Cuz according to my mom, that's the only way to do it. It's the reason I can't get Loli style (like hime) bangs, and it's starting to drive me INSANE! >_O

For those that don't know what it is, dictionary.com: n. A projecting tuft of hair on the head that grows in a different direction from the rest of the hair and will not lie flat.

Is there a way to get rid of it without shaving my head, or will I have to do that and wear a wig for a while? gonk

Mine's where my bangs would be and it's not only uncomfortable, it looks bad and prevents Loli bangs. sweatdrop

I have two cowlicks in front, actually. One on either side of my forehead. From what I understand, shaving your head is more likely to make those cowlicks worse or to create new ones than it is likely to improve things. If it really bothers you, you can just wear a wig over your own natural hair if you'd like?

In any case, I still manage to wear bangs. You just have to be persistent about styling it. It helps if I blowdry my bangs after I shower with a round brush. If I'm going out, I'll usually do this the day before and then rebrush my hair in the morning the same way without the blow drying. The oils in your hair apparently help keep the shape you want.

Also, the days that I can't fight them into behaving, I either clip them back with bobby pins [this looks fine with alice bows, by the way] or wear them swept slightly to the side instead of straight on [this works well with side bows].

Also, don't worry about getting strictly "loli style" hair. Hime cuts tend to look really awful on almost anyone who gets them, in my opinion. There are only certain face-shapes that look right with them, and they're a pain in the neck to take care of. So long as you have a style that suits the hair accessories you're wanting to wear [ie: alice bows don't need blunt cut bangs, headdresses tend to look better with them, but side-swept bangs can be used instead], you're fine. (:

That's really encouraging to hear that there's a way around it. Now I have to get ahold of a round brush XD. And wow, two cowlicks, I feel sooo sorry for you gonk . Thanks for the tips. :3

The cowlicks are easy compared to getting stylists to cut a straight fringe. XD;

They aren't in style and I don't trust myself to do it, so they always end up doing something weird to my hair when I have it trimmed.

To be honest, I may end up buying wigs to wear during the winter for when my hair is acting up. Priscilla wigs are great and not too expensive, so I may end up splurging later in the year and buying a few of their hair pieces to cover up the crazy cowlick or try new colors out. haha

Good luck with your styling adventures!

oh, i know how you feel! i have one main cowlick, then a kind of half-ish one. the half-ish one is the worst! it sticks up a lot ;>__<
yes! getting stylists to cut my hair the way i want is such a hassle! i have a GHD straightener, so if anything is out of place it is easily fixed, but they wont listen! i have ended up cutting my fringe the length I want it, and then go to the stylist so they can just trim it up and make it look nicer. hahaha. ^__-
dont let those nasty cowlicks hold you back.
although my mother said that you can 'tape them down' or something, to get rid of them. not sure how that works though.

there is NOTHING you can do...besides blow drying your hair straight.
Believe me Taping or teasing doesn't do ANYTHING!! i have a cowlick where my bangs are. No matter how much a comb my bangs to the left they will ALWAYS pop back into their original spot.
