Wendell held Invidia's hand with one hand and a small suitcase in his other. He and his parents were taking their annual trip to the Netherlands to visit his father's family and Wendell didn't want to put Invidia through that. For one he didn't know how he'd get her on the plane and two how he'd explain her to the rest of his family. He couldn't leave her with Clara, mostly because Invidia hated Clara, and he couldn't leave her with Max due to his already large menagire. The only other person he knew was Korea and he had been hestitant about asking her.
They hadn't spent much time together after the meeting where Invidia grew but he still liked her enough to ask. Thankfully she had said yes. The teenager put the suitcase down and knocked on Korea's door. He smiled softly at Invidia. "Don't worry. She'll take good care of you and I'll be back in about a week or so."
Invidia had not been happy to learn Wendell would be leaving her. But he explained it was only for a short time and he knew she would be unhappy where he was going. At least he cared. Then she found out she was to be staying with Korea and Fiero. She had learned manners since thier last meeting so she didn't hit all that much any more, only when she got really angry. She had also mastered a great deal of sign language and some bit of writing. So she could at least communicate with the two she would be staying with. As Wendell knocked, she waited silently.

Korea answered the door, in a generally good mood. Fiero hovered behind her anxiously. He'd been looking forward to Invidia's arrival all day, and most of the arrangements for her stay had been his doing. He'd converted the sofa into a bed-like thing he could use and gone to some trouble making sure the room he used was decorated in a way which shouldn't offend Invidia's sensibilities. His bed was covered in dark magenta sheets and he'd taken down his lacier curtains and replaced them with heavier curtains which kept out the light better. Despite his memories that Invidia wasn't overly fond of joy and hilarity, he couldn't keep the grin from his face.
"Invidia!" he signed enthusiastically as he said it aloud, crooking his index finger beside his mouth and rotating his wrist inward so his palm faced his chest. "And Wendell!"
Korea couldn't help smiling at Fiero's evident joy. She wasn't happy with him, still, but she wouldn't deny him happiness just because she was still miffed. She knew she really ought to forgive him, too, since he was torturing himself, but she was feeling a bit vindictive.
"Come in," Korea said to Wendell and Invidia.

Wendell smiled softly and entered, still holding Invidia's hand. "I really appriciate ths Korea. I really don't think Invidia could survive my family.....nor could my family survive her." He ruffled her hair a bit before looking to Fiero. "I see you've been practicing your sign language. Invidia's really good at it now and she can write some simple words. At least then Korea will have some idea of what she needs." He took his ward's things into the room prepared for her and set her suitcase down. "She doesn't have much. Just a few books, her learning supplies for reading and writing, and some hair barrettes."
Invidia nods to Fiero. "Hello." She looked around the new place, trying to get use to it. She was far too use to Wendell's room and home which was a stark difference to this place. But she did like her room a lot better. She went to touch the dark curtains which blocked out the invading sunlight. Then she examined the sheets on the bed. Normally Invidia just slept curled up with Wendell, it would be strange sleeping by herself. She looked to Fiero. "Thank You"

"You're welcome," Fiero said as he signed. "We're glad to help."
Korea couldn't quite follow what Fiero was signing. She hadn't been as stringent about practicing as he had been. But he dis speak aloud, too, and she could understand that easily.
"That's right. It's no problem for us at all. Fiero's mostly going to be looking after her, since I've still got classes and stuff to do, but I'll be around in case anything comes up he can't handle for whatever reason."
"Room okay?" Fiero signed. He didn't say it aloud. The question was directed solely at Invidia.

Wendell nodded as he watched his muse look about her new surroundings. He wondered if his mother felt the same way he did right now the first time she had to leave him with someone else for awhile. He almost felt guilty about leaving her so far away from him but he had no choice. But he trusted the two and maybe Invidia would learn something from this experience.
"She's not all that difficult to take care of. She's actually quite independant. Just be sure to take her down to the cemetary a few times, she enjoys spending some time there. She also doesn't eat all that much since well....she has no stomach." That had been something his mother still had trouble getting use to. She was always cooking her something, even if she couldn't eat it.
"Yes. It is fine." Invidia floated back over to Wendell and touched his hand a bit. She didn't want him to go but knew she couldn't stop him. Well she could stop him but that would not be proper manners. He took care of her so she should do what he says, at least for now.
"Well I've got to go. Mother and Father are waiting for me in the car. I'll call when I get there Invidia, even if you can't talk to me over the phone." He patted her head and walked out the door to the waiting car below. He was soon back up with a rather miffed look and a box of cookies.
"Mother says thanking you for being so kind and generous. Here is a token of her appriciation." His words were rather monotone and obviously something his mother told him to say. Once delivered he went back down stairs.
Invidia floated back into her room and opened her suitcase. Inside were here eraser board for writing, a large picture book to help her ask for things she couldn't say or write yet, and some simple children's books. Despite her memories of the past she hadn't remembered quite how to read and write yet, so she was still learning.

"Thanks. I'm glad I could be helpful," Korea said, accepting the cookies. She watched from the window until he got safely to the car and then went to find Invidia.
"Please make yourself at home, and like I said, I'm going to leave most of your care to Fiero," she told Invidia. "Fiero knows what kind of responsibility it is, but if there's anything you need or if you have a problem with Fiero or something, don't hesitate to come to me."
Fiero had not followed Invidia into her room. He figured that she deserved to have time to herself to get adjusted to the new situation and circumstances. He waited outside, in the living area, trying not to feel anxious. Everything would be just fine.
Eh. Short. Sorry.

Invidia also watched Wendell pull away. She sighed softly, wondering what would become of her in the time he was gone. Normally he was there to correct her in her behavior and she trusted him to tell her what was right to do. It was also difficult since very few people knew sign language. Only Fiero did here. Oh yeah, Fiero.
Invidia wandered out of the room she was to stay in and looked about for the redhead. She nodded to him and floated over. "So what now?"
^_^;; Short for me too

Fiero smiled, showing just the barest hint of white teeth. Smiles came easily to him when he was relaxed and content. He wasn't quite content, the situation with Korea being what it was, but he was getting there, and Invidia's presence was a welcome distraction. For both of them.
"Whatever you'd like to do, we can do. I have t-i-c-k-e-t-s to an a-m-u-s-e-m-e-n-t p-a-r-k we can use sometime." He had to spell out "tickets" and "amusement park" as he spoke, not knowing the appropriate signs for them.
He glanced over his shoulder to the kitchen area where Korea was storing cookies and making pasta of some sort with a meat sauce. He had a very good sense of smell, and he was used to Korea's menus.
"What do you do in the c-e-m-e-t-a-r-y? Do you know people there?" As usual, he signed as he spoke. It was the only way to get better.

Invidia new what tickets and the park was, but what was so amuzing about it? She didn't ever remember going to one of those before. She wondered if they had a slide like when she was an orb. "A-m-u-z-e-m-e-n-t park."
She blinked a little when he asked about the cemetary. How did she explain this in a way he'd understand. She thought for a few minutes, gathering her thoughts and what words she knew in her language. "Not know people. Feel people. Feel emotion. Know why die. Feel all emotion."
That was a good description, at least in her mind. When Invidia was in a cemetary, it was as if each grave spoke of it's occupants. Each had a story, each had a life and death. Not all were good, some were quite bad. Others were short like a child's grave. Elderly people told the best stories in her mind. Stories of happy times. Times she didn't remember for herself. Especially in her dreams.
"We go to park now? Why does it amuze?"

"Park tomorrow?" Fiero signed about the amusment park. "Is late today. A-m-u-s-e is...be fun? Is fun..." He sighed in exasperation and said without signing, "There're big machines you can ride on and they're supposed to be very fun. I've never been, but some are pretty scary, I hear. Others aren't."
He considered her answer about the cemetary. He felt he could understand what she was saying and what she meant, even though he couldn't empathize. He supposed she found it comforting to be there, or something. Meh. Mysteries.
"Korea is making dinner now. Want to sit with us if not eating?"
So short! Brain dead.

Rides? Hmm. She crossed her arms as she considerd what he said. That would be interesting she thought. But it seemed she would have to wait till tomorrow before she could go. But were they scary like Fiero said? She hoped not, because when she was scared she tended to scream. That was never a good thing with sensitive human ears around and even more sensitive elf ears.
At the mention of dinner she nodded a bit, her long hair straying infront of her oddly colored eyes. "Yes. No meat please." Like her guardian, Invidia was turning into a vegetarian. She didn't like eating meat for bad memories it seemed to bring to her. As she floated over to the kitchen she hoped the dreams wouldn't come here. She didn't need to cry infront of these people. It was bad enough when Wendell saw her.
"Invidia help?" Another by product of living with a high schooler was not having much for her to do during the day. So Invidia was usually helping his mother around the house to keep busy. Being in the kitchen was just a natural place.

Fiero hastened to the kitchen after Invidia and quickly translated for Korea, just in time to stop her adding ground beef to the tomato sauce.
"It's going to go bad," she muttered good-naturedly. "I'd appreciate the help, Invidia. Would you like to add salt to the water in the pot on the stove, and then add noodles?"
Fiero watched out of the corner of his eye for Invidia's response so he could translate. Korea's attention was already elsewhere, so she wouldn't be able to see what Invidia said to her. Pasta was in a plastic bag held shut with a twisty-tie and salt was on the stove. The pasta looked like angel hair from where Fiero hovered.
He sniffed the air experimentally to test the sauce Korea was making and said plaintively, "More oregano, please? And a pinch of basil?"
Korea made home-made sauce, but she refused to make pasta, though she claimed to know how. Usually she bought bags or boxes of pasta from the store such as the bag she had directed Invidia to with a casual wave of her hand.

The banshee nodded when she was asked to complete the simple tasks. First, like any good cook, she washed her hands before starting her work. Floating over to the water she added a pinch of salt and started putting the noddles into the water. She considered what Korea said about the meat and looked to Fiero. "Put small bowl for me. Put meat in rest. Meat not be bad then."
This was what Wendell's mother did with some of her dishes. She was understanding of her son's preference for no meat so she always put just enough aside for his meal so he could still enjoy the rest of the family dinner. Once she was satisfied she wouldn't waste the food, a sin in Wendell's household, she went back to the pasta. She looked to Fiero. "This good with bread. We make bread?"

"Can make bread. Will take longer. Bread done after dinner," Fiero replied after interpreting Invidia's message about the meat for Korea. He grinned at the idea.
Korea was appreciative of Invidia's suggestion and went about doing just that. She signed "thank you" to Invidia before doing so, however. "Good thought," she signed.
Fiero went to the fridge, where a roll of bread sat on one of the shelves. It wouldn't be as good as the bread Invidia probably got with Wendell's family. However, it was easy to make. Take it out of the package, put it in a pan, put it in the oven. Take it out and it's a loaf of bread. Ewan had brought it over earlier in the day, concerned that Korea's charge would die from Korea's usual diet of pizza and beer. He followed the instructions on the bread and shoved it into the oven. He set the microwave timer, since they didn't have a real kitchen timer in the apartment.
"What're you doing?" Korea asked.
"Making bread. Invidia mentioned that it tastes good with pasta and sauce. I've never tried it that way. Does it taste like pizza?"
"Not really," Korea answered, looking dubious.

Invidia smiled a bit at Korea's praise. The female didn't seem the normal type she was use to be around. Perky and overly happy all the damn time. This one seemed laid back. She listened to the two talk about the bread and Fiero's question. She smirked a bit and went to the fridge. There she took out some butter then dug through Korea's cabinets until she found some garlic. With all these she made a spread in a bowl.
"When bread almost done, take out, cut in half, spread this. Then put back in. Taste very good." Invidia actually loved garlic bread more than the pasta, but apparently these guys didn't know how to make it. Mrs. Van de Burg did and had shown Invidia. She was actually a fairly decent cook when she had help.
"You cook much? Envy cook with Wind-L mother every day."
