Post one:
Guild Rules

1. Above all, abide by Gaia ToS and Rules
Know what is acceptable and what is not. Abide by the PG-13 rule. Do not make topics or posts containing questionable content. Language in moderation is fine, but nudity and excessive violence is not. Refrain from making sexual topics or talking about illegalities such as music downloading or drugs. Any questionable posts will be deleted and possibly reported depending on their severity.

2. Respect other guild members and Gaians.
Flaming is not allowed here. What is flaming? Flaming is directing rude or abusive comments at other users to create conflict. Trolling is also disallowed. Trolling is posting snide comments or purposely creating a scene just to enrage other users. If you have conflicts, we want you to solve them peacefully (and preferably on your own outside the guild) rather than resorting to petty fighting or flaming. If you really think you can't solve a conflict by yourself, PM myself or a mod and we will take action, or ban if necessary. Also, we don't want any racist or prejudice comments. I don't think I've ever seen a problem with this, but homophobia is not welcome here either.

3. Refrain from n00b bashing.
N00b bashing is annoying, repetitive, and unnecessary. Sure, there's a large population of users who are annoying and can't spell. WE KNOW. Ranting about who asked you to cyber or who PMed you begging for a free Ninja Headband and how stupid they are isn't going to accomplish anything. Flaming n00bs just makes them worse and annoys everyone else.

4. Respect and listen to moderators.
Crew is here to help moderate and organize the guild. My decisions are supreme within the guild (though I usually go over major decisions with crew), though crew also has a lot of authority. Please respect our mods. If a mod asks you to do something, please do it. If a mod edits your post, please be respectful and know that it was only because it violated the rules in some way. (Though if your post was edited and was not in violation of the rules, we then have a problem.) If a mod tells you you are in violation of the rules, please just listen to and respect them. Mods have their own opinions, but I ask that mods carry out their duties on a basis of these rules, disregarding those opinions. Guidelines for mods are covered later, but I'll restate my point: respect mods. PLEASE do not ask to be a mod. When I appoint moderators, it is my choice. It's hectic enough as it is for me to choose new moderators in addition to dealing with "YOU MADE THEM A MOD AND NOT ME?!?!?! WHY NOT ME?!?! I AM SO OFFENDED! I AM GOING ON STRIKE TILL YOU MAKE ME A MOD!!!!1!!!" Please try to be mature about things.

5. No advertising.
In the past, this rule hasn't been to greatly clarified. What I'm saying here is that I don't want people making threads with nothing but a link in the first post and then leaving. In other words, posting a link in hopes for personal profit or gain and saying nothing else. I don't want people advertising their contests or lotteries here. It's okay to link to other places on Gaia, though I would prefer if you didn't make a thread only for that purpose. It is permitted to advertise your avatar arena entry in the AT subforum only. Links to other sites are allowed anywhere, as long as they are appropriate. By all means, share a funny video or image with us. It promotes discussion. I am, however, not responsible for off-site content. Please keep links clean.

6. No ridiculously large images/tags in posts.
What do I mean by this? I know many people like to use elaborate font and graphic schemes in their posts including large pictures and lyrics. PLEASE, people. This is what signatures are for.

7. No begging.
I hadn't clarified on this rule before since I had never found need to. Begging, in this guild, is considered the direct request of free art, services, gold, or items in the form of a topic or post. Perhaps the only exception to this rule is if you are looking for artists to commission or give freebies, in which case you may ask around politely. This rule, however, can be interpreted in different ways. If someone is offering to give something away for free, the benefactor is entirely of their choosing. In this case, you are allowed to a polite request in that thread only. Any posts otherwise deemed obnoxious, disruptive, or imposing in the pursuit of free goods will be moved.

Post Two:
Threads That Are and Are Not Okay

Threads That Are Okay
- Avatar related contests and threads. As long as you abide by Gaia's contest rules.
- Art related contests and threads. Selling, trading, auctioning, etc., of artwork is allowed.
- Literate roleplay groups. Roleplays may not be popular here, though they are allowed.
- Quest threads. As long as there is no begging, quest threads are allowed in the main forum.
- Exchange/item selling threads. Bartering for items is allowed.

Threads That Are NOT Okay
- Raffles/ticket contests. Only I am allowed to host these for guild benefits.
- Bumping. Bumping is absolutely discouraged.
- Advertising. Posting or spamming links to out-of-guild pages/sites for personal gain.
- Surveys/questions for gold. These threads are disallowed, as well as often in violation of Gaia ToS.
- Slave/bar/pool party roleplay threads. These threads speak for themselves.
- Hateful or flame threads. Please refrain from cruelty towards other Gaia users.
- Cleavage quests. I find these distasteful, not to mention borderline PG-13.
- Anything in violation of Gaia's PG-13 rule. Posts containing nudity, graphic images, offensive material, etc.
