November sighed softly, her nose gently caressing her swollen belly, feeling the gentle movements of the foals within her. She hadn't expected to become pregnant so soon, but was glad that her days of having an "empty nest" were over, for a while at least. She sighed again, remembering how quickly her foals grew up the last time. She nuzzled her belly again, smiling as one of the foals moved under her nose. Alyna had recently learned of her mother's pregnancy, because she had only returned from her travels the day before. She couldn't be happier, as she would get more siblings to play with and tease. She grinned as she lay near her mother, enjoying the tickling feeling of the grass against her fur, and watching the foals move around in her mother's belly. They sure were active little things! Alyna could distinctly see their little legs shuffling and moving. She wondered how her mother could stand it, she thought it would be rather annoying. But November seemed happy, and that was the most important thing.

Little Riyaz happily scampered through the tall grasses, chasing a small butterfly with colors as bright as his own. Optimistic about his world, and innocently oblivious at the same time, the small flutter colt gave up his chase when his short attention span focused on a thing...or something like a thing hanging from one of the branches on a tree.
Toddling over, Riyaz craned his neck and watched in awe as little bugs buzzed in and out of the black holes in the thing while a mute buzzing filled the silence. Blinking bright violet eyes, he sniffed.....Mmmmm....was that honey he smelled coming from the thingy? Maybe the buggies would share some with Riyaz!

November lay down in the grass beside her daughter, letting out a small "oof" as she did so, because, of course, it was much more difficult for her to lay down nowadays due to the roundness of her mid-section. Closing her eyes, she drifted off into a light slumber.
Alyna curled up against her mother, being careful not to squash the unborn foals, and lay her head against her back. Although her body was relaxed, her ears were straight and alert, listening for any danger that could befall her or her mother.

Interested even more, little Ri stepped closer and into a zone where some of the bugs considered him a danger to their home. As the colt licked some of the honey that had dripped down from above away from his muzzle, a small cloud of the bugs started swarming around him.
Ears perked, he tried to flap them away with his wings only.....that didn't help much; on the contrary, it made the situation much much worse.
Which was pronouced when a stinger was introduced to Riyaz. In return, he squealed unhappily at the sharp pain and tried to run away; the bees gave chase, intent on removing the intruder.
"HALP! HALP! MEAN BUGGIES IS CHASING RIYAZ!"

Driven by some maternal instinct, November snapped to attention. "Something's wrong." A simple statement, yet it carried so much weight. Looking around, she saw nothing, heard nothing, but she knew. Something wasn't right.
Alyna, startled by her mother's sudden movement, peered around as well. "Mama, I don't see anything..." But then, they heard it. A cry for help that could only come from one creature. Riyaz. "Stay here, Mama. I'll go get him!!" And with that, Alyna jumped up, and bolted toward the sound of Ri's voice. "Ri!!!" she yelled, "can you hear me???"

Riyaz instantly turned and darted towards the familiar voice, squeaking as more bees attempted to do him harm. He flailed as he ran, practically flying towards the familiar mare.
"ALYNA! HALP RIYAZ!" He ran by and took sharp turns while trying to stay near her, some of the bees giving up while other relentlessly attacked. 'The mean buggies are mean! They hurt too!"

November watched her daughter race off, worry in her eyes. What had Ri gotten himself in to this time?
Alyna kept running, the little flutter coming into her sight shortly. "BEES?!?! You messed with BEES? Oh, Ri!!" she exclaimed, racing beside him. Fortunately, Alyna knew that there was a stream nearby. "Ri! Follow me to the stream! I can get rid of them then!" Alyna took off in front of him, needing to get to the stream first in order to be ready for the bees.

ALyna didn't need to send anymore encouragement to the young colt; little Riyaz was off like a shot towards where Alyna had run off to.
After a few moments of running like no tomorrow, the waters of the stream came into view along with Alyna standing at ready. Reaching the shoreline, Riyaz instantly lounched himself foreward and hit the water with a loud splash.

And Alyna was ready for him. As soon as he hit the water, she struck the stream violently, sending a big splash of water directly at the bees. What bees weren't struck by water and carried away in the stream turned away and flew back to their hive. Except one. The brave bee turned on it's attacker, and stung Alyna square on the nose. Tears welled up in her eyes as she stuck her nose in the stream, drowning the bee, and cooling the sting. Trying to hold back tears, she pulled her nose out of the stream and smiled gently at Riyaz. "Are you okay?"
