Jaha was lonely, as usual. But Jaha desperately wanted it to not be the usual. As a rouge, others didn't really like him. It seemed like there were too many prides that looked down at rouges and packs of hyenas and the like that didn't like him simply because he wasn't one of them. And on the rare occasion when he did meet another rouge, they always seemed to dislike him. Why did everyone have to be so mean. He pondered all of this as he wandered around aimlessly. As usual.
Obviously, the other rouges usually had a reason to dislike him. The most common reason is the fact that he is almost always acting like a cub. What truly seems to bug him the most is the fact that he takes anything harsh they say as a joke or some form of game. Being so child-like, he always tried to reassure himself that things were going to get better. "Well, maybe today I'll meet somebody who likes me!", he said with a smile to himself. The only problem with talking to himself is he could always tell if he were just saying something and didn't mean it. But everyday, he would believe it and when it didn't happen, he would tell himself that tomorrow would be the day. He was the perfect proof of the saying "Ignorance is Bliss".

Stretched out beneith a short, straggly tree, the sides of a blue body slowly rose and fell with deep breathing, the kind of breathing that only comes when the body sleeps restfully.
Bluu's sides bulged just the slightest bit, proof of the recent meal she'd gobbled down till she could hold no more. With so much in her stomach, a nap was the natural thing to let her digest it all, so that's what she did. After all... its not like there was anywhere she needed to be, or anyone she needed to be with.
Like any rogue, the hyena had only herself for companionship, only herself to take care of and count on. Times like this, it was a liberating feeling, being without attachments... not that she was really thinking that, being asleep as she was. But atleast, being asleep... she didn't feel that nagging sort of twinge that had been plaguing her lately. That little prodding in her soul for companionship, the ache in her heart for someone who wouldn't be gone in a few hours, or days, with only a slim chance to see them again.
Bluu wouldn't admit it willingly, but she was getting lonely and tired of the life of a vagabond.

Jaha looked around cheerfully as he thought about what new encounters would be in store for him today, he was obviously being very optimistic, especially since he usually didn't meet anyone for several weeks at a time. But it was his nature to be so naive that he would think everyday would be special. To him, everyday was. If nothing more exciting happened, he would think finding a bug in his mane was special. Well, even by his standards, nothing exciting had happened yet.
His paws had begun to hurt from traveling for so long. Not too far away, he saw a tree. That might be a good place to rest. Shady, cool, that's pretty much all a rouge lion could ask for aside from some food and water. Since those two were unlikely to be found there, he was grateful for what he had found.
After he had made his way over to the scrawny tree, he plopped down, exhausted. After a few moments of rest, he noticed he was not alone. There was a hyena next to him. A blue and white hyena that had several strange accessories on her. Being the curious, cub-like lion he was, he drew his head close to hers and nudged her gently with his large red paw.

It was unusual for Bluu to sleep so deeply that someone could sneek up on her, but today seemed to be one of those days where everything was strange. Sides rising and falling slowly, she slept right through the lion joining her for his own lap.
Blissfully ignorant of what was going on, she blinked her eyes open at being poked, bleerily trying to focus on whatever it was that had touched her. Icey pale eyes locked on the large face that hovered over hers and the reaction was instinctual and immediate. Bluu yelped as she flailed around on the ground, rolling out from under the lion and up onto her paws, spinning around a moment facing the intruder on her peaceful nap.
"What, what? Who? Where...?" Still bleery from sleep, she was highly confused, her ears flopping around on her head as she shook vigorously to chaise the sleep from her mind. "Who are you? What... what do you want?" Ah, there we go... some actual intelligible sentences. The longer she was awake, the more focused she became, and the more relaxed. Lions weren't known for their kindness to her species, but since she hadn't been attacked yet, she was probably okay.

Jaha cringed at the sudden almost explosive reaction. He had not expected this strange hyena to flail violently at his touch. He was merely wondering what she was doing here. His green eyes widened as he watched her spazz out at the sudden awakening. Most animals would have the common sense to not disturb or even approach a sleeping hyena. But then again, Jaha was not known for his wisdom.
Slightly freaked out by the sudden outburst, he responded to the questions he could hear clearly enough. "I-I'm Jaha and I d-don't really want anything". He shrunk back as he was now slightly fearful of what a frightened hyena might do. She didn't seem too dangerous.
Some hyenas would snap at the very sight of him. He didn't quite understand why other species would growl and sneer at the moment they saw him. He seemed to get along best with cubs and pups. That was probably because they had not yet been taught that they should hate him. She however, may be an exception. After she had realized what had happened, she didn't attack him. Realizing this, his expression softened as well.

His stumbling answer to her questions finally relaxed the blue female completely. With a wide open yawn, she pushed her paws out in front of her and stretched, her back arching as her little white tail wagged in the air.
"Ah, well, now. Jaha, is it? Pleasure. T'Name's Bluu." She licked her chops as she closed her jaws from her yawn, shaking her head to clear it again. "Sorry if I startled ya. Just kinda a surprise to wake up with a big ol' lion face dead square in my own." She broke out in laughter at that last part, her cackle ear-splitting and grating, though full of mirth.
"Ya should stand back or somethin', if you're going to wake a creature like that." A happy, easy-going grin split her features as she sank down on her stomach, relaxing now from the shot of adrenaline she'd gotten when she woke up. "You have a habbit of doing it like that?" Now that the fright was over, she found it more amusing than anything else.

Jaha was surprised and happy at the same time to find that she seemed to think it was funny. Most other creatures probably would have tried to attack him or at least scare him away. He wasn't quite sure why they would get so angry just for waking them. Jaha didn't really care that her laugh was loud and 'annoying' as some would call it. He would much rather deal with a happy, obnoxious laugh than fight someone for wondering why they were there. This would be a case where curiosity really would kill the cat in most cases. Apparently he wasn't meant to die this way, or at least not yet.
"Yeah, I do that sometimes, I just can't really help it. I want to know who they are, what they are doing, and if they'll be my friend.", he said cheerfully. He took note of her advice of staying back. Well, atleast he learned something today. He was basically just a big cub that never learned to leave prides, packs and sometimes even rouges alone. He didn't care who they were, if they would be his friend, that was good enough for him.

Bluu laughed as she listened to him, wondering a little at his seeming simple mindedness. It wasn't such a bad thing... those with minds like children were often more willing to be playful, which is really all Bluu cared about in the end. She got along with anything that was willing to play.
Curiosity wasn't a bad thing in her books either, so she didn't find it all that unusual that he woke people out of his curiosity. A little dangerous maybe, but not that odd. "Well, it'd be better to let sleeping lions lie, but hey, no harm waking this old girl... I'm gonna get fat and lazy if I over sleep anyway." She cackled at her joke, pale eyes glinting. Her little white tail wagged happily in the dirt as she stretched out on her belly, limbs splayed around her like a pup herself.
The white and red lion really was a curiosity himself... Interesting both to look at and to talk to. It made her wonder what else there was interesting about him.
"My name is Bluu, in case you were wondering. What's yours?"

Jaha let out a deep sigh as he heard that she wasn't angry in the slightest that he had woken her up. If it had not been her sleeping under the tree, things could, and probably would have ended in disaster. Especially considering how hyena's typically didn't tend to care for lions. Oh well, at least now something exciting had happened today. The only animals besides lions that didn't seem to despise him with a fiery passion were the youth of said animals that usually seem to despise him. It was nice to meet someone who liked him, and not because of ignorance that they shouldn't like him.
Thumping his tail absent-mindedly, he caught sight of his own tail moving. With his cub-like personality, he instinctively started to bat at it. Regardless of how it looked, he was still listening. "Nice to meet you Bluu," he said softly as if he were trying not to startle his tail. "Mine is Jaha" As he slipped into hunting mode, his ears pinned to his head, his tail twitched eagerly. Jaha didn't realize that he was the one making it twitch. He obviously wasn't going to eat it, he was just going to bat at it, as a young cub did when it saw a moth.

The blue female chuckled as she thumped her hind end down on the ground to sit, sprawling comfortably as she grinned and watched the lion play with his tail.
"You're not gonna catch that." She warned him, her voice heavy with amusement. "But don't mind me. What brings you way out here, my friend? Are you a lover of traveling as I am?"
There were few in the world with as great a love for travel as Bluu. With so much waiting ahead of you, and the places behind you changing, there was always more see and experience. The world was a very large place, she'd come to know, and she looked forward to spending her life trying to see every inch of it... eventually. Even if she happened to be spending an unusual amount of time in this one place lately.
