Balamb is a small port near Balamb Garden. Only about 2 miles away, the town is located on the coast. As you head in through the front gates of the town, you will find a car rental booth. Here you can rent a car, although if you’re fit, you won’t need one! Along the left side as you move further in are houses and apartments. The buildings are made of what looks like sapphire-colored brick or stone with yellow and gold colored framing and design. To the right is an upgrade shop for your weapons. Even further right is the train station which leads to Timber. Further down from the residential area is the Inn. It’s two stories high, and has a number of balconies from which you can watch the ocean. Down from the Inn is the small harbor, with Two docks, a parking lot and a large unloading bay. The fishing isn’t too bad, but don’t expect to break any records any time soon fishing off the docks!

Making it to Balamb her hair wasnt in a ponytail no more and her top was shredded. She had some minor cuts and her upper arm was scrapped up from when she hit the pavment on the road. Heading to a near by store first she looked about for cloths. Surpized they where open she picked out a nice dark orange jacket, made by the same company that made SeeD's uniforms. Purchesing it slipped it on and zipped it up. Buying a few medical items and a small napsack she tired it to her belt and walked out. Looking about to See what else was open the went to the upgrade shop. Looking at the lists none of which she has the supplies or tools to make. Thanking the man for letting her look about she left there as well and went to the inn.

Stepping up to the Foremen She smiled at the Woman and then fished in her bag for money. “I’d like to get a room for the night please?” She said somewhat politely. The Foreman smiled and rung her up and got a bed tag. “100Gil upfront please” The Foreman said sliding Otacon the tag. Paying her Otacon took the Tag and headed up the stairs to the large room on the second floor lined with beds. “No separate rooms, wow” Sighing she laid down on the bed and looked towards the balcony noticing a man playing cards by himself.

Watching the man play a smile began to make its way across her lips. Inching slowly over towards him she leaned down and smiled “care to play a game?” Otacon asked, a happy upbeat tone to her voice. The man looked up and smiled. “Sure, playing my self isn’t that challenging. How long you been playing there little lady you have quite the large deck there.” He said chuckling. Picking through she looked up, “Since I was a little girl. My uncle thought me how to play, and my names Otacon, you can call me Ota or Taco.” She replied laughing about the last nick name she received over the years. The man smiled “Righty’o Taco” he said laughing a bit as well. “I’ll go first” Otacon said as she laid a SAM08G card down on the bottom left slot. A number 5 at the top and a 6 to the right on the card. Scratching his chin he smiled “mighty nice card ya got there.” The man played a Mesmerize next to it in the bottom center slot. Otacons card having the high Point there beat his card. Laying a Belhelmel in the bottom right slot, the man placed a anacondoaur just above hers tieing in stats there, the cards didn’t gain points.

They continued on through out the night playing game after game. Winning just about as many as they did losing then cut there loss’s and went to bed. Waking up to seagulls and other annoying bird calls she sat up in the bed. Since she didn’t change her cloths she was ready to leave. Saying bye to the man she played cards with he just kind of grunted in his sleep. He didn’t hear her over his snoring. Jumping down the stairs instead of walking she landed rather hard and almost fell over. Scratching her head she smiled and returned the bed tag. Then scampered out the door towards the Garden…again.

Irvine happily handed over a steel pipe, and two screws. He hand found the steel pipe and screws near a T-Rexaur once at the training center. He figured they were dropped by a student as he was being eaten by the T-Rex. He also handed over Valiant.

"You don't have a bomb fragment. I can't upgrade it if you don't have a bomb fragment."
"Damn..."

He took back the screws, pipe, and Valiant. Irvine, dissapointed, headed back to the Garden.

-Rinoa hops impatiently on her left foot at the shop counter, her upgrade money jingling in her hand. She shoots a frantic glance at the clock on the wall and leans over the counter, calling to the back room in the sweetest voice she can muster.-

Sir, I'm really, REALLY sorry to bug you! But I'm late and I'm in a hurry. Is my shooty boomboom finished yet?

-The old man on duty chuckles as he shuffles out from the back room. He cradles a shiny, new-looking Valkyrie model boomerang in his weathered hands. He gives Rinoa a stern look as he gently hands it to her, like a father giving away a favorite daughter to an antsy young groom. "You take good care of this baby now, okay?" Rinoa flashes him her most winning smile as she presses her gil into his hand and cradles the Valkyrie, saluting him and bounding out of the shop and up the street. The old man chuckles and shakes his head. "Youngsters these days... nobody knows how to relax anymore." He keeps a short vigil over her form until it disappears from the town gates, and shuffles back to his workroom.-

((Shooty boomboom? stare ))

Swords sheathed on his back, with his spear parallel to his spine, Tyr stepped off the train. He only carried one bag with him, which contained what was left of his clothing. He had gotten rid of anything that was meant for warmth, as he doubted he would need it here.

He did not know his way around town, but fortunatly, it wasn't very big. He could see the direction of the sea from where he was and Balamb Garden wasn't in that direction.

Stepping out of the train station, he spotted the upgrade shop. He wandered over, setting his bag down. He reached inside and pulled out a betrayal sword, two lead pipes, and some screws.

Would you like an upgrade? The man said.

Nodding, he handed over the items. Then he unsheathed his blades and handed them to the man.

Good, good. It's all here. It'll be done shortly.

Tyr nodded again, then sat on the empty bench nearby.

Finished your swords! The old man called out. Tyr stood, leaving his bag behind as he went to claim his weapons. When he layed eyes on them, he showed no emotion, but he was impressed.

He took his new blades and inspected them. They were a deep red shade and radiated a small amount of heat; The Flameberge. He could feel the power hidden within them. His new ability would certainly scorch his enemies.

He thanked the man graciuosly, and handed over some gold. He was pressed for gold, but he didn't mind paying for weapons. He just hoped his pay as a SeeD would help him out.

Tyr sheathed the blades, feeling the heat through the sheathes. He grabbed his bag once more and headed for the exit. As the sun set in the western sky, Tyr realized that it would not be long before his dream came true.

Raven was arguing with some old fisherman who was willing to let someone rent his boat for a reasonable amount of time and gil.

"Just one week, old man! C'mon!"
"I don't trust people like you. No."

Raven almost drew his pistol and gunned the man down. But instead, he continued arguing/bribing/pleading.

"Howabout 40,000 gold?"

The old man considered...

"Alright, alright. But if there's even a scratch on my boat, then I'll ******** keel you."

Raven knew the old man didn't mean what he just said. If the old man was telling the truth, then he would've shot him 20 times right there. Even though many people were watching. Raven took a bag of gil from his belt and handed it to the old man. It contained exactly 40,000 gil.

Raven then glanced over at the boat.

"A ******** ROW BOAT?!" He thought.

Raven twitched as he got into the boat and started paddling like crazy. It would've been easier if he just summoned Cobalt...

After a time, the train pulls into the station..He exits it, and leaves the platform, looking around to get his bearings....Doesn't seem like a bad place..A small fishing village-come-campus town..Quiet, it seemed. That was just fine with him..He walked around until he found an information kiosk, and purhced a map of the area..He mentally noted where the inn and other amenities where, before leaving the town, walking along the side of the road, headed towards Balamb Garden..

Dante yawned as he walked into the streets of Balamb Town... He looked at the hotel, then counted his gil for a moment and shook his head... "Looks like I am walking it all the way...."
After looking ahead at the long walk, Dante, removed two traveling rations from his pack, and ate a little... sighing with a bit of relief, he stood back up dusting off, and continued his way on the road to Balamb Garden hoping entry wasn't too late at night.

Raven tapped the old man who sold him the boat on the shoulder. The man turned around. He recognized Raven's face.

"Where's mah boat?"
"On the bottom of the ocean."

Before the old man could reply, Raven grabbed him by the shoulders and kneed him in the gut just hard enough to hurt. He pushed the old man down and spit in his face.

Not waiting for anyone to hit or scold him, Raven walked out of Balamb. He just wanted some rest, and maybe a therapist.

In the depths of the night, the Mad Fragger was busily at work. He was sneaking around all the major access points of the town, laying down the groundwork of what would be a vast network of explosive surprises for the Galbadian army when they attempt to take the town back from the SeeDs currently digging themselves in throughout the city.

He stood up cautiously from where he'd laid the second of the two claymore mines right by the main gateway into the city. There was no tripwire at the moment; he'd place that once all the SeeDs were hunkered down in their positions.

Risking a moment's illumination with the glowrod strapped to his right arm, he looks out the archway to make sure that the anti-personnel mines that he'd laid out are in place are still out there. The tiny, randomly-placed dirt mounds are hard enough to see under normal light; the only reason he can find them under a glowrod is because he placed and marked them on a map of the town.

Snickering at the mass destruction that will be caused on his behalf, he switches off the glowrod and sneaks further into the town, sticking to shadows and back alleys whenever possible.
