So there's an art fair that happens annually round here in a park that's right down the street from me. It is an evil, evil thing for numerous reasons. Such as...
1) This is a local park and it's not a local fair. We ship in a bunch of elitist snobs from Californication to sell their crap, rusty looking, modern "sculptures".
2) The field is trampled and looks like a MESS from everyone walking on it and the porta potties for at least a month after.
3) They shut off parking on the surrounding streets making it impossible for residents to park their cars. The "do not park" signs weren't put up last year till the day off the event and as I was at my boyfriend's that weekend my car got ticketed. (Never mind that a visit to the police station and an explanation of my AFKness cleared this ticket up. It ought not to ever have happened.)
This evil thing is happening this weekend. Well, it was planned for this weekend and all today the artisimos were scrambling about like roaches to get under the fridge to set up their tents and wares.
So what does it start doing between 1 and 2 pm? Storming. Glorious, news making storming. Storm funnels, tornado warnings, thunder storm warnings, flash flood warnings, sheets of rain, pouring pouring got to keep on tumbling down RAIN. And at 4 it's still going. And we're to expect more rain tomorrow.
So it's raining on their little art fair. And lightning. And thundering.
Take THAT you pretentious assholes!
