 Once again, she had traveled a good sitance from her mother's hunting lands, but this time she had a point in wher she was going... she wanted to see daddy. She was oddly quiet today as she moved in the shadows of the forest, there was no crazy giggling, no toying with the lessers she saw playing in the feild not far outside the forest line. Her tail twitched in an annoyed fashon and she let out a grumbling growl. Tossing her mane the little filly picked up her pace foldng down her wings tight to her back. She should have been getting near to Tnebrus' home but she wasn't exactly sure as she'd been here only once.

 Artemis hadn't seen her son since well he went off in a huff after meeting his father. Tenebrus didn't seem to like his fathers lack of speech but Artemis didn't care all that much. She loved Thestral and there was nothing that would change that. It meant she hadn't a clue what he was upto though. Sometimes she could check in on her children, Besyrwan was the one she was closest too and she knew what Shadrach was up to though he didn't know that which was fine. Her girls, goodness knows where they were but she knew they were around somewhere. She had too many children to keep up with and many more grandchildren thanks to Besyrwan and his lovely mate Christabel. Today she had just gone out for a wander, she hadn't really done it for any reason in particular, she had been pondering meeting up with Ghost again at some point, she missed the mare. She was a good friend. For now though she just walked over the fields keeping an eye out for any of her family or if she was lucky Thestral would pay her a visit. However she saw someone she didn't know but, well, who knows. She was very pretty that was for sure but she had never seen the foal before. She recognised some key features which meant Artemis wasn't about to go up to her, she didn't want a run in with any angry Kalona mothers, that was for sure.

Masquerade halted and stood snorting for a moment, daddy and Talon had to be here somewhere right? Tossing her little mane and flexing out her wings she looked around. Her pupiless glowing white eyes, that she'd been told by mommy and daddy matched her grandfather's perfectly fell on the strange lesser mare for a moment and she wrinkled her muzzle.
The mare almost reminded her of daddy though, she had the white patch, though slightly faded, her hair was almost the same colors as daddy and Talon's, and she had the same colored eyes just a shade or two darker. Masquerade wrinkled her muzzle, would daddy associate with such a mare?
Masquerade stamped her bright blue hooves and decided to just belt it out "Daddy Tenebrus! Brother Talon! Where are you!" She pouted and sat down waiting for an answer, if any came of course.

Artemis was planning on ignoring the youngster till it started shouting.
Daddy Tenebrus.
Her head snapped up, Tenebrus had children, could it be? It would make sense, she knew he lived near home her children never seemed to want to leave even if they did like to tell her how they hated her, well, at least Shadrach did anyway.
"Tenebrus isn't around here at the moment and if he is he probably wouldn't show himself around me. He is much like his father." She spoke softly to the foal who really didn't seem to like Artemis much. It was the upbringing and she knew that. She didn't mind, it was nice to meet a grandchild.

She huffed, daddy was apparently not here ... and she had wanted to brag about her first kill all by herself!
Masquerade tossed her mane and snorted indignantly at the mare, had that lesser truly just DARED to speak to her without permission!
It registered slightly that the mar head spoken of her daddy, but that didn't matter she still had spoken to her without Masquerade's permission to do so. The little filly's glowing white eyes narrowed to slits and she whipped around on the mare her lips curling back over her fangs in a snarl. "I didn't say you could speak to me lesser," she tossed her mane and stood up to her full height a look of conceited pride on her face.

Artemis just chuckled.
"I don't believe I need permission to talk to my own grandchildren. My it seems like my Tenebrus lacks the ability to teach his own children what I taught him. He is much more polite then you are." She chuckled a little. My what a funny daughter her son had created. Then again what was she really expecting?

Grandchildren? So this was her grandmother .. oh by the god Kalona himself she hadn't wanted to meet her lesser scum of family. She snorted slightly at Artemis "what do you expect? Me to just fawn because your my grandmother?" the filly hissed softly "well get over it mare, you are still a lesser and that is that. Besides, I rarely see father, my mother raises me as I should be raised"
Masquerade puffed up proudly flaring her translucent wings.

Artemis laughed.
"You do realise you aren't a fullblooded Kalona and never will be don't you?" She chuckled a little, she wasn't being harsh but this kid needed to realise she couldn't go pushing others about.
"Your mother needs to teach you some manners then. My mate is a Kalona of more pure blood then yourself." She let out a soft sigh. It seems that these foals weren't ever going to understand life. There was more to life then the blood that ran through ones veins.
"You may not respect me but just think for one minute.... that if it wasn't for me. You wouldn't exist." She was being harsher then normal. She wasn't even this harsh to her own children but then again her children knew who to respect.

Masquerade started to laugh, it was a sound of insanity, she would never seem to believe what Artemis said. "Do you really think because you are my father's mother that I will EVER see you as my family?"
Her muzzle wrinkled in disgust when the mare spoke of her grand father "no stallion of any proud blood would mate to a lesser, father is at least half kalona and ACTS like his breed, so I will love him as much as allowed, but you .. you will never be my family."
"My mother teaches me what I should know, you are a lesser, and always will be no matter if you've mated yourself to one of the kalona outcasts" She was being cruel, far too cruel to speak of her grandfather like that but she didn't care, he had asked for it mating to a lesser, he was just lucky so far that the stallion hadn't been found by other true bloods.

Artemis just laughed.
"It is hard to believe any foul mouthed beast would come from my bloodline anyway. Your father would be disgusted in you. He maybe proud but he is true." She couldn't help but find it somewhat horrifying that one so young could believe such rubbish.
"Whether you see me as family or not doesn't change the fact that we are. Tenebrus may not even be half Kalona, I believe my mate is a half breed which means you are not a full Kalona either. So get over yourself, thinking the way you do will only bring you trouble." Of course there was no way in knowing if Thestral was a full blood or not but he just didn't look like one. Either way it didn't matter.
"You are not full-blooded so maybe remember that when you try and insult others. After all if you carry on the way you are, you will live one very lonely life." She snorted a little. She would be having words with Tenebrus next time she saw him. Bringing up his children to have such a horrible mind set. She couldn't believe he would do it. Yes he was proud but he had never been cruel.

Masquerade laughed and laughed her fangs gleaming in the sunlight as her tail flicked behind her.
"You must be daft mare, have you not figured out yet that your words mean nothing to me? No, I may not be a pure blood but I'm more pure blooded then Daddy. One can only hope he doesn't corrupt Talon to be a lesser lover or I shall have to murder my own brother." Her snort was decisive and she cackled again, the filly was crazy her mind absolutely and utterly corrupted either by genetics or by teachings.
She wouldn't have minded at the moment had mother landed in a swirl of tree limbs and dust. Masquerade was strong and she knew it but not strong enough to take on an adult, and win.

Artemis laughed.
"Lets hope your brother murders you instead. No one deserves to live thinking such things." It was unlike Artemis to wish anything harmful on anyone but this creature in front of her made her sick. She was nothing but pathetic trying to be something she thought was amazing which in reality wasn't.
She snorted and turned to leave, turning her back, "You better leave, this is our territory and my mate will not be pleased to find someone insulting me and trust me, he can do damage, more then you ever will." She wasn't even sure if Thestral could hurt a fly but there was no harm threatening. She never wanted the foul creature near her again and this was her and her familys home.
She didn't care now if the foal said anything she was going. That foal must have the worst mother in the world. What a corrupted thing.

Masquerade giggled, she'd gotten under the mare's skin and she knew it and that in itself delighted the filly to no end.
"Your pathetic fly of a mate couldn't harm a hair on my hide. I'll delight in the day I'm large enough to rid the world of both of you." sh cackled darkly and flicked her tail making it snap like a whip. Tossing her mane she moved off in the direction she knew her father's home was. HE was whom she was looking for not this foolish mare whom though she could change her with words.
With a hideous and insane cackle she pranced off humming an eerie ditty to herself.
