I just bought a Gamecube.
I was actually going to buy a Sega Genisis, but they were selling them for the same price as the Gamecubes. :S
So the only game I've got is the Sonic Mega Collection.

I can't buy any DS games right now, because all the ones I want aren't out yet. gonk
So I'm really bored.

I know for sure that I want Harvest Moon: Magical Melody.
I'm a little iffy about A Wonderful Life, and Another Wonderful Life, supposdly they sucked.
And I was looking at Tales of Symphonia, and LoZ: Windwaker.

What else is good?
I know absolutley nothing about Gamecubes. sweatdrop

I'm playing Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life right now; being a huge fan of the PS1 games, and of course the N64 version, this one is pretty good in comparison, but not better. The great addition is that you can watch your child grow up to an adult, and there's some neat new hybrid crop feature. The overall problem I had with the game is that it doesn't inform you on a lot of things. I had to go to Gamefaqs to figure out how to unlock the hybrid crop feature, a definitive addition to the game... xp as well as figure out where/how to plant certain crops. I wish the game better informed me on things like this. Overall I don't think it sucks, I think it's very decent but like I said I wished the game informed me better...oh and there's no festivals...well there are but like...3, and the game gives you no indication of how to trigger them xp

I want to play Magical Melody, I think it looks excellent! I also want to try Skies of Arcadia, an RPG remake of the Dreamcast version with SKY PIRATES! pirate

Windwaker I heard is very good, Tales of Symphonia as well!

I think that the "Tales of" franchise has some pretty good games... try that if you like RPG's.

Nomad: I was actually thinking of Skies of Arcadia, it was on the memory card that came with my Gamecube. xP
I asked an actual Harvest Moon forum about the other one, they said if I can't find 64, then I should get Magical Melody.

I have both versions of DS, so watching my kid grow up isn't really exciting.

Captain: I don't really know if I like RPG's, I know I like LoD, and Tactical RPG's.
And one's that just let me slash away at stuff, without putting me into an actual battle.
Like Legend of Mana.

If you haven't played the N64 HM game, I would HIGHLY recommend playing that one first. It's still the best game of all the series, hands down.

The combat in Tales is real-time for the most part.

HM64 was actually the first one I played.
But that was quite a long time ago.
I have an N64 too, so it's just a matter of finding it.

But I have less games for my GameCube, so I want Magical Melody.

Magical melody is fun, but...

You can deffinaetly tell they were aiming for a younger audience.

I mean, you've played the one for gameboy advance?

The stroyline with the characters is so detailed, and very adult.

In MM, it' like they dumbed evrything down.

But if you're not interested in that you'll be happy to know you can buy property (the entire town!) and a real plus, is that this game has a metre that tells you how your relationship with animals and the twonsfolk is like.

Ahh, you can buy property!? Very cool! mrgreen And that meter = convenient! The dumbed down characters is a shame, because one of the great things about HM is the surprisingly adult back stories of some of the characters.

yeah, it really disappointed me and actually made me put it down on my third year.

It really is dumbed down though...

And the finding musical notes isn't bad, but a hassle, kinda gun, not really.

The general 'look' of it and characters is too chibi for my taste.

Though I like how you have a choice of where you can build your house in the beginning, you can have more than one barn or chicken coop.

I only wish all its perks were put in something with an adult package xd

I like childish games just as much as adult ones.
I'm actually normally into very childish stuff, with ridiculously cute chibi characters. >>

Yeah, I've played the GBA one, I have MFoMT.

Are the musical notes worse then collecting Harvest Sprites, like in DS? D;
Because those suck.

Well, in the beginning of MM you have like no health ( you get to see your health bar! ) and you can only do like... four things before you die.

As you collect more notes you'll get perks, like a health berry.

But (I want the one for DS crying ) those sprites actually help you surprised

It drove me insane though, it was horribly chibi. You see them breath and you wonder how they reach their toes without falling and not being able to get back up >_>

Also, when you go in caves time continues! gonk
PostPosted: Mon Jun 30, 2008 8:12 pm

How do you collect more notes if you can't do anything. ._.

I never use the sprites, I use the fishing, and lumber teams to get the other sprites from those teams, otherwise, I completly ignore them. D;
I have DS, and Cute.

Now that sucks. D;
Are the mines/caves really big too?

Five notes gets you a boost.

You can walk around and pick things up, eat food to replenish health

You have a bonfire set xd

I would get Cute, but all the girl bachelors are... OLD! crying

The caves are huge, a hundred levels on the main one, five hundred (never got to the bottom) on the other one and... You have vents that blast you down anywere from 2-20 levels, but they also can blast you up...
PostPosted: Mon Jun 30, 2008 8:33 pm

Luckily I have MFoMT too, so I can get all those bachelors. There's always Skye, the special bachelor, but... yuck.

Dang, I'd never finish those mines.
