This topic is mostly for fans who have read the series Twilight. As you may know, the movie Twilight is coming out December 12, 2008. And whom is suppose to play the most beautiful creature on the face of the Earth? ROBERT PATTINSON? Ok, this guy  is barely good enough looking for Cedric, but Edward? He's just not what I expected for either character. Sorry to those who *cringe* like this actor, I just thought they could attempt to find a better looking guy since these roles call for drop dead sexy men. Oh, and I know this belongs in chatterbox, but im putting it here because how many of you go to CB? Point proven. Plus, I can.

I happen to think he's going to be a great Edward. I've seen the movie poster, and it sent delicious shivers up my spine! He's got the whole brooding sexy look thing down, that's for sure, look!  He's right for it, I think. Look-wise, anyway. He has the sharp, angular features the role calls for, and can definitely dazzle people with those eyes... I don't think they could have ever found anyone quite sexy enough, but I think they did a good job.

I agree He has times when he looks good and he had times when he looks not so good but he is a really great actor so I hope the movie is as good as the book. (( eek I know I love the twilight series!))

Alice, darling... The movies are never as good as the book.
Case in point:
Harry Potter (1-5)
Interview with the Vampire (a tedious book, yes, but still better than the movie)
Queen of the Damned
Bridge to Teribithia
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Etcetera.
But yeah I think he'll be pretty good. It's the girl I have reservations about.

I for one think that he was a GREAT! Cedric. But I don't know about the Edward part. I see what you mean by drop dead sexy [I've read all the books so far] but I think he could pull it off quite nicely, but it would be better capture the image of Edward if he was better looking. Besides, for some reason, he doesn't look as good as he did when he was in GoF.. *shrug*. Hm. Me and Twilight_Of_Life were just discussing this. We think other people would do better as far as looks, but we can't tell yet as far as acting.
But I think he'd be a good Edward. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, the girl that plays Bella sure LOOKS like a Bella [ex. the Hair, eyes, complexion], but from the trailers I've seen, I don't think she acts like her very well. I like the way I imagined Bella MUCH better.

I would suggest Ben Barnes, but then I'd have to be Bella if he was Edward.

I don't know...what's the actor's name? He fits Edward alright (with a massive blob of makeup XP) and should be able to pull off the part. I think Bella doesn't fit at all XD
I don't think the actress for Rosalie fits her description either. :/

Exactly to me Bella is totally wrong, I always expected someone like really pretty like in Stephanie Meyer's website she hoped for the girl who played in the series of unfortunate events movie to play Bella. I am super excited for this movie!

From my fairly unbiased perspective, I actually think he's exceptionally good looking. Also, he seems to have a sense of humour about the role, which I think is essential to making Twilight a bearable film. He seemed to be having a laugh on the Harry Potter set (she says, trying to make the thread more HP-relevant) and I think he'll make Edward as much of a heartthrob as he made Cedric.
KimCL, you said that he was "barely good looking enough for Cedric" but not for Edward. I always thought of Ced as being every bit as good looking as Ed.
Anyway, after Goblet of Fire, there were plenty of otherwise perfectly sensible girls turning fangirl for Robert Pattinson. And really, I think that with both Cedric Diggory and Edward Cullen, it's more important that the boy they cast can inspire a fan frenzy in a certain group of teenagers than that he be actually good-looking. Some people just have the qualities that attract the crazies.

I think that Robert Pattinson plays the role nicely for Edward, as well as any human could xD. Hopefully Bella we appear nicely too. Either way I am looking forward to the movie!!

Ugh. I think Robert Pattinson doesn't really fit as Edward's role...
Scratch that. I'm not even going to see Twilight because I think it's probably going to suck compared to the book. The actors don't at all look like I'd expected them to... ):
