The day wasn't exactly the clearest as clouds had started to gather over head and threatened to let the rain fall in great amounts. Standing under a small clump of beach trees, a young lavender and pink mare watched the skies with scornful eyes. Her hooves stomping the parched ground beneath them with intent on willing the clouds to leave and never come back until... She didn't know. Hot pink eyes turned away from the cloud littered skies and around the open fields past where she had come to momentarily live within. It was getting exceedingly boring and she felt it was time again to move on.
"ah, I was hoping this place would have at least, SOMETHING, fun." She muttered shouting one of the words at the top of her lungs. "But it seems to be as boring as everything else around here." The young mare huffed.
Letting her two toned tail twitch behind her, Melos looked once more to the skies. Glaring at the darkening clouds as the sun was slowly becoming covered. It wasn't much use moving on this day, the rain was sure to come and she hated getting wet. No she would remain there where it would be dry until the clouds passed, she could only hope that the wind wouldn't blow. Oh that would make things all the worse if it did...

The news of his adoptive Mum giving birth to her own batch of children delighted the tiny stallion to no end. Not only did this mean that there would be the sound of pitter-patter of tiny hooves soon, but now he could -leave- without feeling as though he had to come back and visit Charlamagne.
She had other things on her mind now, and his conscience no longer would bug him if he disappeared for a long period of time without telling her. Of course he'd still visit...the mare raised him from a basket, but now he could have a life without worry.
The life he had as a foal, actually. He was always up and about for an adventure without telling his Mum where he'd be. It didn't phase him back then that she might be on the edge of her chair wondering where he was, but now...now that's all he thought about.
So now he trotted along by himself, through an open field, a rather large grin plastered onto his face. He was indeed taller than the grass now, and it made him feel good to actually be able to see where he was going....be that where ever it was.
Black-beady little eyes gazed toward the sky as he walked. ...What? Since when did the sky look like that? Wasn't today supposed to be a good day? Well, apparently not, seeing as a storm would surely pass through. Time to find some cover.
Spot stopped trotting, and glanced around at his surroundings. That's when a pretty, young...female voice entered his ears. She sounded pretty upset, and very close. "Hello?" He chimed, hoping the voice he heard wasn't just an illusion. He could use a little company...

Having turned her back to the open field on one side of her small shelter, Melos glared at the other side. The clouds had yet to reach that side and she could still see the blue sky... Not that blue was a color to really connect with. Still it looked better then the grayness on the other side... Right? Tilting her head a bit something had caught her own hot pink eyes, something green and pink? Was out there in the exposed open where the clouds were advancing. She gave a slight snort thinking that the poor loser was going to get wet if it didn't find a place to hide.
"Not my problem." She muttered shaking her head, tossing her mane a little to the other side of her lavender and pink splashed neck.
Though the 'hello' that came from said pink and green spot in the distance caused her to look again. It looked like one of her own kind... though what was with the hideous green hair? Did they really want others to think that it was grass and try and eat it? Though the thoughts wasn't such a bad idea if one happened to be hunger enough. Straightening herself up, though she didn't move from her shelter, Melos aimed to answer said spot of color.
"Don't you know that you're going to get wet out there?" she pointed out waving a lavender hoof. "Better get under cover, unless you are like some losers and remain out in the wet, cold and..." She shivered at the thoughts. "Muck they call 'mud'." Ears standing atop her head she wondered of the reply that was to come.

Aha! So the voice wasn't an illusion! She was real! Beady black eyes darted around until they found their target, and he ended up grinning wildly. Not only was the voice real, but it belonged to a Usdia, just like him! Ah yes, a Usdia. He had from another of 'his kind' one time, what he really was...and longed to meet another since, but hadn't really the opportunity, until now.
But boy did someone wake up on the wrong side of the bed or what? No, no....no need to judge. She may just be a little snappy with first meetings. Spot grinned even bigger, and trotted over to her little shelter and stood next to her.
The female was young, as he was getting up there in age, even though he happened to consider himself a youngin' still...he could tell by her size that she was fairly new to adulthood. And that pink! So much of it...it covered her entirely! What a sight to see! Having been made of pink himself, he loved the color and the way it shinned....so Spot was proud to see it worn so beautifully.
"I don't mind getting wet, no...but if you insist on insulting me, I suppose I could join you in hiding. My name is Spot if you care to inquire, may I ask yours?"

Melos watched the 'spot' that would soon to come and say that its name was 'Spot'. Eyes narrowing as the older Usdia came closer, she noted the more clearly colored 'bright' lime green mane he had. Damn, was that the wrong color to go with the PINK tail?!? Shaking her head she looked again, it was true, past that green there was surely, truly pink. Though the male's voice interrupted her thinking and her hot pink eyes gave a glare, though turning more into a leveled look.
"Insult? Please, I don't insult, I just call them as I see them. For most the soquili around here are losers. Much like my brother" She muttered the last part for more or less herself to only hear. "But if you are coming into hiding, 'With' me then I suppose you aren't THAT big of a loser." She half sighed rolling her eyes half way to the side. "My name's Princess Melos, though do please call me just Melos. My parents have a fetish of some kind to name all and I mean ALL their children as royalty as my father has 'Prince' in his name."
Stepping off to the side, Melos watched Spot as he would come under her shelter as the first drops of rain had started to fall. Looking up toward the shrouded sky, Melos gave a grunt of a anger before stomping her pale lavender hooves, ones that were graced with pink lace like designs. Oh she wished the clouds would just go away, forever!

What could she possibly have been thinking? He stood there for a moment, just kinda staring at her as she mentally insulted his mane and tail, completely bewildered as to what could have been going on in that head. Or was she just utterly shocked to see another Usdia, because he certainly was!
"Well I prefer to think of anything that is not something nice to say is considered an insult my dear lady. No matter if you're just speaking your mind or giving your opinion, some things are better left unsaid." He grinned, happy to have proven a point to the young but pretty Usdia. Well, at least he THOUGHT he did. "And no I do not believe I am a loser, nor do I think you are"
Princess Melos? Oh-ho! Well, that certainly added to her character, didn't it? She was a prissy and perfect stuck up little thing, and now she goes off saying her parents named her princess? The thought almost made Spot laugh! -Almost...he'd never do it in front of her. "Melos it is then. Pretty name, thought if I may say so myself."
And then the rain started to fall. Ah well they were stuck under this for a while it seemed, and she wasn't the one to have a pleasant conversation, was she? What were they to do!
"So..." Spot began, taking his beady black eyes off the female for a moment and into the sky, "What do you do when it rains?"

Melos eyed the stallion before rolling her eyes, her head following the motion to where she was looking away from the moment. Soon her head snapped back toward the stallion. Her ears falling back to press against her mane, as her hot pink eyes glared at him. She wondered who this stallion really was. True that she hadn't met many of her kind, but still... Stomping a hoof she grunted at all the thought that were going through her head about this male that she would love to get out...
"What do you think? I get in out of the rain. Isn't it that obvious? I assume that you would rather be out in it? Getting all muddy and nasty?" she asked a brow raising as an ear eased off her her mane to listen.
She didn't want to reply to his earlier comments as she felt that they were idiotic. Shaking out her mane a bit she remained focused on the male, wondering what he 'really' wanted. It had to be something more then just talking to her... Not just ANYONE spoke to her without real meaning to. Though Melos minded to keep to her side of the shelter, though still keeping out of the rain that now poured out past the branches of her hiding place. She would be happy when it went away and the sun came out to drive away the mud and much that was left afterwards.
"Ack!" She just about screeched as a couple drops of rain fell past the branches over head onto her back. "Cold, wet!" She sputtered shaking herself feverously trying to get the feeling to go away even if more fell one drop after another off the leaves over head.
Stomping her hooves again she turned and kicked at the tree that acted as her shelter, thus bringing down a whole shower of water that drenched her coat, hair and dripped from her mane belly and well... Everywhere. She looked like something that just dragged itself out of a river or pond. Leaves had also fallen and they clung to her mane and tail. Now she was mad, wet and cold. Shaking again it did no good as her hair only clung to her coat making things even the more worse. Already small splatters of mud speckled her legs and hooves.
"Eww... Now I'm a complete MESS!" She stomped and screamed at the top her lungs as if it would matter. "Damned weather, damned trees, DAMNED EVERYTHING!" Melos stomped again, her temper rising to where it would be a foalish tantrum...

Sarcastic little one, was she? An amused expression made it's way to his face, but not one too obvious. He didn't want her snapping at him just because he was curious as to why she acted the way she did. But if a yelling was to happen, he could take it. He could take it if it meant having the chance to help this pretty young thing.
If she'd let him, which was doubtful.
"Yes, obviously...but I didn't mean it like that. I meant...what kind of activities do you engage in? Or do you just sit around by yourself all day, under a tree waiting for it to pass. And no, although I have nothing against the rain, I'd prefer to stay in someplace warm. Or with my Mum."
Spot didn't really take notice to the fact that she was bluntly ignoring the rest of his comments, acting as though it was a one-sided conversation. If he was merely there to listen to her, well...he'd do it. It wasn't in his nature to turn someone down just because he didn't find them appealing. If Melos wanted to use him as a verbal punching bag, then bring on the pain, he'd do his best to withstand it!
But what he wasn't expecting, as he was stored away in thought, was the screech that escaped the female. It made him jump a few inches in the air in surprise...what had she...or he, just done? And jeez! How could something so obnoxious come out of something so small! Ah, but one must never judge because of the size of another. Her voice could very well carry if she wanted it to. "I...uh..." The male began, watching as she was covered in raindrops.
The poor thing!
Then to add to the scene, Melos kicked the tree! She actually expected that taking her anger out on an inadament object! And such a poor tree, it was merely only a part of nature!! He winced as he watched the situation worsen, but an idea popped into his head to calm the poor thing down before she got...too upset.
"Shhh." He whispered, and rubbed his body up against hers as an attempt to get the loose water off her. "No need to shout, I'm right here." Spot laughed a bit, and repeated his action, now finding himself completely soaked in both the rain that came off her, and the rest of whatever fell from the tree. "Don't mind me, though just trying to help! And you're not a mess, it's rather a pretty sight to see you so wet. You know, your coat shines like that!"
Well, it was better than just standing there watching her have a fit!

Melos had stopped her stomping and going on as she felt something rubbing against her side. Eyes blinking she looked over toward Spot as even more pink came to already pink face. What on earth was he doing? She could feel her own coat prickling as the water was smeared around before leaving to collect on his coat, furthermore, she wondered what had gotten into his head to get 'that' close to 'her'. Hadn't she scared him in the least? Normally the stallions she met... If she had met some, would have been fleeing for the hills, why had this one insisted on remaining there with her? Ears twitching again she watched him as he stepped away from her, his own coat soggy now.
"Well..." She started, though now couldn't really bring herself to snap for the moment, but she would recover... Right? "When it rains I normally remain alone as there's no one to be around. My siblings are off seeking their lovers, Mother and father are off somewhere. Leaving me to be alone." She nodded.
Her attention turned to his comments about how the water made her coat shine, did it really? She had always hated the rain and wet for as long as she could remember. She never cared much for it even as a foal and her siblings splashed in it without care. Turning her head away, her mane still clinging to her soggy neck. Shaking her head and body, scattering what water she could from it again as Spot had rubbed off a bit of it. Feeling a bit warmer she looked over toward Spot.
"Do you really think so?" she asked batting her eyes all cute like, her expression screamed 'attention hog'. "Or are you just saying that to make me stop throwing a tantrum?"

He wasn't about to walk away from her just because she threw a tantrum. Everyone had their moments, even he did...and it wasn't anything anyone could control. So she was a little upset that her coat got terribly wet, so what? Everyone was entitled to their own actions. And plus, he really, truly wanted to help her feel better! It was in his nature to care, and so care he did.
Unless she'd want him gone, in that case, he'd leave upon request.
"Oh that's horrible! Parents should never leave their children, no matter if they happen to be adults themselves, and have families. Everyone always needs someone else to guide them and help them...I'm so sorry you're alone! Perhaps, if I'm not being too forward, I could be a companion? I'm not doing much lately myself, and could use the company as well."
He spoke with much confidence in himself, but it didn't have that cocky tone, he just knew that if he acted as though he knew what he wanted she'd accept. Hardly anyone turned down such an offer as company. Even if it was just for a moment.
Having only said that former comment to calm her little temper, he didn't really want to admit it....but he was right. Beady little eyes watched as she shook herself, and wow...her coat really did shine! The pink stuck out amongst the black scenery before them, and it made the male smile. Such a pretty young mare.
"Oh, of course! And no, most definitely not that would be horrible of me! You do look mighty er...gorgeous when you do that, how do you keep all the male Usdia's from drooling all over you? Is that a pain?"

It wasn't that she wanted him 'gone', really she craved company and hated being alone without anyone to talk to or at the very least share a shelter with. Tossing her head to get her soggy bangs from her eyes, they slapped against her cheek when they flopped back down. Turning her head away it seemed that the rain was already ending, a shower, that was all it was.
"Eh, they thought we were all old enough to care for ourselves and told us to spread out wings and fly away." Melos shrugged, "Mine are just broken and I haven't flown anywhere."
True she didn't literally have 'wings', but her mother had used the phrase to get her kids or at least Melos to go and make a life of her own. Her eyes watched the clouds sift away and let the sun shine again, Melos slowly stepped out from under the dripping tree and out into the sunlight. She was just waiting to see if the clouds were to come in again, but they didn't.
"A companion huh?" she asked turning her gaze away from the skies, "I suppose, if you don't have anything else to do." she nodded, kinda liking the idea of having someone around. At least she wouldn't be talking to herself... Right.
Though her nose scrunched up a little at the mention of other stallions. She hadn't met any 'other' stallions. Not of her own size anyways, she met a couple others that were taller then she was. But she was still taking in the fact that he was calling her 'pretty' and 'gorgeous', was she really? She had heard tales of stallions saying that to mares to make themselves look good. But she over looked that as an unimportant detail.
'What other males? You are the only one like me that I've met. If other males were, as you say, 'Drooling' all over me they would be biting their tongue." She grinned as her eyes narrowed lightly. "But as it is, you are the only one that's actually taken notice of me and wanted to talk."
She gave him credit for that, at least this stallion was kind enough. He also seemed like he 'liked' her, but she couldn't tell. Stepping closer to Spot, she looked at him closely, in a way she liked him. Not only that she liked his coloring, over looking the color of his mane, but she supposed she could get to like it... For now she would merely watch him, her ears planted forward to listen.

"Metaphorically speaking, of course. Everyone has wings, but not everyone knows how to use them. Perhaps yours haven't be given the opportunity to be shown, therefore you cannot find them. It's like how that saying goes about love, it always comes when you least expect it." He grinned slightly, his Mum taught him that one. She was a very wise mare, and although she wasn't of the same species, they were wonderful together.
He watched as she stepped out from under the tree, eyes darting toward the sky in curiosity as to why she moved. Oh! Haha! Was the storm really passing that quickly? Well then, perhaps today would turn out to be a better day that they both had expected! Perhaps it was also a sign...
"I wouldn't mind either way really. I'm no idiot stallion, I can take a hint when a females doesn't want me around. But if you would like me to stay, I will gladly oblige." Again, he grinned his innocent little grin, meaning no harm in his words. It was true, Spot wouldn't be hurt if she rejected him, as it was her decision what to do with her life....but he would be glad if she would.
When Melos spoke of him being the only one of their kind that she meant, it amused him. There seemed to be a shortage of Usdias in the vast land of Soquili, but still....to not meet a single one? He had met...oh, a good three or four, and a few as a foal, but wow....none? He should feel but honored! "Well it's good to hear that a mare like you has got a good head on her shoulders. And honestly? That's really sad, I'm terribly sorry! Stallions are mostly pigs, and they should be taught a valuable lesson. But perhaps they feel intimidated by your beauty?"
And then she stepped closer. Ah, what? Spot wondered whether or not it would be necessary to read between the lines, but he quickly shook that off. She was simply being polite, as he was to her.
...Right?

Her head tilted to one side a little as he spoke of perhaps she hadn't found her wings yet? How could that be? Well maybe she hadn't. Looking away, Melos watching the clouds drift further on their way before she stepped closer to Spot, looping around him, just about rubbing herself against his still soggy side. Stopping beside him, her pink eyes looking into his black ones, thinking that even if they were void of other color she could get lost within them if she stared too long. Two toned tail twitching wet behind her, slapping as it struck her side and leg, before swinging to the other side.
"Perhaps, but I have to wonder if I will ever find my wings." She moaned mournfully, "Maybe I had found them, but broke them when I first tried to 'fly..."
She didn't quite know, but right now she wanted to get the mud off her hooves and ankles. Stepping away from him again she walked out into the taller grass, shivering as the wet blades dragged against her body. She was going to find a stream somewhere, where she could wash up and perhaps a good place to sunbath and dry herself off before she started to stink. Though having a feeling that she wasn't being followed, Melos looked back toward Spot to see if he was coming without her having to say something.
"You... Coming?" she asked giving a cute look. "I don't want to go all by myself." Melos, play it up and you might get somewhere. she thought to herself as she batted her eyes. She really was an attention hog and Spot seemed to really 'boost' her ego.

At first his mind had been elsewhere, floating off into thoughts that were irrelevant to the conversation at hand. They had just been talking not moments before, but the pause that seeped its way through gave the stallion the opportunity to think about his family.
And no, not Charlamagne and her birth children, but his REAL parents, and any possible siblings. Would there ever be a day where he would meet them?
It wasn't until he felt something warm against his cold body, that Spot snapped out of his thoughts. A quick jerk of the head, and he looked at the mare before him once again, with a smile that told he had been paying attention the entire time. Well, if she hadn't said anything, then good, if she had well....
Oops...
But as he glanced at her, his eyes lingered a little bit more than normal, god she was pretty. The pink that she wore, she did with grace and it pleased his eyes to see such. ...Wait, what? Spot caught himself in mid-thought, had he truly just judged this mare based on her looks? No! That was absolutely, totally and completely wrong and he had no right in doing so....
....Melos was pretty though...
"Nah, that was just your naive younger self wanting to fly, but failing. When you are supposed to get your wings, they will come and you will know it."
He watched her move, before following her, taking in the sight of her body against the rest of the world. "Oh! Me? Oh! Yes sorry." Spot mumbled quickly, his tiny legs catching up to her without even giving the 'cute look' a second thought. "It's alright I'll go, I was just admiring the scenery." A toothy grin was given, and he started to walk by her side, wherever she was leading him.

Melos had watched him as he seemed to stare off into space, she had to wonder what was going through that little brain of his. Turning a little, well would have if he hadn't snapped out of his said trance and came scrambling over toward her. There was always the talk of wings, but she wanted to change that subject to something more interesting. Spot had mentioned something about the scenery. She had to guess that she was this scenery that he was watching.
"Ah-huh, and how does it look?" she asked letting her eyes lazily narrow a little. "I see it as dark and gloomy. Unless there was something in it worth looking at..."
She grinned slightly reaching over to n** at his lime green mane, no matter how short it was. Her own two toned mane was well long enough to tug, yank or pull. Her hot pink eyes still watched Spot as she pulled a head of him, if anything she was going to make him work to be near her. Tail swaying to the side to brush against his side, she picked up the pace to a trot.
"Catch me if you can." She teased weaving her way through the tall grass. Even though I know you can possibly catch me quite easily. She giggled to herself.
