 Martin trotted on the path running alongside the meadow. He casually sniffed the air. Something was amiss. He didn't hear any birds, nor the normal snuffling of forest pigs or squirrels. The meadow was empty of bees and dragonflies. Immediately on guard, he dropped the small bundle of herbs he was carrying and flicked his ears back and forth...listening closely for anything that could tell him why the land had dropped into silence.

 Oh gods the silence, it was glorious after a good feast she was reveling in it. She moved like a living shadow through the dense forest only the bright colors that accented her ebony coat made her stand out, and her eyes .. those devilish glowing orbs. One could almsot see hell in those bi-olored orbs. The kalona mare tossed her mane as she shifted through her hunting grounds lips curled back over her fnags in a maniacle smile, the same one that always seemed to be plastered onto her.

Martin hissed silently, as he recognized the stench that the breeze carried past his nose. Kalona! He backed slowly into the cover of the trees, and looked up to the skies. Last time he had faced a Kalona, it had started off with an aerial attack. Martin didn't want to go through that kind of start again.
He swung around, making sure he wasn't going to be ambushed from behind either, and scanned the forest. It was bright out, and the forest was bathed in sunlight. If he was attacked, he would at least be able to see.

Shade emerged from the shadows like a glorious angle ... yea angle of death maybe. She as beautiful and she knew it, flaunted it even, but as those eyes fell on martin the insane grin stretched wider across her muzzle. "My oh my what have I stumbled across here ... another play thing no doubt."
She thought back to her most recent plaything, Amoena .. what a fun game that had been!
She stalked towards him her muscles rippling beneath her coat. She was small for a kalona, but looks could be deceiving especially when dealing with the kalonas.

Martin swung around, a soft hiss escaping his lips. He bared his teeth and pinned back his ears. He looked with hatred at the Kalona, and spat out, "If I'm a plaything, then you're a jack in the box. Ugly, disgusting, hardly surprising, and despised. Did I mention ugly?" He sneered, "You may not be any of the other things, but you've certainty got the look going for you." He spat at the ground of the Kalona's feet and his muscles tensed, ready for a verbal rebuttal or an outright attack. A new feeling roared up inside of him, one he had never felt before.

She giggled insanely and kept moving towards him eyes a blaze "and those were supposed to hurt lesser?" She laughed a mocking cruel laughter "insults coming from pathetic warrior wannabes! Hah, a fly is more dangerous to myself than YU!"
Suddenly, le the strick of a cobra Shade was bearing down on him, fangs bared in a sadistic smile as she lowered her ehad pointing the dnagerous twin horn at him. Unlike most kalona he didn't have to completely dip her head to use her horns .. she had two ses, each as capable as the other f dealing heavy blows.
"What a fun game we shall play little lesser!" She cackled again still charging at him.

Martin felt this new feeling take control of his body and he spat, "Bring it on you flying rat" He kept light on his toes as she charged at him. If he tried to brace himself and withstand the blow, her dual horns would rip him in half. He gauged the distance, and jumped to the side just as she was about to hit him. He kicked hard at her as she went past him. This new feeling, he wanted to kill...he wanted to see this Kalona writhing on the ground, screaming in pain. For a second he suppressed it, surprised and scared as to what it was asking him to do, but in a few seconds it was in control again.

Shade let out a loud sqeualing cackle as his hooves connected to her sides iwth a crack. "C'mon lesser! You'll have to do better!" Her tailed whipped up the sharp spade lashing at his throat and neck.
When she'd pasued him by she skidded digging her hooves in and flareing her wings.
Leaping into the air she landed and turned around quickly prowling back towards him still grinning. Her eyes were crazy and a blaze with the insanity that pumped in her blood like a poison.

Martin gritted his teeth, willing himself not to cry out as the sharp point of the kalona's tail grazed the side of his neck, creating a long shallow cut.
Martin struggled to contain the new feeling, he didn't like it one bit. He forced it down again, but it came back, stronger than ever, and claimed control of his body, he couldn't fight it anymore.
His eyes gained a look of hate in them, and his mouth turned into a wicked grin. He chuckled nastily, and mimicked the Kalona in a high squeaky voice, "C'mon lesser! You'll have to do better!" He bared his teeth, and said again in a mocking squeaky voice, "Oh mommy, help me help me! The big bad Kalona is trying to have a civil conversation!" He grinned, and added nastily, "That is, if she even knows how speak, or does she just grunt and point at things?"

Shade cakled at him, unphased by his words she coninued to stalk aorund him fnags flashing dnagerous and deadly in the light. This stallion was truely stupid if he thought he could take her down.
"c'mon lessser boy, let's see what you have," she had stoppe dbeside hi mwhen she suddenly reared contorting her body so that her horn were pointed down towards his sides, if she coult hit the right spot her horns could slide between twi ribs into his heart or lungs and add another layer of blood to her silver horns.
Her long tail lashe dbehind her and she was more than ready to use her hooves, fnags, and the small spike on the tip of her muzzle to should she need to.

A wild grin took over Martin's face, and as the Kalona reared up, he lunged for her soft underbelly and bit down hard. If he could just unbalance her enough, she'd fall to the ground. Then he would have the upper hand for a few seconds, which might just be enough.
The taste of the Kalona's leathery skin was disguesting, and Martin forced himself not to let go as he bit down harder, and shoved his head into the Kalona, to push her off balance. He felt her tail cut him again as it lashed from side to side, but this new feeling was too much in control for him to cry out in pain.

As she fell over Shade cackled insanely and kicked out with her sharp hooves towards his neck. Once she hit the ground with a thud she rolled quickly back to her feet and shook herself, she could feel the light trickle of blood fro his bite roll across her stomach but she didn't seem to care to much.
With another cackle and flick of her tail she charged forward once more, lowering her head so that her twin unicorn like horns were at his chest, and the two demon horns were ready to rip into his throat.

[No problem, and its not going to be a long fight anyway, I guesstimate about 3 or four more posts and Martin'll be too tired/hurt to continue]
Martin was unbalanced as the Kalona fell to the ground, and he stumbled. His hoof caught in a hole in the ground, and he felt it twist sharply. He fell to the ground, quivering. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the Kalona charging at him. He just couldn't get out of the way.
He didn't want to die here, at the hands, err, hooves of this idiot Kalona, but what could he do? An idea came to him. She was almost on top of him, so Martin stuck out a hoof. It connected with the Kalona's twin horns. Martin felt a piercing pain as the twin horns cut into his hoof, past the nail part and into the sensitive membrane. He jerked his skewered hoof off of the twin horns, and with a great effort, stood up, shaking.

Shade cackled as she stepped back weaving her body like a snake, she was even hissing in delight. The blood spilled on her horn smelled amazing and mixed with the pain and slight fear of death in his eyes was almost enough to make her drunk on her hooves. A soft cackled escaped her as she moved forward fangs bared in a haunting smile. Normally, when she wasn't hungry she'd let them live with their scars and the haunting memories that she'd be back one day to finish them off.
She sneered a little and began to move forward towards the fallen stallion her fangs bared now in a heinous smile making her pearly daggers of teeth gleam. "I hope you've accepted your fate stallion," she licked her lips and continued her advance towards him.

[XD Could Nightshade please make a deep hole in Martin's neck? And I so cannot believe I am askign this XD]
Martin's sudden rush of the urge to kill left him, just like that. He was left standing, feeling very weak and small. As Nightshade walked towards him, Martin matched every step of hers, but backward. He hobbled, his one hoof ruined for the time being. Now he was scared silly, and tried to keep his calm. A few deep breaths, and he stopped feeling lightheaded. Now he just had to concentrate on not getting killed, and there was a likely chance that he would be.
