his name is Monty and I LOVE him lol it might sound silly loving a fish but he has such personality.... heres his pic....(its hard to get a good pic of him cause he doesn't like the flash and has learned what a camera looks like...) Monty my betta here is another one that shows another glimmer to him.... Monty 2

He's a pastel opaque, as far as I can tell. The opaque gene is actually dominant, so I wouldn't call it a rare colour, although you don't see it as often in pet store fish as the reds and blues. (I'm assuming he's a pet store find because he's a veil tail, correct me if I'm wrong.) Opaque bettas are very rare when they're solid white.
I used to have a cute little female with the same colour. smile

OMygosh... well he is very pretty... I can honestly say I don't know that much about fishes... but I would say he's the prettiest lill guy I've ever seen!!! 3nodding

the almost clear color of your fish is because it is a girl, female Bettas have a lighter color then the well known colorful males do ,that is how you can tell the difference between male and female

monkeybeth the almost clear color of your fish is because it is a girl, female Bettas have a lighter color then the well known colorful males do ,that is how you can tell the difference between male and female no,he is a male he enjoys building bubble nests and the females don't do that and he has the long breeding fins.(he also enjoys flaring at me lol)I think it might be the lighting or the flash on the side of his tank....

He's so pretty. <3 He looks just like a male version of my little Lady Valentine.

He's so pretty. <3 He looks just like a male version of my little Lady Valentine. thanks smile i feel sorry for all wal*mart fish,I usually took the little hang on the side tanks (that they sometimes keep the male bettas in)and separated them so that they aren't flaring and stressing each other out(when they are both in the middle of the tank with their little tanks),and I did and this chick watched me(who works there) and then she got off her stool and moved them back! I was so mad I re did it after waiting for like 15 mins "looking" at the cat toys....I usually don't buy wal*mart fish but as I said it was literally love at first sight lolol
