I play mallets with a passion! I'm the best mallet player in our band if not the best in Las Vegas(in the highschool circuit of course)! My fav is marimba and my second would vibes. I can play xylo, timpani, the glockenshpiel, and chimes also.

I play mallets all the time! I personally think that I'm the best mallet player in my Percussion class, and I am the only girl. So I feel like I rock! Aha, but I suck at others so. x]
Anyways, I love the Marimba! That's like the best instrument!! Timpani is fun too. Aha.

I'm going into highschool next year and I'm going to play the xylophones, I think. I usually play oboe, but it isn't marching material; so is learning the xylophone hard?

I do!! I'll play any keyboard. The way our tech likes to do things is to have people move around a lot...which can kind of suck stare especially when you go from one end to another in like 2 measures. stressed But i lubb playing in the Pit section. I can't march at all really so it's perfect for me. When i first was involved in any band like activities i was just a visual person for my indoor percussion's show. i was really intrigued so i would always watch the Pit whenever they were warming up and i had nothing to do. Then whenever i'd get to practice early i'd teach myself all the scales and warmups. So i'm pretty self-taught. But i lubb it!!

Merriara I'm going into highschool next year and I'm going to play the xylophones, I think. I usually play oboe, but it isn't marching material; so is learning the xylophone hard? it's not hard really. it seems easier for me to play it, but it's also a pain because the width of the keys is smaller then the other keyboards.

does anybody agree with me that it is a PAIN to move a chime set? onetime it fell and almost cut someones toe off. when the set fell, the rope holding the chimes together broke and one fell onto someones toe...the cut was circular

Sweet! HIGH FIVE!
I'm a multitasker. Mallets, drumset, and everything else in between.
Have you started 4 mallets yet? I got my 2nd solo, and I got into wind ensemble with it!! WEWT!

I play mallets too. Mostly marimba, but I can play the rest also! Playing with 2 mallets is okay, but 4 mallet pieces are twice as fun and twice as hard.
