Tukutu was dreading this day. He was a tricky one, even if he didn't act like it. He had been able to avoid Mafa's other children for so long, but it seemed like his luck was not with him today. And here he was, one that he certainly did not want to see.

The male hyena was furious. If he could, he would have done something about them, but that probably would have turned Mafa against him. Instead he grumbled about them under his breath, keeping himself away from them all the damn time. But today...why! He was actually showing anger on his normally-bland face, and he was ready to pick a fight with the youngster. Who cared if he had seen a few moons? He was still in shape, wasn't he?

Certainly!

Haaah! Today was such a grand day. So finally, Mbezi was able to find that ever elusive creature called Tukutu. And it was quite obvious that he wasn't pleased to see him. Even better! Today would be a grand day, and he'd be able to put the stupid rat in his place. Supposid consort or not, it was common knowledge that it wasn't him who produced an heir. He barely was even fertile, wasn't he? One cub! Haaah! Hahaha! No, Mbezi's own father, prime and full of pride was able to give Mother what she wanted.

Tukut snarled at the obnoxious young hyena. Whwat was he laughing on about? There was nothing funny here, and he would certainly be pleased to say so. "Wut're ye laughin' on 'bout?" he grumbled, tempted to start circling around the hyena that looked so much like him, and Mafa. It was almost frightening. That didn't mean he'd go any easier on the male.

"If'n ya can't tell meh, then ya'd better show meh." He snarled, his frustrations from many moons suddenly fueling the fire. He was unfairly pushing all of it onto this male, but it wasn't like he didn't deserve it, either.

"Oh? You seem quite irritated." He grinned again, begining the circling that he knew was going to start anyway. Might as well quicken things up here, huh? Hopefully no one would notice and interfere, that was the last thing that Mbezi wanted. For now, he would play with the little game, tease and taunt. If it went to fighting....well, he was confident in his abilities, and all he ever head Tukutu doing was sleeping. There was no way that the old lard was going to get the best of him!

"Soo irritated in fact, you must want to attack me." Another wicked grin, knowing what was coming. It was all too much fun!

Tukutu snarled. "Ya know 'xactly wut'ure doin'." Stupid hyena. Were all the young kids so foolish these days? What happened to actually respecting the elders that they were surrounded by? Tukutu needed to teach this stupid hyena some manners, and he was quite ready to begin.

He himself started to continue with the pacing, the circling around. He'd judge just where Mbezi's weak spot was, and give it a good crunch. If he could give the fool a lasting scar, well, good for him. It'd give him something to remember as he grew up and perhaps matured a bit.

Well, the fun was starting to begin, but it seemed to move too slowly for Mbezi. Was he going to have th make the first strike? He didn't want to have to, but her certainly would if he was going to get this party started.

He stopped for a moment, letting his smile fall. "So? Who cares what I'm doing. Nothing. No one. Not even Mama." He didn't know too much about how Tukutu felt towards his mother, but he did know that she would probably always be a sore spot, if only because he lost his chance to be in the limelight. He was nothing but a failure.

"she'd probably be happy if you were gone, hahaha!" He broke out into a fit of hyena laughter, assuming that the other would get angry. He just didn't judge how angry he would get.

"Lies." He himself didn't know if it was the truth, but there was no way that Mbezi knew anything. Mafa only cared about her single daughter, that he knew. Mbezi was nothing to her. As well as he, he regrettibly thought. It was the truth, and he'd just suffer through it. That didn't mean that he had to deal with the taunting of the younger male.

He refused to do the first strike, and judging the ego of the younger male, Mbezi would lose his patience and strike first. With that, Tukutu would show him in his place.

Mbezi snorted with disgust. Fine. Stubborn old man, what did he expect? He didn't think that anything was going to happen if he didn't start anything. He also didn't let his mind think about the fact that he could be blamed on the whole situation if he started it. As well of the fact that if he missed, he'd be wide open for an attack.

He snarled again, flexing his forepaws before leaping, ready to attack. He'd hit the older lion in the side, but land incorrectly, leaving himself open on the side.

Tukutu was able to slide to the side to lessen the blow, but he felt the weight of the other hit him right on the side. With a grunt, he did stumble back a bit, but recovered quickly. With the miscalculation of the younger hyena, Tukutu was able to put all of his power into one sharp pawswipe against the younger hyena's head, sending him backwards in a tumble.

That took more energy than he had expected it too, so he had only hoped that it would make the younger one leave. He had recieved a warning from his elder, and he should listen to it. Right now.

Ooowww. s**t. That hurt much more than Mbezi had every expected. How did one such as him, doing nothing but sitting around and disappearing on everyone, have that much strength behind him?! THe scent of blood shocked him back to reality, and he knew that it was his blood. Some dripped onto the floor below him, and the side of his head was growing sticky from the blood, as well as hot. He was embarassed, highly. With the blood gathering around his eyes, he knew that he wouldn't be able to attack again without missing.

He snarled at the other, furious, slinking off to take care of his wound. He may have won today, perhaps forever. With a blow like that, Mbezi didn't know how he would be in a real fight. While he liked good fun, that didn't mean that he wanted to throw his life away.

Tukutu watched the younger hyena slip off, feeling triumphant. He could do s**t when he wanted to, but he never wanted to bother. Hopefully that would teach a lesson to everyone in the damn pack. Even if he wasn't Alpha, he was Consort, and he'd keep everyone in their place if they didn't give him the mild bit of respect he wanted. They could say what they wanted behind his back, but Tuk wouldn't put up with hearing it right in front of him.

Now, a treat. Tuk was hungry.

Mbezi returned to the spot after Tukutu had left, his teal eyes narrowing to the direction that Tukutu had gone. That had been impossible. The blood stopped dripping down his face, hardening from the air and dirt that was packed onto it. There had to be something that he could do against Tukutu.

It wouldn't be strength, that was certain. Tukutu didn't have much of a brain, though, so perhaps he could get him into some sort of trouble....a wicked grin grew on his face. Oh, he knew exactly what to do, and it would be fantastic.

"Tukutu, you're doomed," he said to himself. "You'll be thrown out of here, even if it's the last great thing I do." Another cackle, one that ran through the the broken skulls of the elephants that had died in generations past.
