*Continueing from where we left off*
Scorch skidded to a stop in time. He now stood before the vaporeon girl whom he had observed from under his tree while reading the book she now held before him. His lean sleek body structure, which he usually was slightly hunched over hands in his pockets, was now standing straight before the new found pokemon. He was quite tall really which he tended to hide on purpose in hopes of not getting noticed.
"Erm... ummmm.... " Scorch's talents did not enclude socializing to say the least. Specially to a girl he found his heart flutter nervous and his brain melt to goosh. "Book .. mine.. you ... have.." the words came out wrong in his nervous struggle with him self to spit out what he wanted to say. " Uhh uhh.. I mean to say... " He took a breath, " Can I~" He squeaked a high pitch squeak. Scorch could have died right there right then with his face now beat red and his back fire went out.

A small smile made it's way across Undine's face as she looked up at the taller male. She wasn't short by any means, but he was taller than her. "You want this~?" she asked teasingly, waving the book under his nose, but snatching it away before he could grasp it. "I'll give you what you want, if you help me find what I want~"

Scorch tried to grab the book out of the vaporeons hand, thinking she was being kind returning it, but was quickly mistaken for his thoughts. His mouth hung open slightly as he watched the book be denied from him and his hand fell to his side. Ears up now listening to what the Vaporeon had to say.
"Just what are you up to?" He tilted his head speaking before thinking eyes open wider.

She moved the book behind her back, her long tail swishing. "I'm looking for the pond that's on the grounds. I wanna go swimming, but the pool is being cleaned. The grounds are huge though, so you're going to help me find it and I'll give you your book," she said with an impish grin.

Scorch tilted his head, was she serious? His hands felt their way into his pockets as he leaned over a bit now a tad shorter then he had once been.
"A pond eh? " His voice returning to its normal tone slowly. Scorch couldnt help but feel lax his since of humor had just been tickled. "Cause you know fire types hang around ponds all the time," He grinned but did not laugh or chuckle. "It seems important tot you so I'll help you." The question now was where to begin?

She rolled her eyes at that. "You shower don't you? Then you can swim." She turned to survey the land, swiftly moving the book from his reach again. "I already looked back that way." She pointed to the way she had come. "So what about.. that way?" Turning back to look at him, she gestured in the opposite area.

Scorch chocked on a chuckle by closing his mouth and biting his lip hard. Debating with her seemed like a waist of time so he would just do what she wanted with no questions or comments.
"That way?" His voice squeaked some at the end of the question. He coughed some to get his nerves back to where they needed to be , "That way?" he asked again with a more manly low tone. (but not by much) " I think there may be a small creek but I dont know. Ive never been over there my self." He remembered over hearing about a creek though. In all honesty, Scorch had no idea where it was or if it would lead to a lake or not.

"A creek? Hmm." She noticed his doubtful look and rolled her eyes again. Silly fire types. Always afraid of water. She wasn't afraid of fire or electricity! Babies. "If there's just a creek, I guess that'll do.." She shook her head and stuck his book in her bag. "Well then, this way we go!"

Scorch stared at her pouch longingly for a brief moment before shuffling after.
"Im not sure if it will lead us to a bigger body of water or not but in theory it should," He nodded a smile curling as he watched the bag swing from side to side. Maybe he could steal his book back after all or maybe... BAM !
Scorch found him self flat on his back on the forests floor looking up at the above canopy of the tree's. He had walked into a branch not paying attention to where he was headed. His hand found its way to his for head which was now throbbing.

"Yeah, that's the general idea..." She was scanning the area around them for the creek, a frown on her face. Little did he know, if he had so much as reached for the bag, she would have nailed him with her tail. "Do you think it'll be deep enough to swim in?" she asked, turning around to find him on the ground. Her blue eyes widened. "Well, kiddo. I can't say lying on the dirt is a smart idea..."

Scorch turned to his side and propped him self up to his feet again. His hand still on his forhead.
"Walking into a branch is an even dumber idea," He retorted with a smirk. "Ahh, Ive never seeked out the creek before. I wouldnt know," He continued to nurse the bruise with his hand. "I dont go swimming often"

"I couldn't tell," she teased, looking up at him. "Seriously though, you okay?" She tossed her hair over her shoulder, genuine worry on her face. She might like to tease, but she didn't want anyone to get hurt.

Scorch noticed the worried look that she gave him and he relaxed some.
"Nah I think I may die" he said in a semi serious tone. Teasing was slightly out of character for such a shy Quilava but if he felt eased around someone he could.
The sound of slow moving water caused his ears to flick. The red headed wayward, still holding his forhead, started towards the soft sound of water. "I think its this way" he motioned for her to follow. Holding back branches this time as he went to avoid the same mistake.

She stuck her tongue out at that, but there was a smile on her face. "Well, in that case, we better hurry to the creek so I can give you your book and you can finish it before you do." She followed after him, her tail twitching with anticipation.

Scorch winced as he watched her stick her tongue out but did not return the favor, nor pout. The memory of his book jogged threw his mind, why did he go with paper back on a windy day? He shrugged it off pushing branches back as he went until the water gurgling noises were clearer and you could almost smell the mud beds that rand about the side of the creek. They were close.
