OOT [Outside of Time] IC [In Character] RP [Role-play]
What: The caravan has split, with most deciding to travel around the plains, the others traveling through. A few days into the trip, one of the wagons breaks its wheel going over some gopher holes...Hijinks Ensue From there. [Well, not hijinks per se...but...you know] Why: Why Not! When: Early Spring Where: Aompor Plains This place is kind of boring, really. If it weren't for the wonderful wildflowers and the plains natives it would be developed upon. But the natives prohibit such thing and have been successful with making an agreement with the local townspeople to not allow developing to happen upon their lands.
(Also, the gopherferret holes all across this region can be hell for a caravan!) Who: People of importance - the plains natives and Queen Firos
One of the three priestesses of note, created by the Fers clan, who was called Mazela before coming into her powers. Mazela took the clan name as her own when her rule extended beyond the middle colonies of the Aompor- presumably so as to retain her heritage and preserve her clan name. Her reign of fire terror was second to none in her unique, albeit identity-robbing techniques of fire manipulation. Her armies of fire elements, though well-maintained, had to be steadily replenished, as the effects of her spells would render her minions catatonic after prolonged exposure to them. The scroll "Dead Flame" contains dozens of minstrel's songs which are devoted to this topic. Mazela's powers are said to have established themselves at birth- but it is assumed she used metallics to strengthen them, as well. She controlled many of the lowland-Gelm gold mines, and would have hammered gold medallions and armor sculpted for many of her armies. She wore gold herself- most notably of which were a pair of firestone earrings, a bloodring, gold and ruby anklets, and a gold and Firos medallion about her neck. It is unknown whether these were decorative or useful- however, in points of extremely high magical concentration, Mazela would lose control of her armies.

"The plains are fine, and I've not heard anything bad about the natives...I'd rather we went through" said Leshya'e to Valelldia, "It shouldn't take too long to cross it...It may even be faster."
With some apprehension, Valelldia agreed to let Leshya'e and the others go there way as she continued on with the remainder of the caravan. Waving and kissing good-bye, the balance of power was broken and they headed on their ways.

Zak clucked his teeth at the horses and hoped they were smart enough to step where the others before them had gone and not break a leg in a gopher hole. this was Kepp's wagon but who knows weather she cares what happens to it, the woman was in a stupor as far as Zak could see. her child was withdrawn and odd in a way that he wasn't letting himself even contemplate. but they slept or what ever it was they did inside the wagon and he slept underneath and kept it going so what more could anyone want?
the horses were focused on the wagon infront of him and were used to the monotony by now hardly needing to be led. they are in bad condition though and that tack is disgustingly dirty, Zak thought as his mind wandered across the lumpy plain. next chance we stop I'm taking a brush to everything.

Ro had been given the chance to try her hand at driving the wagon. Cornelius is a friendly sort, and easy to handle. Rojiza leans back a little, relaxing. The strange-looking bird that'd come from the fancy umbrella her mother had been given at the Port sits beside her. He (at least, she thinks it's a he) honks loudly every time he sees something that moves. Including the grass when a wind comes through. Ro rolls her eyes, about ready to push this long-necked annoyance off the seat.
Baptiste, too, had decided to go through the Plains rather than around. Tucking a straw-colored lock of hair behind an ear, he climbs up into the driver's seat. He looks at Tamlin. "Will you be sitting up here with me, or inside the wagon like a proper lady?" he teases.

"A proper lady you say? i hope I haven't given you a misguided impression of me, I've never aspired to be anything like a proper lady."
Tamlin said as stepped onto the lowest foothold she could find. She stared at Baptist's face for a moment as a somewhat impish idea crossed her mind. her eyes glittered and on that impulse she placed her hands on the seat where he had asked her to sit and jumped, turning a quick pirouette on her hands with her feet in the air. She laughed as she landed squarely behind the started Baptist in his driver seat.
"If i was a proper lady how could i have such fun? A proper lady would, out of necessity blush and fall to pieces if so much of her bloomers were to show" she tapped him on the forehead as she hopped into the seat he offered her. "but in answer, I'll join you up here for a bit; just watch out for the rough roads. My luck with wagons on difficult crossings seems to be lacking."

Voltaire had volunteered to go along as well though he remained silent for the time being and seemingly almost impassive. Next to him sat Annjette her slender hand softly petting the ermine resting on her lap as her deep purple eyes gazed about with curiosity. It was nice to be out and smell the fresh air of the plains and it was interesting to see it all in general. The thing the child could do without was the occasional jostling that came when the wagon hit an odd hole or two in the ground.
Annjette gave a small pout across her black lips, “This is a pain,” she said in her soft tone.
The half-elf just chuckled and gave a shrug, “You’re the one that agreed that we should go along, ‘Jette.” He reminded her, for she was the reason he had volunteered at all.

alright that was it, it was afternoon and there was corpse of shivering aspen trees up ahead, that meant either people or water or both on plains like this. "OI" Zak yelled at the front of the wagon train "Can we stop there before the beasts fall over from exhaustion after breaking their legs in these damn gopher holes?" he checked himself a little as he was hollering at one of the people who could kick him out with out a thought "not that it's all that important to find a camp ground before dark, trees are nice though" he amended.
Zak's ribs were displeased with this show of enthusiasm and voiced their opinion in a wince worthy editorial up his chest that made him gasp a little, not that it helped.
he made a list of things that needed doing before sundown in his head 1. wash/brush/feed beasts 2. wash/ brush tack 3. make dinner 3.1 get fire going 3.2 dried meat + potatoes + water + onions = stew 4. clean bandages and sleep

For the sake of knowing where you are, here's the line up.
Varekai - Maeko Mossy Charm - Mene & Hinoi Rusting Canvas - Kate Balormengro -Maeko Mountain Air - Mene Weathered Melody - Silver Clair d' Lune - Pales
Hearing a voice from behind her, Leshya'e nodded thoughtfully, "Yes, best we stop...it will be getting dark soon, better if we settle before too long." She looked over at Anezka who, without a word of direction, jumped down from her seat and made her way back through the line of wagons. "We're stopping up there," She called to the drivers as she pointed,"We'll be making camp up around the bend."

Silver made encouraging sounds to Kesali and Vakejo as the horses trudged through the tall grass, following Mountain Air almost mechanically.
Late in the afternoon she heard a voice she didn't quite recognize yell for the caravan to stop, and then a more familiar one, Anezka, shout that they'd soon be making camp. Mherudyn squawked excitedly and Silver sighed in relief. She didn't mind traveling - it was part of being a gypsy - but Aisrhan and Khevashi had been restless for hours and she worried that Aisrhan would be in a foul mood once they made camp. The girl had refused to drive the horses, choosing instead to look after her brother. As hostile as Aisrhan could be towards adults and other Fortunettes, there were a few who held her favor, and her brother was certainly one of them. Silver smiled. Maybe Ais wouldn't be in such a bad mood after all.

Ro slows the wagon down when she hears they'd be making camp soon. And a good thing, too; Cornelius is about worn-out. She glances at the flamboyant bird beside her. He'd been quiet for a while now. She has to smile a little when she sees his long beak tucked under his wing--the bumpy road had lulled him to sleep.
Baptiste had laughed at Tamlin's assertion and helped her into the seat next to him. The shout by the wagon leading startles him and his horses, and the wagon jostles rather sharply. Instinctively he reaches one arm out to Tamlin, wrapping around her waist so she won't fall off. He coos to the horses, clucking comfortingly.

Veshengo winced at each dip and bump, the road was absolutely horrid. He hoped with all his might that Skellick wouldn't injure himself . A sigh of relief passed his lips when he heard the Rabbit Girl call out that camp would be made up around the bend. Maybe at camp he could properly meet some of the others.

at the call from the young lady zak sighed with releif and lead his team away from the others and onto what he thought looked like prime sleeping real estate. the wagons didn't seem to be prepared to circle so this seemed alright. he hopped down from his perch and unyoked the horses putting their noses into halters and leading them to the side of the wagon. they fought him over a chance to nibble on grass but were settled with a long-ish tether of rope and a pocket weary half carrot each. zack dug throught the caravan carefull not to disturb his landlady and retreved the tack cleaning equipment (covered in spiders), currycombs, and two buckets for water.
he headed for the stream as pulling wagons is thirsty work for man and beast.

[LOOK! A post directed at Kate!]
Rojiza scoops up her bird-brother and carries him inside to the bed with their mother. She smiles when Caroline praises her driving ability, and then goes back outside to look at the stars. She feels....better about the open space than she thought she would. The lack of trees makes her a little nervous, but facing one's fears is a good thing, right? Ro unhitches Cornelius from the wagon and nuzzles his big nose, making a clucking noise as she pats his neck. Silly mule, she thinks. She takes note of a young man near Ki's wagon, and wonders what he's doing. She doesn't remember having seen him before. Curious, she approaches him. He seems to be tending the horses. She follows him silently to the river, watching him fill the buckets with water. Water! She dashes back to her own wagon, grabs a bucket, and darts back to the river to fill her own bucket for the beloved mule.
