Zaurak Cho Chang- Ravenclaw seeker, Cedric''s ex-girlfriend, and Harry''s first crush- intelligent, polite, kind, over-dramatic and despised by most of the Harry Potter fan-world. Why? Thats it right there, over-dramatic. I know the whole situation with Harry meeting Hermione didnt look too good, but she should have let him explain. She was just too stupid for me to like her.

So your only reason for disliking Cho is her being overdramatic? But taht's not fair! Plenty of charcters ave much worse attached to their names- Draco is cruel, Snape....did something that I can't say because there isn't spoiler in this thread's title, Sirius is a total prat and they all have legions of adoring fans. yet, Cho succumbs to tears and a little teen angst and is instantly written off as a whiny b***h.
Methinks it all seems a bit hypocritical.
*This is referring to fandom as a whole, not to you in particular. I have nothing against you. smile

What you say against KitsuneTsuki is in my opinion harsh. She is after all expressing her views just like you asked. No, I personally am not a fan of Cho, but she is placed in such a way that is very very common in highschool. The one person that you like so much but when you finally get a chance find youself changed in your view of that person. She is common love interest to Harry. I myself would definately prefer Ginny and Harry over Harry and Cho.
She has lost yes, but she doesn't exactly have a super idea on how other feel about the same thing. Which is quite understandable. She needed to be a little more conscious of how harry felt on the subject, especially during the whole valentine fiasco. Thought Harry wasn't exactly the best there. They both were at fault, but she never gave him a another chance. Well, that does remain to be seen, but I don't think it will happen.

I'm not saying I want Cho and Harry together. I'm just pointing out that it's hypocritical to hate Cho when she has nowhere near as many flaws or bad points as other adored charcters.
I like Ginny and Harry as a couple, I'm just saying cho;s seriously getting teh short end of the stick.

 Cho may be getting the short end of the stick but some people think she diserves it. *Shrugs* I neither hate cho nor like her i'm neutral on this subject. She's a well written charactor for what she's in the book and i'm a Harry/Draco kinda person...

You know I've never really stopped to think why I hate her.... All I know is I've hated her since she was first introduced, much like Ginny annoyed me since the begining. There just this quality about her... it makes you feel sick to your stomache... and she may be book smart, but in the ways of the world she seems like an idiot... *GASP* She's the beautiful little fool in Harry Potter! HOLY CRAP! She's incapable love... And now you are probably confused but I just made a discovery about HP and The Great Gatsby that my friends will get! Cho is Daisy.

I really never minded Cho that much. And I thought that everyone liked her for some reason... And I thought everyone liked Fleur too...but obviously not in the sixth book, haha. rofl

I don't like Cho because she's a drama queen. I hate drama queen. I mean, I like the sound of her at frist then I found out that she was a snob/drama queen. Now, I hate her. =D Plus, she seems to go for the famous guys.

She's too perfect. She lacks depth that the other flawed characters have. Cho seems very much like a Mary-Sue, and a cheap ploy to make Harry "normal." (as in actually showing interest in girls) Personally, I thought she was very boring, and almost every scene with her seemed so corny and contrived.

That is the thing with cho, she is a character that people love to hate cause she was designed that way. She reminds a lot of the people I know of relationships that went to hell and back and those people lost many a friend from it. Therefore, just from reliving those memories cause the troubles that were caused between Harry and cho the readers have come to hate Cho. That is what I gather at least.

I have nothing against you. smile It's not hypocritical because it's not the same negative trait. Nor does she have (at least all) the same positive traits that those other characters have. Sure, Sirius is a prat, as you say, but there are other traits about him that weigh that out. Not to mention, some of his negative traits make him more human, and therefore more likeable as a character. And to compare Cho with Snape is like comparing a thimble of water to an ocean. Snape is one of the, if not the, most in-depth characters in the book, whereas Cho is a 2-dimensional minor character. Really, the most we get of Cho's personality is her over-dramaticness (probably not a word...), as her supposedly being smart and her being a seeker really don't describe her personality. As for her being polite, that's not such a great trait that it makes up for her being over-dramatic. And I guess she's also loyal to her friends, and that's good and all, but again, doesn't make up for her annoying trait. Maybe she doesn't really deserve to be hated, but she certainly doesn't deserve to be loved either (as a character), and she's barely likeable. Remember, we're not talking about real people, we're talking about characters, and there's something different about liking a character (in many cases) than there is about liking a real person. Maybe I would like Cho if I knew her, and I'm sure quite a few Draco-lovers would actually not like Draco if they really knew him (To be honest, I can't quite defend the Draco-loving like I can the Snape- and Sirius-loving, at least, pre-HBP; he did get a little more 3-dimensional in the 6th book). But, as a character, Cho's not all that remarkable.

I kinda made my own opinion of Cho, and it just happen to be that I did not like her. At first she came off like this really nice girl that Harry liked. But then he got really dramatized. I don't know any guy that would want to sit in a cafe on Valentine's Day and talk about a guy that their girl use to date that they just happen to see get killed. sweatdrop I think that was one point that she really couldn't go back from with me. I mean, ok she needed to talk about it. But then? Really...
