my cousin and Mika's brother are friends in rl)
And since they're University students I expect them to not have that much free time. Especially my cousin... (He is studying to become a genealogist or a nurse..)

I almost started burning wow... But i dont play anymore... Ive been playing mabinogi from nexon. Its ok but a little annoying due to the battle system...but the bs is good and keeps you on your toes.

I usually find those who hate World of Warcraft don't really know ANYTHING about it. If I say WoW to a non-enthusiast, they'll think sweaty fat nerds on computers in their mom's basement. If I say WoW to an someone who's played the game, they'll think Orcs VS Huamns, Horde VS Alliance, and of course, fantacy. It just gets me on edge when I see someone who screams WoW is horrible, when they really haven't taken the time to read the Lore, delve into the actual game, or even if they play, truely connect with their character.
Take my own mother for example, she HATES the game. At least, she did when she had to pay for it. Now that I'm on a Private Server I don't have to pay and she's fine with me doing whatever the heck I want.
Just a few days ago I literally sat on her bed, took out my laptop, and showed her every night for three days one volume of Tales of the Past which any WoW freak should know to be one of if not the best WoW Machinima ever.
My mom, who assumingly HATED WoW, turned out to love the movie more than I did, even though she lacked so much know-how of the game, she was still able to appreciate one man's great effort to make such a great movie. On a game no less.
Even recently, she's begun to sit down and watch me raid Black Temple, Zul'Aman, and Sunwell with my guild. Mostly she's silent, but she will occasionally ask a nice question like "why can't your mage wear plate, or carry a big sword?" to which I'll gladly give a nice answer. Slowly, she's begining to grow fond of the game, because she's learning about it, and delving slowly into Lore and game facts.
I would take a bet right now and throw down on the table nearly all of my possessions and swear to anything, that in the coming month, my mother would on her own, not through my persuasion, start playing WoW, and shortly after that, and after she gets into it, take up RolePlaying as her gaming forte.
So go ahead, say you hate WoW with the only knowledge you have being from what you've seen as a result. Say you hate it even though you haven't sat down to get to know the game or the story. Go ahead and say it. I will sit here, and I will shake my head, for your ignorance has just torn you away from a really worthwile experience that I will have that you may never have. Good day.

I agree wholeheartedly! Nothing should be judged by how it appears or how it is perceived! You have to experience it to accurately judge it! No offense to anyone, you are free to your opinion. If you dont like wow thats fine, then just don't play. And yes it can be absorbing or it may piss you off. But don't rant about something you "hate" because you think you hate it. For example if you play wow and hate it then you can assert your opinion. Like i said no offense. I have a friend who bases views on things without facts or having experienced the thing, or has one bad experience and never tries the thing again. (or hears bad things about the thing and bases her opinion on it) Oh and btw asserting your opinion that is based on nothing really REALLY pisses me off...and now im done with my rant for today. xp

((I'm confused by your question. I assume you're wondering why I voted Horde for all of us on the private server I suggested. Here's my reply to that smile )
Why Horde? It's asthetics. They tend to look scarier, so most younger less dedicated players tend to play Horde. Sure, end game number players STILL evens out, but the number of newblets that roam around mindlessly seem to be lesser on the Horde side.
And on Private Servers where EVERYONE is level 70 in almost NO time at all, you really don't want to see a really well geared player, ask him a bunch of questions about his class and armor, only to find the person has no idea what they're doing because they're too young to understand end-game mechanics about classes and gear.
Horde is just in 'most' cases a more newb-free enviroment, with more end-game numbers.
Did that make much sense?

well summer is over...has been for a while... My friends got me back into maple story... If i thought my previous addiction was bad...for 2 weeks thats all i thought about. Well im on a private server. Final Story. Its fun! xD 500x exp, 400x mesos, and 30x drop rate ( crying ) All the reasons why i left maple are fixed in the private server. So...any one can prescribe some good drugs to get me unhooked? crying
