He blindfolded her, as instructed. Brought her to the keep, as instructed, he even brought her to just outside the corridor that lead to Adiana's chamber. As he took the blindfold off, he glanced down the hall to see that damn Dragon waiting at the large double doors at the very end.
Roland couldn't understand why Adiana made such painstaking measures to give the girl the impression that she was in a place of safety. Unless the witch was gonna cast a spell on her, like the spell thats on her 'dragon familiar'. The idea made the back of his hair stand on end, and he wanted to just hiss. The b***h wanted to control anything with a strong will, even Roland himself was in her grasp, though not from any spell.
After removing the blindfold, the demon walked in front, and faced Alicia. "You've come far, lass. But there's just a pinch of detail I neglected to mention..." It was that tiny little fact that Adiana is a sorceress hellbent on becoming a goddess, and that she was gonna Alicia to discover the means of how to do just that, and that they were expendable tools!

Alicia looked around the musky corridor, that was poorly lit. No matter, her feline's eyes could see every nook and cranny. She glanced over her shoulder to the pale haired man, and a chill slowly crept up her spine. A feeling washed over her, as if she were about to make a big mistake. She was now uneasy, for this place stank of power and magic. Being a beast, she had learned to fear most magic. Those who could weild magic could not be trusted. They became drunk with the power of it and in the end they kill thousands with it. She had never liked those who could use magic. The stories that Roland had told her, she thought Adiana was just a strong being. She could smell evil, she could smell hate and anger.... she was trapped. She looked at Roland as he spoke, and waited for the worst. "What? Tell me."

Roland crossed his arms and raised his chin up, then leaned toward her. "The path ye chose ain't one o' good, y'know." he whispered, then straightened as he slinked around her, guiding her to turn around by placing his hand softly on her shoulder as he walked. If she allowed it, and she turned to face the man and the door, the demon would place his hands on her shoulders and whisper softly. "Adiana is a woman of great power, indeed. But purity is the lie of beauty, lass. You've entered a viper's lair."
The man at the end of the hall cleared his throat, Roland looked over her shoulder at David and glared. God he hated this place. But what was he to do? He was under contract.
The demon cat let go and backed away. "Even if you decide not to go in, there be no way to escape the undergrounds by yerself. Ye be wanderin' forever down here, lass." With that, Roland had backed into the shadows and around the corner. But he stayed there, watching, tail twitching. He knew she could sense the evil around her. And she was truly trapped down here. But would she reject the decision she herself had made?
And if she accepted, would she trust him anymore?
The demon smirked. Of course she wouldn't. But that wouldn't matter, this place of servitude to the witch wasn't grounded on /trust/. Adiana had no need for it. You either did as she asked, or be exterminated.
And that, was that.
___
David waited at the end of the hall, arms crossed as he watched the Sphinx and the demon. When the mangy cat finally slinked away, the dragon stepped away from the wall and presented his arm very gentlemanly toward the door. "My mistress awaits, and she is not the patient one tonight." He urged her, almost feeling the sorceresses nails drum impatiently on the armrest of her chair from behind the door.

She swallowed thickly, her eyes searching the face and frame of the man with the pale hair. Her brain was processing what Roland said, about how her choice was not a good one. How could it not be? She thought, her hands trembling slightly. Roland had spoke so highly of it before she was brought here. There was no way out, she felt like a caged tiger. She looked back at Roland, her eyes holding a mixture of anger, fear, and loathing. He had tricked her, she had left her friends and family to "protect" them, and instead had jumped right into a blaze of deception, and hate. A dangerous fire, one that had a full gas can in the middle, the flames licking at the side, threatening to ignite the combustible within. She looked helplessly now at David, as if she was pleading him for help.

The pleading eyes looking at him didn't sway the dragon to do any different than what he was told, he stood there with his hand placed on the black oak door, ready to open it. Simply waiting for the Sphinx to come over so that she could meet her.
The hair on the back of his neck prickled as he literally felt Adiana's impatience building, her anger itself was powerful enough to make the air tingle. What a fool this Sphinx was to hesitate, and what a fool the demon cat was to instill her with a reason to.
What is taking her so long to enter? Asked a voice that was like a chemical burn on cashmere.
"She grows impatient as the minutes pass, m'lady." David calls out to her, his gaze shifting past her to peer at Roland, who was peeking out from the corner, staring at the Sphinx. Their eyes met briefly, and with a glare, the demon disappeared into the shadows. The glowing topaz eyes returned to the Sphinx, and he patiently waited for her.

Alicia swallowed thickly again, and pulled her sweatshirt around her tighter as if to warm a chill. She had never felt so helpless, and tears leaked from her eyes to slowly drip down to her chin. She thought of William for a moment, and then glanced behind her to see Roland had run off. A sudden burst of anger livened her gut. That coward.... she thought to herself heatedly. She then turned angry eyes to David, and narrowed them to slits. She would see herself out of this. She took a then shaky but confident step forwards to the corridor that led to Adiana. She entered the dimly lit room, and then peered upon Adiana's back.

The woman in the room was hooded and cloaked in shadow, even as she stood near the fireplace, the darkness seemed to cling to her. The woman turned to face Alicia, hand resting on the mantle. A smile played over her lips, a smile like a nice breeze turned bitingly cold. When she spoke, her voice was a beautiful sound, but it made you feel like there were thousands of tiny spiders, biting down at the same time.
"Welcome, my child." She lifted up her other hand and beckoned her over to the fireplace. "Let me get a good look at you, mighty Sphinx." Her gloved fingers curled inward and her fist closed loosely as she beckoned Alica.
