User Image The ebony and ivory brute moved through the woods, the shadows reflected his own fatigue from the healings. Hurricane was going to live, be a bit gimpy and scarred up, but live, Tornado was looking for that lynx, and the little vain alpha-to-be had left the territory alive and in one piece.

The fatigue was from not just the healing but the fact the master of shadows had pushed himself from the black mountain. He had hopped to search out Vianna, left her rip into how she wanted after he told her the reasoning behind his actions on the night of departure nearly a couple months ago.

However, he just wanted to go back to his, well his and Fie's, willow, and sleep to recover his strength. But, like most things, the fresh shadows around the willow, rushed to coil around their master, and they brought baggage with them.

Words slapped the shaman in his ivory masked face like a thick limb. "b*****d?" his voice whispered on an inhale. That wasn't Fie's tone or voice, but the scent that the shadows ran with was something that pressed that word to the back of his mind.

That scent. He knew what it was from having been around Twister when she told him she was going to have a litter of pups. The emerald eyes jumped from the ground and his tired pace lifted, he knew who was pregnant, he just needed to see it with his own eyes.

Fie had spent her days at first in the darkness, she had left the willow to explore the light and meet others. The world was an interesting and confusing place now that she looked at it without the eyes of a killer, a skinner. She had met other wolves, and realized that her actions and words could affect them, and she now too could be affected.

After seeing the pain in Vianna's eyes she had considered leaving the willow, but she wanted to wait to explain to Adolfo she had not meant to harm anyone. Slowly she came to realize she was jealous of the younger female, jealous but also sad. Vianna did not deserve to be hurt and Fie worried that she had been the cause of the pain. Most of all Fiereza realized that she loved Adolfo, he was the Master of the shadows and she longed to remain beside him as the Mistress of the shadows, protector of his heart.

Finally as the weeks passed Fiereza became startled and sick with concern, she realized that for the first time in her life she was going to be giving life, nourishment, and love instead of taking them away. She was pregnant with Adolfo's pups. She almost cried when she realized the dangerous things she had done since he left, jumping on the back of a bear for one.

It was now as he approached that she had been considering leaving, if she left now maybe Adolfo and Vianna could work things out and be together...no one would be hurt. She felt a sharp stabbing pain in her chest, no one that mattered would be hurt, she had lived without emotions for so long that this strange heartache filled her. She moved to finish bundling up her furs tying them up with care, she would protect her children with furs, and love them as much as she loved their father.

But before Adolfo appeared in the willow to see that his nose wasn't fooling him, he caught a plump unsuspecting raccoon. Best not enter an area with a pregnant wolfess, the spirits only knew what mood they were in.

Prize clenched gently in his jaws, Adolfo moved like a wolf his age. Who would have known that him and his brother both would have a thing for older wolves? Not him, but the shadows whistled and then darted out before him, but then rushed back.

All happiness in his mind filled with fear as they told him that the Mistress was bundling up her skins. Adolfo lifted his pace and rushed into the willow's low hanging branches, kill still in his jaws.

"Phay, wha ah ew doin'?" he asked around the raccoon, emerald gems flickering between the wolfess and her pelts. Then he looked crossed eyed down at the raccoon, dropping it down before him and re-erecting his head with a tilt into it.

"Fie?" his voice soft, but the word was filled with the rest of his repeating question. What was she doing? Surely she wasn't going to split leaving him tracking her down for the rest of her and the pups lives.

Fie gave a soft smile at his first attempt at speech before gazing down at the shadows with a ruby glower, tattle tales. She sighed and walked over to Adolfo to nuzzle him gently.

"I missed you..." Her words were filled with raw honesty for now that she had emotions Fie found them hard to conceal. She buried her nose against his scruff and inhaled his dark scent with a soft feminine murmur. How she loved this Master of Shadows, Master of her Heart. She sighed and slowly moved to fiddle with her pelts

She slowly looked over her shoulder at him "Vianna came..." She wasn't certain if those words were enough, she paused ready to let him flee to ensure the younger female was alright. She would leave then, and they could be happy, he could be happy, that was what was important.

Adolfo wasn't a fool, well not completely and he knew the attempt at speaking was horrible, maybe it could be turned into a joke...even if he sucked at them with every ounce of life and shadows around him. However, when Fie moved her eyes downward to glower, he could have sworn he saw the shadows recoil a bit. They were transparent, non-physical and had nothing to worry about from an upset wolfess and her temper, him on the other paw. Not so fortunate.

Then she stepped up and nuzzled him, murmuring to him that she had missed him. His reflex and actions were to bury his nose into her fur, her smell was sweet, though...did he smell bear? No, it couldn't be...could it? That would be a question for later, as for now, the Shadow Master smiled, weak but still a smile. "I've missed you too Fie, but you're dodging my..."

Did she just say Vianna was here? A frown furrowed across his brow, maybe a couple months ago he would have turned and ran to go look for the female. However two big things kept him from doing such: one, the most important, Adolfo feared turning his back on Fie would allow her to slip out into the forest and forever keep running from him (Something he didn't like the idea of) and the second thing was he was too tired to deal with two emmotional...well atleast one highly emmotional wolfess.

"Question," he finished after a second long pause.

Did he dare ask the question that popped into his head about Vianna? Or did he ask the question about the faint bear smell?

"Why do you have a scent of bear on you?" his tone wasn't mad, more concern and he then looked to her sides in a sweeping glance. "Did you get hurt while I was gone?" Obviously, his Soul's mate wasn't high on his list of things to fuss about on this night of his return.

She watched the emotions flit across his face, and as he paused she felt a moment of fear, she didn't want to tell him about the pups. Fie was afraid that Adolfo would stay out of his devotion to the pups, and she wanted to be loved in her own right. He could have Vianna, and she would have her children's love. Still as he finished she smiled and let her tail waver with joy. The jealousy in her heart subsided and she gave a soft laugh.

"Well..not hurt, not too badly I ran into a bear..." She chuckled lightly. "I'm fine though and..." She hesitated before looking at him with an uncertain smile. "So are the pups. Our pups."

There, she had done it, now she worried for what might happen, not just for her, she could take care of herself. It was her children she worried for, even if Adolfo accepted them all remaining together, it would hurt Vianna and Fie didn't want that. Yet Fie feared that Vianna would be unable to accept her and her pups. This was most confusing, still she put on a brave front for Adolfo.

The shadows reached up and caressed their Mistress, this they were certain was permitted by their master since he didn't stop them. The thoughts that he read in her eyes told him he made a right decission in staying, and the waver of her tail was a plus for his heart.

This time he stepped forward, after she finished stating she was fine, along with their pups. The large, but lean male licked Fie's cheek, if there was a wolf more torn then Adolfo, he really would like to meet them one day, but for now he was only thinking about what was going on in the willow.

"I'm glad you and," a smile played on his maw, "our pups are fine. I worried about you while I was gone," he confessed. Even if he was fighting the urge to tilt his head back and howl, if he was that type of wolf to do something like that in a fit of joy. However, Adolfo wasn't, he was silent, stealthy and a dark shadow of the night.

"However, I'll state this again, you are dodging my question. What are you doing Fie? Trying to leave?" Yes, he was focused, but this wasn't just her life she was deciding for. Their pups lives hung in the balance, as well as half his heart. His voice was soft in tone, but he had had Fie in his life since being a teenager. How weird would it be to have the female just disappear now, even if Vianna wouldn't care, he did.

A great deal to be honest.

She smiled at the brushing of shadows, she felt them strangely like a warmth inside her. The lick was twice as comforting, and she leaned happily against Adolfo.

She sighed and looked down at last and decided to answer his question with honesty. "Yes...I thought to leave, when I saw Vianna...she was...hurt by our love. I did not mean to hurt her..." She sighed sadly before looking down.

"I thought that if I left you two could make things work...you could be happy with Vianna and...I could be happy with the pups perhaps. I love you Adolfo, but I do not wish to cause others pain anymore."

Adolfo watched as Fie moved to where she could lean against him. He was listening and felt that listening was highly important at this time.

Emerald eyes watched as the ruby gems looked down, the answers were coming. Any emotion that could have played on the male's face was hidden behind the Shaman mask he had learned on his journey.

That was until Fie told him that her leaving would open the door for Vianna and him, or so she thought. Even though these were just words, the male felt his heart aching to shatter, as it did on the night of the Beach before he left.

Sitting down, Adolfo turned his eyes towards Fie full force. "Fiereza, you're not the one that caused Vianna pain. She was just venting on you, I was the one to cause her that pain. I prefer not to hurt anyone, but it happens sometimes, emotions have their goods and their bads. Remember my mother?" A wolfess, who was now doing very well but still in a state close to shattering again.

He shook his head from side to side, "Fie, Vianna and I do have stuff to work through, but so do we." He looked at her sides for a brief second, "and I think our stuff is more time pressed, if not more important at the moment." The words sounded weird even to his ears, but it was true. Varibles needed to be dealt with before the pups were born. "

And I love you Fie," he paused and couldn't bring any expression up, "I know. Otherwise you wouldn't have jumped on the bear for the other two females." Oh yes, the shadows had told again.

His words were true, she knew that emotions could be both joyful and hurtful. All things had their good and bad. She lifted her gaze back to Adolfo's and gave a soft nod, still she feared that her actions had leant to this. Could she help loving Adolfo? As she watched him, the way the expressions were sealed behind his emerald eyes she knew that no force in Telk or beyond could stop her from loving this wolf. In her heart she felt the jealous questioning like the whispers of shadows Why not eliminate the competition? A pelt to wrap the pups in... She supressed the soft voices shamed that she could hear them still.

She looked surprised and smiled softly as he told her he loved her before laughing lightly her ears falling back sheepishly. "Well, that bear would have killed those two...they were just sitting there." She looked at him her expression more serious "I love you Adolfo, but do you love me for me? Or the pups?"

He nodded his head, "Without a doubt. I wonder what had the bear so mad to charge though? Or maybe he had just woke up in a bad mood." Adolfo thought out loud, but he then wondered if the others had at least thanked the wolfess to start the attack on the bear.

His thoughts froze at the tone and the question asked at if he answered right away, she would think he was lying. Answered to late then he was thinking too much. Great just the position he wanted to be standing in, personally a cliff was always better then a double edged question.

Adolfo looked at Fie. Green eyes staring into red pools. He let the question hang in the air for a moment, then he spoke.

"You came to me looking for help in understanding emotions. You had followed me, basically stalked me everywhere I had gone as a growing pup. When you asked for help, you moved into a den not far from this tree, a den that I could smell from here, it always had you sweet scent, and the scent of your skins." He took a breath, this was a long answer, but the words were bubbling up.

"Even then, before I knew it Fie, you were one of my closest friends. A companion that I knew would always be there like the shadows. But before I could register it and though I had strong feeling for even Vianna, I realized that I was also looking out for you.

The snapping of the doe's leg on our hunt, was not just a reflex for a healer. That was a reflex that was summoned up from my..." he sighed, "heart and even was reinforced with fear."

"So to answer you question directly, I love you for you Fie, and besides that if I recall you were the first to realize that I had touched the shadows over night opening them up from a whisper into just full blown talking."

Adolfo had become long winded, but he had been a healer/one that listened to the shadow/ and even tried to be a solitary wolf. Two out of three wasn't bad, but solitary wasn't something for a wolf like him. Yes a night stalker, but there was someone for everyone, and it seemed like he had two someones.

His words meant so much to her, despite the small pause she understood his answer came from the heart, and it was the truth. Besides her question had been loaded with meaning, with emotion. She gave the Shadow Master a soft smile and exhaled a tiny sigh of relief, she wasn't certain what she would have done had the answer been different. There was still the dark cruel stain inside of her, but surrounding it was the tenderness that came from love. She was pleased with the moat of emotions that kept the harsher voices at bay. Still she could hear the soft thrumming melody of Adolfo's shadows swirling around her, and she cared for them as much as she currently cared for the pups inside her.

"I always knew you were special Adolfo, but I never dreamed of how special, how much you could come to mean to me. I dreamed of being able to feel and love like others, and of someday having my own family, one as whole and perfect as I could manage. Now I am so...afraid that it could be torn away from me. I know that as much as I love you, and you love me, that your heart also thinks of Vianna, and I think of her too. Sometimes my thoughts are cruel and jealous, and sometimes they are filled with love and compassion. I wsh that we could all reside together, the loving, sharing, family that I dreamed of."

Fie looked down with a soft sigh and slowly lay down tucking her white paws under her as usual. She glanced back at the bundled furs, the bear pelt remained spread around the willow, her gift to Adolfo. "I don't want to be a source of distress for you, tell me to stay or go and I shall do what will make life easiest for you."

The small pause had seemed to be part of the right answer, the answer from the heart. She seemed less tense now, which was good, the last thing he wanted Fie doing right now was stressing out.

He slid down into a laying position next to her in the willow, and listened to the words she was now sharing with him. He didn't say anything during what Fie was telling him, he did however nod his head a couple time to the truth.

His eyes moved towards the bear pelt, the only one not in the bundle of skins she was going to run off with. Still his voice was restrained until he felt that Fie had shared all she wanted at a moment. Head snapped back and his words were quick to follow the last You.

"Fiereza. Fie, stay. If you leave that will be the biggest cause of distress for me. Not knowing where you are and if your safe. Not that I don't have every ounce of faith in knowing you will be, but there is always that slim chance of you not," he stated, nosing her neck gently.

"As for Vianna," he nodded again, "It is true my heart also thinks of her, but the both of you are what keep me going. Strange and weird as that may sound, it's the truth." There was a small smile that played in the darkness of his maw.

"That's because most wolves don't share one love, at least not at the same time. I'll bet she has the same feelings towards you as well Fiereza. After all you and I have shared something that Vianna and I never have, though no doubt she will want to skin me for breaking her heart. If she doesn't I'm sure Ajax will try." This was a joke, well partily.

Adolfo then moved the conversation back to what Fie had said about family. "Every since my siblings and I broke from my parents, I too had a strong wish for the perfect family Fie. However life through a curve ball and nailed me with a heart that was divided. With two wolfess' that had eyes the color of fire and ice, but like fire and ice maybe the earth can bring the happy family you wanted together.

I just need to know from you, do you want Vianna to be actually a part of the family? Even if I could possibly pursuade her into throwing up a white flag."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 20, 2008 10:51 pm

Fie smiled softly as Adolfo nuzzled her, and she knew she could not, would not leave him. Her ruby eyes filled with warmth as she rested her head on his paws with a sigh. "I cannot go, not only to keep you from distress but because my heart would cry too much for you." She nuzzled his chest before lifted her head as he spoke of Vianna.

"I understand, I admit that an emotion cuts through me often...jealousy...but then I think of how Vianna must feel. It is a hard thing to place myself behind her eyes, but then I feel such a compassion for her, I want to share my joy with her, our joy. I understand that we are both simply two sides of the same whole heart." As she listened to him explain she couldn't understand why anyone wouldn't share their love, it would relieved all this worry. She feared however that Vianna would never look at her in the same tender light that she had come to see the younger wolf. Her ears pricked as she heard what Adolfo said about Ajax and she looked at him seriously.

"I fear if Ajax tried to touch you I will be forced to skin him Adolfo...it will bring me pleasure." She looked down with a deep sigh, she knew she was supposed to control herself but the killing rage was strong in her and she longed to take the pelt from a stiff dead wolf again someday, vengeance was the perfect excuse.

"Your family...your pack is much torn apart, I have seen them and the packs that surround us. I do not want my pups affected so by the land, I have worked so hard to change too surrender my lifes lines back to the wicked whispers I've escaped." She smiled and looked at him hope in her eyes.

"I love for Vianna to be happy, to join us. I want us to share our love our feelings, she can aid me with my pups, and when her time comes I can aid her with hers, they will all be ours collectivly. We need never be seperated by the jealousy, greed, and cruelties that others suffer." She smiled softly, her words painted an idyllic picture one she longed to make true. The thought of Vianna and herself curled up with Adolfo and the pups was a peaceful one that invoked no feelings of aggression or envy.

When Fie rested her head upon his paws, Adolfo licked her muzzle as she sighed in a comforting manner. Touchy feely emotions, something that he himself had never learned from those around him, not like there were any of those feelings in Aqua Azul or it looked like this new pack. His eyes dulled and sharpened at the thought of the new comers, his unseen eyes would be locked upon them, for he didn't like their scent.

His attention snapped back to the time in the willow, Adolfo's emerald gems softening as he focused back upon Fiereza. "Then I'll try my best to make it to where you're heart doesn't have to cry too much, Fie," this was his promise. His hope, though he did hope not to make Vianna's heart cry too much as well. How the life of a shadowy lord went up and down hill.

"It's always harder to place ourselves in other's paws," with that phrase out, he thought of his brother and shuddered. Now there was a wolf he wasn't envious of with only one mate. Twister had brain washed Wazzam from his puphood, how horrible and now their pups were just as demented. He shook his head, no his pups wouldn't be like that, hell or high water.

Again, Adolfo's attention snapped back, he was starting to blame the fatique that was washing over him for the easily distractions. The ebony and ivory male had lost out on the last half of her words about Vianna, though he caught the threat to Ajax, loud and clear.

"I wouldn't blame you with Ajax, but when I meet up with Vianna, let her vent in any fashion she sees fit. The shadows will prevent me from dying, since I won't find her until a few nights have passed. Or until after the pups are born." He wouldn't stop Fie from doing what would make her happy. Even if it was morally wrong in the world of every day wolves, he just wouldn't scold for something that was rightfully justified.

His head nodded, "This pack is horrible for raising pups, if the family has any ounce of decency in it, they are torn apart at the roots. I don't know about the pack that Alas, my ultra-bright pink healer instructor, went to. From what I can tell they are small and well put together. I have no idea about the pack that has just moved into the area though. Do you know anything of them? Not that being part of a pack is really an issue, we will both keep them from the dark influences that come from Twister at least." Yes, though he was, quote, part of the Aqua Azul, end quote, Adolfo had steered clear of the main pack for a reason.

He listened to Fie talk, share her hopes, it warmed him to see such a being before him. She had really made great leaps and strides in her transformation. He really liked the idea of the three of them living harmoniously together as an unit.

"I might see how she would feel about that, but if she says no. Then I'll not bring that negitivity to our pups. I'll leave her to find another to share her days with," he ended, with a yawn and a shake of his duel colored head.
