Sailorcancer2004 I'm not buying this time exclusive people are saying. Tri ace isn't one for porting games. I've heard there is already a timed exclusive for the 360 from SE/Tri-ace that's confirmed to be going to the PS3 later. So it might be possible...but I don't know. They said SO4 might or might not go to the PS3...I hope it does so I don't have to shell out for a 360 sooner than I wanted to...*sigh* MS just had to moneyhat my favorite game.

Eh, I've been under a rock lately...I just got pissed since this was announced. Square Enix is doing Last Remenant, but Tri Ace isn't involved with it. Though I personally haven't hear anything about a Tri Ace game coming to the 360 first followed by a PS3 release. THERE have been comparisons to the other JRPGs that the 360 have recieved first followed by a PS3 release. Enchanted Arms Eternal Sonata Tales of Vesperia. I have NO CLUE if the Tales game has been like actually confirmed as coming to the PS3, but I do know that Bandai Namco had it as a 360/PS3 game on there Japanese site, but took it down after a couple of hours. The same thing happened with Eternal Sonata. They had that it was coming to the PS3 on there site, took it down and like a week later was offically coming to the PS3.

Aren't SE and Tri-Ace pretty much the same people? sweatdrop Different I know, but closely related.
The thing is, they aren't outright denying a PS3 release. They said it might or might not. They might just be keeping there mouth shut so the 360 has it's hype with it first since MS is probably helping fund it. Really it's just wishful thinking on my part...I'm really disappointed by this...it's just driven me to the edge even if I don't really care for the 360 that much.

Tri Ace is actually a private dev team. They just seem to like Enix/Square Enix as their pub.

I would somehow doubt that a popular title like SO4, will remian soley on the 360, simply because they wont want to piss off the home audiance, and last time I checked, 360 sales suck in Japan.

Ace Combat comes to mind here... It's looking like it's going to remain a 360 exclusive and the game is massive in Japan. Anyways, I can't really bring myself to care too much, but I've never really cared for the Star Ocean series.

Team Xbox interviewing Yoshinori Yamagishi from tri-Ace Since Star Ocean 1 through 3 were on the PSP, why the Xbox 360 for Star Ocean 4? And why call this Star Ocean 4 when it’s actually a prequel in a sense to Star Ocean, the series. Why not Star Ocean Zero? Is there a new direction that you’re heading in with the Star Ocean series in general? Yoshinori Yamagishi: In terms of why the name Star Ocean 4, the development code for the title was actually “Zero,” since it is the origin of the Star Ocean series, but calling it “Zero” in the actual title, that title has such a negative connotations. We wanted to bring an actual numbered title, and that’s how we arrived at Star Ocean 4. In terms of why Xbox 360…the simple answer to this is just that, when we started development on it, the Xbox 360 hardware was the only one that was ready to begin. The PS3 was not fully available at the moment to start development. That’s the honest answer to that.

I hope PSP means PlayStation Platform.
And... the first Star Ocean was on the SNES and then remade on the PSP.
@Drinky McIrish
Isn't that coming to the PS3?

Yeah...shows how much Microsoft knows about their competition. Anyway, so the PS3 isn't ready yet... The only reason I can think that they would say that would be if they started developing this like years ago when the only real dev kit was the 360s. But who knows, that whole question part looked BS to me. Drinky McIrish Sailorcancer2004 @Drinky McIrish Isn't that coming to the PS3? As far as I know, Namco has no plans to port it. Shows how much I can remember dates. I'm remember rumors from Feb.
