What's our battle field?
The Fire Field!
A series of thick rock pillars, all different sizes of height, reach towards the stadium ceiling from a pool of hot lava. While there is a fire-proof net far below to catch any pokemon that falls off the platforms, the rock pillars themselves are very hot to touch. They can cause burns if your pokemon stand still for a set period of time. The air around the field is very heavy from the extreme heat.

Day walked out onto one of the tall rock pillars and hopped around when she felt how scorching hot it was. She felt sorry for Faith and Cosmo, as well as Luna's non-fire types, because they were without shoes, and had thick, hot fur.
She spotted Luna and waved, remembering her from their previous meetings. "Hi! Are you ready? This battle is literally going to be hot!" Laughing at her own joke, she gripped her three Pokeballs.

Luna chuckled as she took her place on the red trainer platform. "I'm always ready Day!" She replied. She fingered her pokeballs as well, debating who to use first. Nine had an advantage on the field, but ChuChu and Albireo were more experienced.
Albireo's pokeball wiggled excitedly while Nine and ChuChu's remained calm. ChuChu seemed to have mellowed since her losing streak, losing confidence in herself. She had to fix that straight away.
"Let's begin, shall we?"

"Okay Nine, you're up!" Luna grinned, enlarging Nine's pokeball and throwing it towards a pillar. The ball opened, letting out a flashing white light that soon formed into a ninetales. With it's job done, the ball bounced back to Luna's hand from the recoil of releasing the black fox pokemon.
Nine sat on a pillar, very content with her surroundings. The heat was lovely.
"Nine! Start this off with earthquake!"
"Nine!" The ninetales rose up on her hind legs. Her tails flared around wildly behind her and her paws glowed. She slammed back into the ground, creating a massive rumbling in the stadium and small cracks to appear onto the rocks.

"Alex, go!" Day said just before Nine made her move. As soon as his big paws hit the pillar, a big chunk of rock fell from beneath him into the lava, and he slid, scraping himself against the rocks and dirt. Before he hit the bubbling pool, though, a net caught him, and he sprung back up.
"Argh!" The earthquake made Day stumble, and she kneeled to keep her balance. "Alex!" Go under the lava and use dig!
Alexander shot into the pile of rocks and no one could see where he was, but he was racing under the lava, building up speed before he attacked. When he sensed Nine above him, he pushed up through the rock towards his target.

((Pinkeh, just letting you know it's long pillars over a lava pool so dig makes no sense, but...it IS the pokemon world 8D;; ))
"Under you! One last earthquake and hop away!" Luna warned her pokemon, spotting a crack on the ground under her ninetales before the firefox pokemon noticed. But she believed Nine's speed could outmatch the arcanine. Hopefully.
Nine swiftly slammed another paw into the ground, causing the pillar she stood on to rumble. Wasting no time, she made a jump to the next pillar right about when the arcanine popped up, escaping with a bad scratch to her hind right paw.

Alex jumped out of the pillar just in time to avoid being crushed by the boulders Nine had caused to fall. When he emerged, though, some rocks fell, and he was sent tumbling down onto the safety net below. One of his paws fell through and was scorched from being so close to the bubbling lava.
Day was panicking, scared that Alex was badly hurt. "Are you okay? Use extremespeed to get back up!" She yelled down.
Hearing his owner, Alex shot from pillar to pillar, never stopping long enough to fall, but finding footholds in each one. When he neared Nine, he took a long leap and aimed for her side.

The trainer heard the next attack and knew that she and Nine would have to do something fast if they didn't want to be hurt too badly by the attack. That Arcanine was coming at them and FAST. "Use Earthquake again to set off his motion Nine!"
One of Nine's tails smashed into a rock pillar, creating another rumble throughout the field. Right afterwards, Nine was rammed into by the attack and tossed down into the lava pit. She was caught by the net but still pretty injured from the last attack.
Meanwhile, the pillar Nine was at began to crumble from the strength of her last move.

Day heard Luna and thought of what to do before Alex landed on the rumbling pillar and was sent back down. "Alex, keep bouncing off of these pillars, but don't land yet!" She screamed frantically.
Alex could barely hear Day over the deafening earthquake and crumbling rocks, but still knew what she meant. Although tired, he landed on each pillar again for a fraction of a second, until the earthquake subsided.
"Land and then use leer!"
Alex finally decided on the most stable pillar to attack from. Looking down at the Ninetails, he glared, his green eyes like lasers to lower her defense.

"Nine, don't be intimidated!" Luna ordered, even though Nine didn't really need the reminder. She had plenty of experiences like this in the wild. "Let's get them right back with earthquake!"
The Ninetales almost unconsciously stepped back because of the glare, but her trainer's voice broke through. Without a second thought, she slammed her own tails on the net again, causing a shockwave to vibrate through it and at the pillars.
Cracks began to form once again on Alex's pillar.

Again? Alex thought when he heard Nine's trainer. He jumped up again, but was too exhausted from leaping around to go very high. Falling back down, he felt tremors ripple through the rock before they crumbled and sent him down to the safety net. He got a cut when a sharp rock landed on his snout.
"Alex, while you are both on the net, use bite!" Day said.
He lunged at Nine and snapped viciously at her neck.

Coming up with one of her crazy battle plans again, Luna ordered her next attack. "Dig!"
Nine's paw glowed as she slammed it through the net, causing it a hole to form. She slipped through the hole and into the lava. All Alex's mouth was able to grab hold of was a few strands of fur from her tail. Of course, they did get pulled out and it DID hurt. The arcanine would pay.
"EARTHQUAKE!"
Now inside the lava, and quite at home in it, Nine slammed a tail into the lava to create a rumbling. More rocks started to dislodge from the pillars, coming down at Alex.
