He'd taken the God's advice and headed back toward the main caves once he was able to. Since the sun was hidden he didn't have problems getting there and back into the safety of the dim light. His queen would be about somewhere all he had to do was find her.
Stopping at one of the crossroads he paused so he could get his bearings and figure out where he needed to go to find the lioness.
the soft sent of her passage led down one of the side tunnels, one of her favorites, strangely for its close fit, she could feel both walls with her whiskers when she walked, and the cavern it opened into was fairly even, smells carried and there were few obsitcals for her blindness.
It was a bit of a stretch for his bulk to make it though the tunnels but he knew this one well enough. Stretching as he made his way out into the cavern he smiled as he saw the queen. "Devi..." She had probably heard him already but he had gotten into a habit of telling her he was around anyway.
Hello old friend, she said without turning. "How are you this...day?" She turned at last towards him, her pelt rippled slightly as though to show off the story written there that she would never see. It had been such a faded and fuzzy pattern when first she came to the tribe. But had grown in clarity as she grew in wisdom, till at last clear for all to see was the story of her coming, and her mate, the King, still missing, his whereabouts unknown since the 'web tore', the caves collapsed and scattered the tribe like spiderlings on the wind.
Day worked for him. It was what he considered 'day' at least since the evening hours were generally when he was prone to being up and about. "I am well i would say." he nodded a bit just for his own sake.
"I ran into someone interesting while i was wandering about outside."

"I ran into someone interesting while i was wandering about outside."
"Did you now?" She tipped her head and sniffed at the air lightly to make some guess as to your meaning.
"Ahh... I see, he has been buisy."
"apparently he has." He moved closer to her and sat down. "Poking fun at cubs and wandering about causing trouble I'm no doubt."
"Well he is a god of tricks...as much as he pretends to be otherwise. His fondness for stories would make him seem lord of them at times." she shook her head.
"Our king is missing, I can not find sent of him...and we want for a ruler....I am Tired... I do not think I can do this on my own."
"He seemed intent on making sure the cub he was teasing knew it too. Was he always so animated?" He couldn't remember much of the God from his days as a cub, all he knew now were the stories that they had of him.
"You have not been able to find a trace of him?" He had hoped that their king would be able to come back to them. Devi hadn't seemed as bright without him by her side. "You know that those of us still beside you will support you as we can." He nudged her shoulder gently with his nose.
"When he led me here as a cub... he was much the same." Her whiskers curled. "He is a changeable thing though, I think many of his tricks, he plays on himself." she shook her head sadly.
"We need a King...Wefter and Weaver, always has it been so...always should it be...I have... waited to long to re-weave this web. We need a king... someone whom knows the tribe. What do you say old friend..."
"He is at least still young in heart." He laughed softly. Their God had been interesting to meet and he hoped that he could be conned into a more active roll in the tribe.
"I had hoped that the King would return to us." He nodded slowly. "But i would agree. You are brighter when someone is beside you."
"I still pray one day for his return.. but...if not just for me... then for our people. Thank you... so much." She nuzzeled his cheek.
"You do not need to thank me." He smiled and returned the nuzzle. "You know i will do whatever you need me to." he had always followed her advice and he would continue to as long as he was given the chance.
