(I figured it was about time I should start setting this up. Read on for details!)
The Penguin has escaped and is gathering together as many of his fellow super villains as he can get to ally with him. The objective: to cause unlawfulness, mayhem, and just (maybe) the end of Batman!

"Nyah ha ha ha!! On with the show, we say!"

Setting and Overview:
Gotham City, ala what will probably be my own weird mix of "Golden Age" comic book stuff, the Adam West "Batman" TV show, and "Batman the Animated Series." (Mainly because these are the incarnations of Batman that I'm most familiar with.) So be prepared for campy yet dark fun.
The Usual Rules, Guidelines, and So Forth:
~~Please observe all guild rules.~~
~~My word is law.~~
~~No god-modding. Also, do not attempt to make your badguy/gal into a "Marty/Mary Sue." That is, the awesomest, faultless, most coolest person in the whole wide world who very quickly upstages all the other characters (and who may or may not be your obvious alter-ego.)~~
~~No cybering.~~
~~Romance is all right I guess, but keep in mind what I've just said about "no cybering."~~
~~I don't care how much you write so long as you use proper spelling and grammar. * * or [ ] to denote action is acceptable (although I'd much rather have you type things out in story format) and try to stick to third-person past tense. If your posts are too hard to follow (or whatever) I'll let you know.~~
~~Use {{ }} or (( )) for out-of-game comments.~~
~~The only character you should have any control over is YOUR OWN. Everyone will be in charge of his or her respective character and all NPC's will be run by ME. Just so we're clear on that. Also, do not introduce ANY new characters into play (except for possibly henchmen/thugs; we're super villains after all) unless you have cleared it with me beforehand.~~
~~No killing another player's character without getting their permission first.~~
~~Do NOT attempt to sideline the plot with your own story ideas (or if you'd like to try something, please be sure to at least consult with me first.) This is a very good way to get me annoyed and may result in bad (or at least bizarre) things happening to your character.
~~Unless there's a good reason, do not split up or go wandering off on your own too much. This is also a good way to annoy me, and I can't be held responsible for my actions.~~
~~The "dice roll" post action thing will be used for some things in game, most notably to resolve combat. (I'll explain more as play gets underway.) I may also decide to use it for stuff above and beyond that, too.~~
~~Do not abuse "out-of-character" knowledge. That is, stuff that you yourself know but that your villain might not be aware of. For example, you may have figured out that the group is pretty much just walking right into a deathtrap but your person in-game might be completely oblivious to what's actually happening: just something to bear in mind.~~
~~If you do sign up to play, I expect you to actively participate. I'm not saying you can't sluff off for a day or two, or always have to be contributing constantly, but if two or three (or more) weeks go by and you STILL haven't posted anything I may remove you completely from the game (unless you've given me some kind of prior warning and a decent explanation.)~~
~~Feel free to PM me anytime during gameplay with any comments, questions, or concerns you might have.~~
~~PM me with the subject heading "Bats, Man" to let me know you're interested along with your character profile (see below.) Be sure to also include "the clown laughs at dawn" somewhere in your PM so I know for certain that you've read all my rules.~~
Other rules and so forth to be added as needed.
Character Profiles:
The following is a "skeleton" profile to help you flesh out your villain character. (And no, you can't play a "goodguy;" this would place you directly at odds with the other players and is just not a good idea.) Established antagonists from the Batman canon (meaning all official comics, movies, TV shows, etc.) are preferred --even more so if they're the really famous ones like the Riddler, the Joker, Catwoman, Mr. Freeze, etc.-- although I may allow for original characters if you can come up with something good. Also note that the Penguin is off-limits since I'm (as if you couldn't already guess) going to be playing him myself. Quack quack quack!
Gaia Username: (Your username/login, obviously.)
Character Name: (The name of your Bat-Villain.)
Super Villain Abilities/Powers/Weapons/Etc.: (What your villain is capable of-- such as immunity to poisons, carries high-tech umbrellas that can serve various functions, can freeze objects just by touching them, that sort of stuff.)
Modus Operandi: (How your badguy/gal operates. Like "always leaves a riddle at the scene of every crime he commits" or "makes all their decisions by way of flipping a coin." )
Weakness(es): (Where would a good baddy be without some sort of achilles' heel? These have the very definite tendency to tie in with many a Bat-Foe's "mode of operation"/criminal persona and besides which, they make things more fun.)
Appearance: (Can be either a written description and/or picture(s) of what your character looks like. Whatever works.)
And here is the profile again in code, to make things a little easier for y'all:

Rogue's Gallery:
Gaia Username: r_s_boston
Character Name: Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepott, a.k.a. "The Penguin"
Super Villain Abilities/Powers/Weapons/Etc.: Criminal genius, assorted bird-related paraphernalia, deadly 'trick' umbrellas, vast underworld connections, skilled in organized leadership, and is an expert in judo. (This is all according to Wikipedia.org, anyway. I was too lazy to come up with anything on my own.)
Modus Operandi: The Penguin fancies himself to be a "gentleman criminal," and is thus above such things as centering his misdeeds around a particular "theme" and what not. Which is kind of ironic since he often works his love of birds into he does and possesses a certain trademark-- namely his high-tech umbrellas (which he can deploy for any number of specialized uses: hang-gliding, shooting out poisonous gas, etc.)
Weakness(es): Tends to be rather pompous and full of himself, and can be easily blinded by his sense of pride in being, as he puts it anyhow, an "Aristocrat of Crime."
Appearance: Short and rather pudgy, he has a receding hairline, prominent "beak"-like nose, and walks with a slight waddle. He is (generally) dressed in a tuxedo and top hat with gloves, spats over his shoes, a monocle, and always has an elegant cigarette holder clenched between his teeth. (See below for images.)

Gaia Username: Half-Demon Kaoru
Character Name: Harley Quinn
Super Villain Abilities/Powers/Weapons/Etc.: a talented gymnast/Great Agility/Immunity to toxins
Modus Operandi: 'Laughter solves Everything'
Weakness(es): She has so many weaknesses. For one thing, the poor dear is insane and finds that if you don't have a smile on your face deserve a punch in the face. Her insanity drives people away resulting in her not having many friends. Another weakness, well she's human. Guns and knifes can kill and hurt her when she's hit by them. The last is a weakness all the girls have, their hearts. Poor Harls will do anything for the Joker..and I mean anything.
Appearance:

Gaia Username: Edward_Nigma_Riddler
Character Name: Edward Nigma "The Riddler"
Super Villain Abilities/Powers/Weapons/Etc.: Cares around a cain that is a remote for traps, and is an ingeniuos hacker
Modus Operandi: Always leaves a riddle at the scene of every crime he commits
Weakness(es): If he is out smarted he needs to know how they solved the riddle and what the answer to there riddle is, or else he has a complete mental break down.
Appearance:

(We're also going to have a Joker, too, apparently, if Jimbo Rich ever sends me his character.)
The Good Guys:
Character Names: Batman and Robin
Status: NPC's controlled by r_s_boston
Super Hero Abilities/Powers/Weapons/Etc.: Both are highly intelligent, skilled in various forms of unarmed combat, carry annoying utility belts that hold just about anything they could possibly need to get out of any given situation, and are quite capable detectives. They also have access to several known vehicles (including the Batmobile, Batcycle, Batboat, and Batcopter); have a bottomless supply of Bat-a-rangs and other useful equipment; and may very likely be accompanied by cheesy sound effects wherever they go (depending on just how "tongue-in-cheek" we want to get.)
Weaknesses: Can be duped and/or captured with relative ease under the right circumstances, and possess a certain silly sense of "obligation" towards their fellow man that could readily be exploited.
Other Things of Note: Make any quips about them being "gay" and you've more or less given your character a death sentence. Just to warn you.
Appearance: See images below.

"Golly, Batman; we're now part of a role playing game!"
"Precisely, Robin. Although I have the distinct feeling we may not be the main focus here."
Character Name: Commissioner James Gordon, GPD
Status: NPC controlled by r_s_boston
Abilities/Powers/Weapons/Etc.: Carries a badge (and a gun to go with it) and has certain law enforcement powers. Can also summon Batman and Robin by deploying the Bat-signal.
Appearance: See images below.

Other good guys to be added as needed.
Starting Out:
I shall make the first role playing post and we'll let things proceed from there. Tally-ho!!
