Just wondering what everyone was doing for Litha (or Yule, for those of you who live in the southern hemisphere)?
My hubby and I are going to have a bonfire with the kids. I will likely have a small ritual later at some point...not sure yet.

I'm not sure yet. Hopefully spend some time outside (at the river, perhaps?) and have a small ritual as well.

I haven't made concrete plans yet, but that's largely because, well... see image below. My focus has just been elsewhere. On the floods, on the consequences of the floods, on how to help recover from the floods, on work (which has been affected by the floods), on future career endeavors, on relocating to a new area (fortunately for me NOT because of the floods)....
... it sort of makes it hard to consider Summer Solstice and the time of Fire when there's all this water everywhere. Though Gods know I've been petitioning Sun Spirit and Fire for help in evaporating all this bedamned floodwater. Maybe that's what I'll end up doing for Solstice: a much more highly ritualized petition to the Spirits of Sun and Fire to hasten evaporation and drying us out over here. gonk
Other than that I'll probably do some reading of Sun mythology as that's a tradition of mine. I'll probably redecorate my Solar Festival tree but I haven't planned out how I'm going to do that yet. I'll plan more out tomorrow. xd

Starlock, that is really unfortunate. I hope things start to become better soon, for you and the rest who have been affected by it.
I know it's not going to just recover all that quickly, though.

Maybe you should buy a boat starlock.

I'm gearing up for my annual Summer Solstice Potluck Cookout. It's a family and friends type thing, with the grill to represent the God and a moon bounce to represent the Goddess (don't you just love my warped sense of thinking?)
I was hoping to celebrate the first harvest of the year by including a salad made of my first crop of lettuce, but the high temps last week caused it all to bolt. crying I might be able to salvage some of it, I hope.

Haha, I jest. I'm probably going to celebrate early, because my mother's friend (who is one of the most devout Christians I've met) is coming over and I have to dismantle my altar as not to completely disturb her... XP I might burn a candle or some incense on Litha, but an actual ritual will most likely take place earlier. And Starlock: I'll definitely send my blessings to you and those who are affected by the floods.

xX Fallen Angel Raine Xx Maybe you should buy a boat starlock. (laughs) They were useful when the water was higher. Ironically there was one for sale down the street a ways for about two weeks before this all happened. Needless to say, it isn't there now. I think I might try to teach myself how to decoratively peel oranges. Citrus fruits make me think summer for some reason (perhaps it's summer lemonade drinks) and there's a local Japanese restaurant that carves them into all sorts of awesome things. Making a sun-disc would be easy. Presuming I have a knife that's sharp enough.

Promise me , when you see, a white rose you'll think of me...
I'm not quite sure what I'll be doing for Litha yet. Probably go outside and meditate if the weather is nice. For the past week I've been burning one of my smaller gold candles a little bit every week. On Litha I plan to wrap whats left of it and keep it with me until next Litha.
I love you so, Never let go, I will be your ghost of a rose...

litha...thought little about this...well...
I have these candle, little ones, that are shaped like little sunflowers, which i plan to light and watch burn. I also ope to make a small pit fire, but i think my parents will catch me, so it would be nice right about now to have a cauldron...sigh. But ill find something i can burn stuff in. Other than that, i plan to go into my woods and conect with the dieties more, and just bask in their glory. Enjoy how the mother if full of life at this time, and how the father is warm and joyfull as well. Just really have some me and them time...is all...

SlaineWildfire Probably not going to do anything, as I'm working. Again. Could you possibly do it another day? I'm sure the Lord and Lady will understand if you legitimately can't do something on that day, and will be more than happy if you do something for them around that time.

even if you don't get to do a ritual celebration on the day, you can still take a moment out to think about things, maybe communicate with the god and goddess and have a quieter sort of celebration. Shouldn't take long, if you don't want it to, so work isn't a huge problem...
and I don't want to lecture you, but be careful with fire...
I don't have any plans for yule as of yet but may make some... this thread has gotten me thinking

Hi all, This is my first post (other than the getting to know you/a little about me ones) since I joined the guild-with that said, Starlock I hope things dry out soon for you. All the flood victims are in our hearts and prayers... As for Litha, I'm planning on taking my family to a gathering in the park of a new Wiccan group here. It should be interesting as it's the first gathering of this group and the event was written up in a local paper. Only the God and Goddess know if that will bring the local "witch burners" out. We are all looking forward to it regardless. I will also have my own private ritual at sunrise.
