I know I've gotten a lot of heat for this line, but...wow. This is a pretty clear indication there's something wrong with a lot of the pro-choice advocates. This is a pretty "damaged" thing to say. Seriously. Quote: The best anaology for a fetus is this A fetus is very much like a burglar. A fetus comes into your womb, and takes nutrients from your body A burglar comes into your home and takes your belongings from it. It doesn't matter if you used a condom or the pill, the fetus still formed and is taking your nutirents It doesn't matter if you locked your door or turned on the alarm, the burglar bypassed your security and still took your belongings. I'm allowed to kill a thief found on my property and/or taking my belongings (I live in Texas) Why should I not be allowed to do the same with a fetus? By the way, the person that wrote this (whose name I wont mention because I'm sure it's against some rule or another) is one of the ones who got all upset when I originally called a lot of the women in the Abortion Debate thread "damaged goods". I'm sorry, but I can't muzzle that. It's patently obvious something is wrong with them.

Wow. Yeah, I've heard that stuff before. But you'd have to add that you basically left a sign out front saying, "If you want, you can come in and try to steal stuff!" because it's not like the fetus just crawled into your womb of it's own volition. It's not some alien that invades you. You created it, whether you meant to or not.

OOh I got a good one and maybe you guys can tell me what you think.
Some said it was like someone inviting themselfs in casue the door wasn't shut.
But I think is more like the door was left open for them and you didn't keep them out or fail to do so (like birth control would keep it from implanting the uterus).
You consent to sex (it's opening the door) and you didn't use birth control or condoms for follow instructions carefully or at all (it's like your not keeping people away) you know there could a possiblity of pregnancy (people coming in the house thinking it's ok and you allowed them to even you don't want them to).
If they don't want people walking in the house and inviting themselfs in, don't leave the door open or tell them to please get out or don't come in.
Maybe i'm going crazy hearing all their "analogies'.

The best burglar is the unconscious ones that you invite into your home who don't take anything and leave after a few months when they can finally make their way out.

Maybe i'm going crazy hearing all their "analogies'. Well if you think about it, birth control is saying, "Don't come in," in that regard. But the whole thing is silly. No, seriously, most burglars aren't dumped into your home by you and your significant other. It's like locking someone into your home and going away for awhile, leaving them no way whatsoever to get out, and then getting mad at them for eating your food. Sure, they're there because of your actions, and they absolutely need to eat your food to survive, but shoot them because you're mad.

The burglar analogy only--ONLY--fits this way:
Burglar comes into my house, eats out of my fridge. Stays hidden in my house for a month or so before I actually notice he's there. When I tell him to leave, he says truthfully, "lady, if I leave I'll DIE. Give me a few more months here and then I can leave. I only eat a little, and my smell might make you nauseous, but kicking me out would kill me and I won't take anything when I leave."
So, being a good person, I just buy a little more food than usual, knowing that in less than a year he'll be out of my life forever anyway.
It makes a bit more sense if you think of the intruder as a Jewish guy during WWII in Germany (for the part where if you don't protect him, he'll die.)

Erasmas_s I originally called a lot of the women in the Abortion Debate thread "damaged goods". I'm sorry, but I can't muzzle that. It's patently obvious something is wrong with them. "Damaged goods" is usually used by sexists to describe a woman like a prostitute, or one who's been raped, not a woman with questionable ethics. That's why they got upset.

That reminds me of pro-choicers who refer to the fetus as a "parasite."
I wish they'd pay more attention in Biology, because a parasite doesn't leave the body.
Anyway, this is a little off topic, but I was just watching Fox News and some lady said that high gas prices are to blame for "too many babies being born" because people can't leave the house as often. It made me giggle slightly. smile

If anything is to blame about "too many babies" is the lack of proper education (someone gave me a link and most of the BC and protection failure is do to human error). People wouldn't be having unexceped pregancies or getting abortions if they had a real sex-ed. Gas prices have nothing to do with it. What are they going to blame next?

Of course it can't be consensual actions and poor decision making that's the cause! I blame video games and rock and roll!

One bright star... @OP: Wow... That's just... Wow. o.o; First off, just because one legally has the right to shoot a burglar, does not make it morally, or even socially, acceptable.
Secondly, as has been pointed out, it's like locking your door and turning on the alarm system, but then leaving a spare key and the code to your alarm in a jar by the front door.
@Undiscovered Artist: That is hilarious. My immediate thought was something along the lines of: "Well, it's too expensive to go see your mother for her birthday, honey, so let's just have wild sex!" "...*smack*"
...in the evening sky
