Szadaen had found the perfect patch of ground. Warm grass, a nice breeze, bright sunlight. She'd just meant to come outside for a second when she left Sam's company. No telling what the rest of them would get up to if she wasn't there to watch, after all.

But it was perfect, really, and she couldn't resist lying down. Stretching out. Dozing. Not sleeping. Not asleep at all. Her tail was twitching, see? She couldn't be truly asleep.

User ImageStepping outside of the building, Caden padded carefully through the tall, lush grasses, his long fetlocks dragging along the ground as he did so. Tail swishing back and forth, his attention turned to movement just a few feet away from him.

Pushing through the grass, his gleaming eyes caught sight of a female elder, sprawled out in the sun. He watched her silently for a minute, before a large, charismatic grin spread across his face and he stepped from his vantage point.

"Hello~" he crooned gently, padding along around her side so she could see him, "I do hope I'm not interrupting you..."

She could see him. She didn't lift her head right away, but an ear did twitch. She did take a deep breath in and exhale slowly. Then she lifted her head and turned her attention on Caden. Wasn't he an interesting looking little thing? Silky, almost. Definitely interesting.

"You are," she answered easily. Her tail thumped the ground once, but then the first hints of a smile appeared. "Fortunately, I don't mind. Hello. Who are you?"

Ahh, movement. Glad for the absence of a violent lash out at him, Caden's muscles loosened in a carefree and charismatic manner, a smirk plastered across his face as the elder turned to look at him.

"Well, I'm dreadfully sorry, then," he replied airily, tipping his head to her politely, "The name is Caden; just who do I have the pleasure of meeting here?"

He certainly wasn't trying to flatter her; after all, he was only acting in his nature. If she had truly not wanted him around, he would have turned tail and left; however, the fact that this... attractive elder hadn't shunned away his conversation was a sign for him to just let himself act as he would anywhere else. After all, interactions were much better when one was relaxed, weren't they?

If she really minded the company, she would certainly have chased him off. She wasn't and she'd spoken her mind. Interrupted a good laze around in the grass? Yes. Offended or upset her? Not in the least.

"I'm not sorry," she countered just as lightly. "And my name is Szadaen. Especially with you in a good mood. Comfort around me makes me comfortable." She stretched her front legs out a bit more as if to demonstrate. "Just out for a walk, or were you searching for conversation?"

"A little bit of both, actually," he replied, smiling lightly. His tail wriggled back and forth, brushing away a few grasshoppers before they could actually land on his rump. "If you're not against it, I would be happy if you would accompany on on an afternoon stroll." A charming expression crossed his face, a genuine smile. "They seem to be much better when you have company, after all."

That statement was indeed true; seeing as none of his bonded's own winiko had wanted to come along, he was originally going to goon his own. However, if this femme here would accompany him, he was sure the walk would be much better.

She considered. She flicked an ear.

Then she climbed to her feet, streeeetched again, and lifted her her tail above the level of the grass. "Walking would be pleasant," she allowed. "Do we have a destination in mind, or are we just walking to see where we go?"

Caden smiled broadly, dipping his head to her. "There are any number of places we could go," he replied, motioning off in one direction, "I suggest that we... wander a bit, and see as many of those places as we do so." Shaking his head, his mane ruffled a bit as he stepped carefully through the grass. The femme was larger than him, sure; but if she was usually intimidating to other demons, the effect had been lost on him.

"So you're a wanderer, then. Out to see the world?" She was assuming, yes, but if he wanted to see as many places as they could, it stood to reason. "Have you seen anything worth sharing stories about? Snow in the middle of summer, maybe? Or rain on a sunny day?"

Caden tilted his head in a bit, smiling broadly with closed eyes. "Yes, I would say I am a bit of a wanderer," he replied, "Though there are some places so nice that I don't mind sticking around for a while." He listened to her inquiry, then laughed softly in return; a warm sound from deep in his throat.

"Yeah, I've seen things like that," he replied, olive-hued eyes gazing off a ways, "They take your breath away, they do- I've seen fields filled with the most beautiful flowers you've ever seen; waterfalls a hundred feet high... even such little things as a star-splattered sky are beautiful if looked at in the right way." He smiled broadly, content for a moment in his short expanse of memory.

Szadaen listened to Caden talk and found that, more than not minding his company, she actually liked it. It was nice to have someone to talk to other than those she knew well. Well. Better than a stranger, at any rate. Tail brushing the tops of the grass, she padded along, one ear always kept swiveled toward him.

That last comment, though. That made her blink in something like surprise. "If looked at in the right way," she echoed. "Which is the right way?" She glanced at the sky as if it might give her a clue. Then she tilted her head. Tilted it the other way. "I think I look at things the same way, most of the time."

"Well," he replied, stepping carefully about a particularly high patch of grass, "You can't just glance at it and say that it's beautiful." He paused, his own eyes lifting to the puffy while clouds passing overhead. "The longer you look at a night sky, the more stars become visible to you."

His tail swayed back and forth for a moment as he maneuvered it away from several large burrs.

"Like... you can see a butterfly or a sunset and say; 'yes, that's beautiful'. A quick look at the sky, however, only shows a black canvas. To the prying eye, thousands of tiny lights appear, stretching for miles and miles. Perhaps... perhaps if the sky is clear tonight, you should take a look?"

Szadaen was now watching Caden more than the sky. Or the ground or where she was going. She didn't trip, though one paw did wobble a little on a piece of loosened earth. But she was studying Caden, because he was far more interesting than a little stumble.

"I think maybe I should," she allowed, and tilted an ear. "How did you first start studying the sky?"

Talons clacking softly against the small stones that were now underfoot, Caden's brow quirked softly at her question, before being replaced by a gentle smile.

"How? Well, it's... simple, really. One day I stopped, and looked up. I wondered; 'Why us? What else is out there?'. So I stared. For minutes, maybe even hours, I don't remember. I looked and pried until my eyes were so tired I couldn't keep them open. But still, no answer; I still look, on clear nights, hoping that something will come to me, but no luck so far." A smile played on his face as his eyes looked towards the sky again, roving them for only a moment. "Call me strange, but I think I'm onto something."
