"Now D.W. pay attention," Tay said in her calm, almost flat tone. "This is the Meadow of Battle. It's said that there was once a huge population of wild temeos known as the Okaruko pack. But here is where they split forming two separate packs: the Oka and the Kuro."

The kit listened fascinated, his big jade eyes opened wide, as his elder "sister" explained the meaning behind the name of this place. He had thought the name was because of the feeling that permeated this area but from Tay's story, he guessed it was the land replaying what had happened here.
"Why did they split?" he asked curiously in his piping voice, the tiny angel wings on his back flicking.

"You know, I'm not sure. Maybe Miss Nuiks might know," she replied thoughtfully, cocking her head to the side and idly tapping at the metal half-mask on her face.
"But it's been so long, maybe no one remembers why."

Standing in the middle of the Shammy doesn't notice the pair right away. Instead she sits there in an almost meditative state. Breathing slowly, she lets the air fill her lungs slowly. Breathing in and out, it seemed like she was almost reliving the battle herself, though she was much too young.

Finally she noticed the two other wilds in the Meadow. Growling from pure instinct, she stares at the two. "Leave..." she says in her most menacing tone, not planning on attacking, but not liking that two Tems could have snuck up on her.

Slightly taken aback by the unfamiliar female's attitude, Tay raised her single visible eyebrow.
"Excuse me, but I don't think I will. You see, D.W. here is getting his lessons. He will join the Oka pack one day, alongside me and his other older siblings," she explained gently, sitting back on her haunches and staring cooly at the rude wild.
"Our numbers are few so the future of the Oka depends on young ones like D.W." she added, resting a forepaw on the youth's head and lightly ruffling his forelock.

Looking like he'd just been awarded a big gaudy trophy, D.W. beamed, basking in his older sibling's attention.
"May we continue the lesson? I wanna learn more!"

"Yes, of course," Tay replied easily, continuing to cast an expressionless look at Shammy.
"By your leave, Miss?" she added in a formal, yet subtly mocking tone.

Feeling ashamed, and fairly riled at the slight in Tay's voice, Shammy just nods. Turning slowly, she goes towards the forest. As her flank shows to the strange tem and the young kit, they can see the TemAid that Think gave her before she left his shack.

"Just as long as you teach the kit one thing... That fidelity and open mindedness do not mix well in a pack," she says cryptically and starts walking away a little faster.

Tay's single eye widened slightly when it fell upon the interesting pack strapped to the unknown wild's side. Judging by the red cross on the front, it was some sort of first-aid kit. Intrigued, Tay trotted after Shammy, signaling for D.W. to follow.
"Pardon me, but what's that you have there? And where might I obtain one for myself?" she asked, completely disregarding what Shammy had said. Fidelity and open mindedness were two key building blocks in the Oka pack.

D.W. followed at a polite distance and stopped short of Tay, taking up a seat behind her, slightly off to the left. Tay had been teaching him pack etiquette as well and, despite his curiosity about the strange female wild, he diligently followed the rules.
He hoped to impress the pack leader when he finally got the chance to meet her.

"It's a gift from a friend," is all she replies. Trying to keep ingrained hatred from overcoming her, she just walks away a little more. A gentle breeze comes from the direction of the direction of the two temeos and Shammy catches a slight scent from them. Feeling shocked, she stops.

"That smells like... Could this impudent female be....." She stammers to herself. The smell, while not too familiar, was locked into her memories of the first day she woke up at Think's house. "That lady friend of Think's... but how?" She asked herself. Having not been exposed to wilds being bred in captivity, she didn't know that there were ones that were "pets".

"Oh, I see. Terribly sorry to have pried," Tay apologized politely then dipped her head toward the strange female before turning and moving back to her pupil. When she looked at the young male's face, she smiled, noticing his curiosity in Shammy.
"Do you have something to ask, D.W.?"

"Huh? Oh, I just wanted to ask her" he said, jerking his head toward Shammy, "Why she stopped alluva sudden and started looking at us funny.. That's all," he finished, shrugging.

"Do you know a human named Think?" Shammy asks, quietly, feeling slightly ashamed of herself. She takes a seat, facing the strangers, cocking her head to one side. Why she stopped so suddenly, she didn't know. The smell obviously struck some chord in her. Maybe it was the way Think interacted with the cat girl...

Both Wilds blinked in recognition at the name but it was D.W. who answered first.

"Sure do. He's mum's mate," he said matter-of-factly, nodding to affirm his statement.
"But what's that gotta do with stoppin' an' givin' us funny looks?" D.W. asked, his brow crinkling with confusion.

"D.W. remember your manners," Tay chided gently, hiding her own curiosity on the subject. Really, the kit had a point. What did that have to do with anything?

"Oh, nothing," she said wistfully. Her eyes seemed distant as she thought of him. She couldn't help but smile as she thought of the first day after he rescued her and the calamity and raucous he made around the catgirl while trying to "be cool". "I was just wondering how he was..." she stated as she turned to walk away again, still unsure about these two...

Tay raised an eyebrow at that. How did this truly Wild temeo know Sir Think?
"I imagine he's fine," she said after Shammy, her single eye following the retreating figure. "You might come home with us and visit. He's usually there."

"Yeah!" D.W. chimed in. "He likes mum, lots. He's always doin' somethin' they call 'kissin''," he said matter-of-factly, bobbing his head.

With a sudden attack of pride Shammy rose to her full height. "No, I couldn't impose on him like that. It would be wrong," she said, hoping that her eyes didn't betray her desire to go see the strange wolf man.

The franken-tem rolled her eye. She'd seen pride often enough and saw right through the facade. Still, she knew she wouldn't get anywhere with force. D.W. however was not so inclined.

"It wouldn' be wrong, dummy. If ya know Think an' ya wanna see 'im, just go see 'im. He's a cool guy; he'd prolly be happy to see ya," the kit stated confidently, his brow crinkled with irritation. Who was this crazy female?

'Ah, D.W., ya little scamp,' Tay thought with motherly affection. On the outside though, she adopted a stern look and lightly cuffed the young one with her paw.
"D.W.! How rude. You are not to speak to your elders that way nor are you to chide Miss Shammy in such a fashion." She paused there and gave the kit a quick wink, smiling slightly at his nod of understanding. He caught on fast. Then, in one smooth movement, she rested her single eye on Shammy and bowed.
"I apologize on my ward's account and wish you well. I believe you are quite right. It would be wrong to go visit Think, given how you are a natural born Wild. Come D.W.,' she said with an edge then turned and walked away, trusting the kit to follow.
Hopefully the strange female would take the bait.

Shammy glared at the kit, then winced at the adult's words. What was the difference between being born in the wild and not? Manners should be universal.

Just then the winds changed, and Shammy looked around, feeling fearful. "Take care when wandering these grounds. I fear the Koru are hunting nearby..." She called to the strange wild, while trying to make sense of it all.

Well, apparently Shammy was as dense as a brick when it came to taking hints. Especially if she chose to stay behind with the Koru so near. Huffing a sigh, Tay stopped, holding out a paw to catch D.W. before he trotted away without her and got into trouble. Turning, she eyed the female wild.
"Since there's danger about, you should come with us. I'm sure Think would appreciate a visit. I think that small amount of gratitude is owed him for taking you in..." Since hints wouldn't work, maybe blackmail and guilt would.

D.W. sat looking on, all solemness and big eyes. Taking his cue from Tay, he stepped toward Shammy.
"Yeah. You should come wif us. Show Think some gratude."
