Explanation of the tenets by Smeesher:
BloodStorm Elite is a casual guild of elite members.
We believe that this game is meant to be played for fun.
We will have scheduled raids, however, specs / attendance is not mandatory. There are other ways you can benefit the guild if you are unable to raid with us. The leadership of the guild will endeavor to create an atmosphere that is enjoyable to everyone.
We believe that if you surround yourself with good people, then good things will happen.
We believe that everyone should be treated equally and fairly.
Treat others as you wish to be treated, including non-guildies. This does not mean that you can’t joke around and have fun. Just remember that constantly picking on people (even in jest) will just wear out your welcome.
We believe that our reputation as a guild is directly related to our reputations as individuals.
At first it was the individuals reputations that when put together made the reputation of this guild. We have now been around long enough, and become large enough that our guild reputation now extends beyond personal reputation. We have a VERY GOOD guild reputation, and as a member of BloodStorm Elites, you have a responsibility to uphold that reputation. Any action that reflects negatively on the guild will be addressed directly by the Guild Master and I take this very, very seriously.
We believe that discussions of race / religion / politics do not have a place in guild or party chat.
These topics will be left out of guild chat. If you want to discuss them privately with someone then do so in a party or group or in a separate channel on vent. This includes swearing in guild chat as well. While once in awhile is okay, having virtual Tourette's syndrome will not be tolerated. Let’s try to keep Guild / Raid / Vent as close to PG-13 rated as possible. ANY AND ALL RACIAL COMMENTS / RELIGIOUS COMMENTS / WILL BE FIRST TIME VIOLATION KICKABLE OFFENSES.
We believe that we are a team, and can accomplish more together than we can as individuals.
We believe that it is important to put the needs of the guild over the needs of ourselves.
We believe that loot should be shared equally with a mind to the betterment of the guild.
This is a game in which it is necessary to have a team environment to experience the full content of the game. Your guild is your team, and we must always consider the needs of the guild over the needs of the individual. We have no problems passing on loot to help someone else. Running the same instance for the 50th time so that someone can maybe get some gear they need. Donating items to the guild banks. Using our professions to help one another. These are all things that members of BloodStorm Elites are expected to do, not in the hopes for some reward, but just because they believe in the guild, and want the guild as a whole to succeed.
Addendum 1: Didn't think something like this would be necessary, however. With the above statement, I feel the need to clarify that:
1. Guild members always have priority on our current progression content.
2. A non-guild member may fill ONLY if that spot cannot be filled by guild members.
3. #2 includes cases of having proper class balance.
4. BSE may run other instances with other guilds, as long as it does not prevent them from running with any events they are being counted on for.
5. 5 mans and heroics, there is no preferences here. Do as you will. Just don't dishonor BSE.
Addendum 2: Any potential abuse of the guild bank will be treated in the following manner:
1. Immediate Demotion to Apprentice.
2. Investigation of the Bank Transaction Logs.
3. Immediate removal from guild if abuse is obvious.
Abuse is any instance of the following:
1. Taking items from the Guild Bank and selling them on the AH for personal profit.
2. Taking items from the Guild Bank and trading them to other players for favors.
3. Taking items from the Guild Bank that are not level / class appropriate for your character.
We believe that we are the best guild in this game.
This is something that every member either already knows, or will come to learn. We may not be “leading” in getting to new content. We may not have the most members, or the best geared members, however we have the greatest collection of great people. We ENJOY this game, and are some of the best people / most skilled players on this server. A testament to this is that after over a year of being “disbanded” We have all come home, because we found that there just isn’t another environment quite like BloodStorm Elites. We have met in real life, and will do so again soon. We are more than teammates; we are friends and family. We are here for each in other in life as much as in the game. **group hug!
