Ziarre hadn't personally been privy to the conversation between Pyralis and Zaliwa, but since he was still around, she trusted it had gone well enough. An ushujaa, as well, since he was sleeping near her own watchpost at the moment. Green eyes gleaming as they flickered towards him in the dim pre-dawn light, she found her eyes resting on the still-fresh wounds she'd inflicted on him a day or two previously. The shoulder wounds looked like they'd had a halfhearted attempt at cleaning, at least, but the ear appeared untouched. The lioness frowned at this...was he trying to get the damn things infected? With a soft sigh, she padded over and unceremoniously flopped down on top of Pyralis' unconscious form to pin him down should he wake up. Giving the wounded ear a rough swipe with her tongue, she waited for his reaction, should any come.

Far too used to sleeping undisturbed, Pyralis had gotten the notion that he would keep up such things even surrounded by lions he was unfamiliar with. Partly familiar, but still unfamiliar. So when the feeling of paws on his body came, subconciously part of him thought perhaps he'd gotten in the way.

Ah well, they'd be able to move around him. Or at least -he- was going to make them have to move around him, as he had no mind to get up. Heck, we wasn't even going to pretend he was awa- What the crap just happened to his ear?!

The lick to the ear received a jolt of response, the black male suddenly jerking his body and lifting his head from his legs, head whipping up to look at whomever it was assaulting his he-.. Oh. Just her. Pyralis made a face at Ziarre, complete with a leer and a frown. "That's my ear." he stated gruffly. Well, no DUH.

Ziarre made a face right back, after giving his ear another swipe. "Really? I hadn't noticed," she said in a tone dripping with sarcasm. "However, it is also filthy because you haven't touched it in the past two days. Dirty wounds mean infection, or have you forgotten that somewhere in your travels?" Pausing, she gave him a hard stare as she awaited his answer.

Pyralis jerked his head away from her and bore his teeth at her, not exactly keen on the assault on his ear. Cleaning it or not, it stung from being touched, more from the fact felines had rogue tongues, and that -she- was the one touching it didn't please him anymore than he was already displeased.

"Yeah yeah. Like you'd care." he grumbled, shrugging his shoulders a bit underneath the 'pinning' paws, before looking away from her and shifting his weight, seeming quite intent on just getting up to get her off his case. "Besides, I'd like to see you lick your own ear." he added.

So he'd admitted he just -couldn't- clean it. However, that still left him with being too prideful for not having someone else fix it for him.

"As a matter of fact, I do," Ziarre snapped, glaring at him. Seriously, why did men have to be such babies? Realizing the implication of what she'd said, she hastily added, "You're a comrade now. That means if I can help, I help. It only takes one infection going bad to kill, so lay down and take it like a man, will you? It's better than having it bitten, I bet."

Phew...disaster averted.

Well obviously Pyralis had totally missed some 'hidden meaning', as Ziarre had tried to cover up -some- thought she'd said and he'd totally not gotten why. Yeah, she cared to be nosy into his affairs. Big 'Woo hoo' for him, right? Yay, he'd volunteered to be a freakin' punching bag and now was being treated like a cub. Ish.

"And it doesn't matter to you if I give a damn or not, does it?" he hissed, settling down only so slightly at her provocation to take it like a man. Well, if he had to sit there and be doted on to be a 'man', his masculinity was slowly melting.

Oh yes, and when it melted enough, she'd lick up all the melted manliness and run for the hills cackling madly. "And for a matter of fact, I -do- like the feel of it being bitten more than you LICKING it, like I'm some sort of meal." he added, tail flicking.

"Not really," Ziarre quipped, giving it a particularly harsh swipe. Giving him a sideways glance, she continued, "You know, you have to bite to eat, too. So biting it should really feel the same way. Ever think about that, Mr. Feels-Like-I'm-Being-Eaten?" She smirked slightly as she continued, tail flicking in a self-satisfied manner.

The harsh swipe earned a bit of a wince from the dark furred lion, who looked up at her and again let out a growl, disapproving of the rough behaviour used on the tender and... well, partially unhealed peice of ear.

She made a good point with her comparison about biting with the one he'd made about how the cleaning felt. However, it still felt like she wanted to eat him. Sort of. "Didn't really care enough to." he stated off handedly, not liking being bested in his failing logic. Which he had just been.

Again, he jerked his head away from her. "Okay, it's clean. Leave it alone." he stated. His ear was only so big, how long did it take to clean something smaller than his paws with less surface area?

Ziarre snorted slightly. "I'm sure you didn't," she said, her tone implying something rather different. Really, men could be the biggest babies sometimes. Starting in on his shoulders, she commented, "Fine. I need to get your shoulders now, anyways. They're a little better, but you seriously don't clean these well enough. Notice I cleaned mine?" It was a matter of moments until she was finished, at which time she rolled off of Pyralis and onto her side. "There. All better, and it didn't kill you."

He fidgetted awkwardly, obviously unused to the female attention first of all, and secondly unused to someone giving him a bath. It'd been years since he'd done more than romped in some water. Literally just walked through it, not really gone and gotten himself really 'clean' ish aside from clearing the dust before going off on whatever he'd already been doing.

At her smug expression he leered at her, then looked away, ears flattening back into his mane. "Not yet it hasn't. I don't know where your mouth has been." he stated.

Afterall, the mouth was the source of allll germs. Or rather just had a lot of them.

"Several places that yours hasn't, judging by the dust," Ziarre sniped, raising a brow as she glanced at the rest of him appraisingly. "What you could really use is a good dunking in the nearest body of water." With a light smirk upon her maw, she started making plans to 'accidentally' shove him into the next one they were both near. Pyralis had to drink sometime...
PostPosted: Sun Jun 15, 2008 10:39 pm

Pyralis made a face at her statement about the level of dust on his coat. He happened to -like- the dust. The dust and the scars. Made him stand out. Not in a good way, but he didn't care. He -liked- the negative stigma. Made people stay away from him for the most part.

It was her comment about Pyralis making friends with water that made me make a serious face, slowly sitting up and giving her a light hiss of disapproval. "No, I -don't-. I happen to like the dust." he pointed out. And the scars, and the rough patches of fur and..

He'd make a hobo look good to say the least. "And yes, I'm still black underneath it all."

"Right...I'm sure you are..." the tawny lioness replied in a dry tone. "But while you've got open wounds, you're going to take baths if I have to shove you in every time you get a drink. So either you do it voluntarily, or I 'help' you along, got that?" Rolling to her feet, she put her face almost right up against his, staring at him expectantly.

He seethed a little bit at her 'demand' of him. "Well, they wouldn't -be- open if you hadn't just reopened them." he grumbled, very unhappily. She could -try- and make him take a proper 'bath', but he wasn't about to. Oh no. He'd make drinking water -poisonous- with how long dirt on him had probably had to become toxic. If it did. Pyralis didn't know.

Lions didn't do science experiments to find this sort of stuff out.

When she rolled to her feet to give him the stare down, he gave her a -very- bored look, seeming unthreatened, before he threw himself back down onto his side to resume his nap. What she wanted to attempt was none of his business.

He'd just be prepared for it.

Ziarre shook her head in a pitying fashion. "They were starting to ooze, you great idiot...what, you would rather they have become really infected, to the point where a bloody leaf couldn't brush against them without pain?" Pacing around behind him, she leaned down and gave a yank to the scruff of his neck. "Bath time. Now." Giving him a threatening look, she continued, "Don't make me drag you there."
