Once the pinnacle of the J'Solek Arantid Empire, L'enlor Imaral now lays in ruins. Abandoned for thousands of years, it's buildings have crumbled from disrepair and weathering. The Drelaxian Empire now lays claim to this city, and has armies digging to find remains of artifacts, to better understand the J'Solek technologies. A few earlier finds in this city contributed to the creating of flying ships that work solely on the light of the sun, and lenses that can amplify a light beam so much that it cuts through metal.

Currently, only small parties of humans roam through these ruins, these are mostly treasure hunters and scavengers, but the occasional armed patrol does make it's way through.

Lassan arrived at the fringes of the city, and dismounted. The others would arrive shortly, and he would need to be long gone by then. Demons would most likely attack, and he was not a fighter, he was an assassin.

He took his horses' reins, and made his way further into the city, hiding all traces of his passage.

Raven and her new Nightmare mount plodded up to the ruins with all the subtlety of a thunderstorm. The horse was not one for secrets, but then again who needed to be secret when you had near an army marching behind you? She didn't see Lassan right off the bat, and she took a quick look around. Amnity was right behind her as they marched to the city and Raven wondered the best way to find Lassan. As if responding to the thought her mount reared up and beat it's wings, as if eager to get off the ground... Oh, right... Flying would spot him easy.

"I-I'll be right back... Um... Up?"

Raven mumbled first to Amnity and next into the Nightmare's mane. The horse snorted as if that was a stupid command, but he understood well enough to break out into a gallop, pumping his wings powerfully enough to get him off the ground. Raven gasped as she took off, the horse seemed to whinny darkly with satisfaction. Huffing and puffing she flew over the city, looking for Lassan... or whatever else seemed interesting.

Lassan led his horse from ruined building to ruined building, keeping them both out of sight of both air and land. He made sure to keep his tracks hidden from all, he had no wish to become embroiled in the coming conflict.

He tied his horse in a more or less safe and secure basement, and began to climb a ruined tower.

He made it to the top within a few dozen minutes, and started scanning the horizon. He saw the human armies arriving, "Just in time" he muttered to himself as he began to notice movement from the opposite horizon. They were mostly Ecantando, with a few Emim mixed in. The human army was in for a fight, but Lassan was not there for that. He was there to find the leader, and Alal.

Waiting for the fighting to commence, he continued to scan the demon army, all 2000 of them.

Not nearly as well hidden as Lassan, Medb wandered through the lifeless city and happened to notice that armies were accumulating to fight one another. She sighed as she observed how many would likely die today for a cause that was neverending. Why was death such a drug? Such an addiction, fascination, obsession, way of life? The last one being ironic since in death there was no life and yet people and demons in this day and age lived only to die one way or another. Funny how the world worked, very funny, indeed and this caused her to giggle to herself as she waltzed through the empty buildings and streets.

This was actually a routine for her, to explore the desserted camps and cities that littered this wasteland of portals. Exploring was something that was fun and it helped her to learn as well, not to mention there were other portals out there just waiting to be discovered. Whether or not the inhabitants of the other portals were friendly ones or not would not be determined until they were discovered. However, for hope's sake, hope being a fairly foolish and childish thing, she hoped that they would be kind and not as violent and blood thirsty as these humans were.

She smiled, thinking to herself as she aloofly strolled through the soon-to-be battle ground, seemingly having no respect or care for the coming battle that was to take place around this baren city. 'A battle will be fought today, fought today. But nay shall they ever truly find their way for on the bloodied earthen ground their bodies ere lay.' Rhyming wasn't exactly a daily occurrence in her life, however, rhymes were fun and pretty so she decided to use them every once in a while. And for good measure, she decided to repeat her verse aloud. "A battle will be fought today, fought today. But nay shall they ever truly find their way for on the bloodied, earthen, ground their bodies ere lay."

Childishly, she began to skip along as she continued to hum her newly birthed rhythm to herself, occasionally singing the words to it. Her voice was far superior to any bird's, it could be compared to that of an angel's, however, angels were few and scarce in this point in time. Perhaps they'd discovered a portal of their own where there was peace and they were able to hide from everyone else. Oh how peaceful it would be without such conflicts as these ...

However, she was not in a fantasy land where there were angels and no wars or battles so she was soon brought back to reality when she bumped into Lassan's horse, frightening the large beast with her sudden movements. Likewise, the horse scared Medb and she was quick to jump back and bear her fangs along with her wings should she require them as weapons or means of escape. After all, she wasn't looking to quarrel with anyone, she'd merely been sight-seeing and exploring this ruin of a city and now she'd probably landed herself a fight with an aggressive human who would refuse to let her pass.

Lucian marched in perfect time with the rest of the army, turning to march backwards and observe the troops. Some were starting to get nervous, he smiled reassuringly at them, and winked at Watkins; a smile flitting across his face like a slight breeze on a summer meadow. He mouthed 'Are you okay?' and Watkins smiled in response; nodding. Lucian turned around again, Watkins was his favourite Soldier, the one that he had mentored personally; he knew he was in for sadness, lots of people died in Battles, you couldn't help that... but god damn it he'd try. He saw the Army looming, and gulped slightly, as the armies approached each other, he did the one thing he hadn't done for a while. He Prayed. Dear God in Heaven, please protect my soul and my soldiers in this dark hour, and let any Soldiers who die be welcome into your arms, regardless of race. He made a cross symbol, and eyed the opposing army, a smile curling his lips. "Round, round , Circumventing circuses lamenting in protest to visible police prescence sponsored fear batallions of riot police with rubber bullet kisses baton courtesy service with a smile" He murmured, the Army growing larger every second.

Lassan continued to survery the opposing army, he had not yet found the Emim leading it, and was getting impatient. "Show yourself you b*****d. I can't wait here all day.

His attentiont was distracted for a moment when he heard the whinny of his horse, and looked towards it for a moment, noticing a demon. Oh bloody hell, and when i'm looking for a goddamn leader. I hate it when this happens, either I kill this demon, or I kill the leader of that army, i'll just keep looking for the leader.

He flattened himself against the ruined tower further, and returned his attention to surveying the enemy army.

Veroen silently entered L'enlor Imaral from the portal of Abrasax. He stopped, opening his eyes as he surveyed the area. He chose to come alone, for that was the way he was. His body had began to leak darkness, giving him the appearance of a comet in a way, shadow flowing from behind him as he walked. it was not a lot of shadow, but just enough to be seen. He silently continued to walk along the top of a hill, then he noticed two armies in the distance, about 300 yards away from his position. He stopped for a moment, to observe the situation out there, for he had known this battle to come for quite some time. He was a Demon Lord, and nothing escaped his knowledge.

He continued to stare out there for a moment. He sighed, for now his power was somewhat greater in this plane than in Abrasax. It was like much weight had been taken off of him, and his power had suddenly grown. It was almost impossible to explain the feeling. All that could come to mind was the word, 'intoxicating'. He silently continued down his path, not making any sound as he walked gracefully toward some ruins, his cold black angel wings folded behind him, which emitted shadow as well.

He stopped for a moment, now sensing the presence of others around him. He began to walk again, yet slower now. He then came into the area where Medb and Lassan were. He instantly recognized Medb, a fellow Demon Lord. He slightly wondered what her purpose was in being out here. Then again, he really had no purpose in his presence in this plane either. He silently looked at her, as she had somehow been startled by a horse. He silently scanned the area around him, thinking that the horse was probably not Medb's. He wondered who the second person was he silently walked closer to Medb's position, being cautious as he did so, knowing that there was possibly another who was either hidden, or somewhere close.

He stopped about 6 feet behind Medb, not bothering to be subtle anymore. His footsteps could have been easily heard a few seconds ago, so he knew she would be alerted to his presence.

He silently stared at her, without saying a word, waiting for her to acknowledge the fact that she was not the only Demon Lord in the area.

Medb could be quite oblivious at times and the fact that she hadn't been expecting horse, let alone a human assassin to be in her way had definitely startled her on top of her obliviousness. However, since the human seemed to have no interest in her, she'd decided to venture away from him just in case he changed his mind and decided to come charging after her or however he attacked people. Either way, she didn't really want to take her chances since she wasn't really wanting to get into a huge fight when an army of over one thousand each would be coming at their backs. It just wasn't practical.

As for Veroen, well, he hadn't been attempting to sneak up behind her so she easily picked up that there were foot steps behind her. At first she thought it was the assassin coming up behind her with clumsy footing but it seemed that it was not so for when she abruptly turned to face him, she saw not the face of the assassin but of Veroen, a fellow demon lord. A smile came to her lips, causing her mouth to curve. She was not intimidating in appearance at all, actually, the opposite, she appeared rather cute.

"Hey Veroen!" She exclaimed rather loudly and waved to him, though he'd obviously seen her already. She was merely being friendly, as she normally was and she was in a rather bright mood at the moment and a childish one as well. She knew that he didn't like to talk that much and that he didn't like company but she decided to address him anyhow. "Medb hasn't seen you in a long time. Where have you been hiding? Medb knows you don't like people but sheesh, sometimes it's nice not to be all alone. It gets kind of scary sometimes."

Lassan heard the approach of another being, and judging by it's footsteps, it was not hostile towards the other demon, leaving one possibility, Great, another bloody demon. Like I didn't have enough on my hands as it is.

He looked down on the ground, it was a strain to make out details, they were almost 300 feet lower than he, but he could notice that they were both demons, and one had wings, leaving a demon lord. He looked to his horse, and saw it was out of the blast radius, well, the upcoming one anyway, it would get pelted by some rocks, but not enough to harm it.

He withdrew a vial from underneath his cloak, and leaned over the edge to drop it, when he noticed a faint shape from the corner of his eye. "Not now" he groaned softly, barely audible to his own ears. "Bloody Emim, appearing right when I don't want you to."

He looked back to the demon lords, and once again at the Emim, and sighed. I guess I can do both, maybe they'll be injured enough to stop them from running away until I can get them.

He unstrung a rope from around his waist, one he had carried with his for this very occasion, and found a solid anchor point.

He tied the rope to his belt, and winced at what would surely hurt. He took one last look at the demon lords, and flung the vial towards them. The explosive vial would hit the ground between them and shatter, sending out an explosion of 20 feet in diameter, and a shockwave twice that distance.

As soon as the vial was in the air, he ran off the edge of the tower and lept into the air, rope growing taut behind him. He had made sure to angle his leap so he would not just slam at the end of the rope, but swing like a pendulum, hopefully reducing the amount of pain involved.

The rope tightened behind him and he began the swing downwards, fast realizing the flaw in his plan, the tower was directly in his swing, and fast approaching.

Cursing his stupidity, he unhooked his belt full of explosive vials and threw them towards the fast approaching tower. The belt slammed against the tower, a mere 40 feet ahead of the very, very quickly approaching Lassan, and detonated, a massive explosing sounding through the night. Lassan cursed as the heat scorched him, and then the shockwave slammed into him, sending him in the opposite direction, at almost the same speed he went towards the tower.

Struggling to stay conscious, he slipped a dagger out of it's sheath and cut the supporting rope, making him fall the last 10 feet towards the ground in an uncontrolled roll.

When Lassan finally stopped, with the help of a ruined wall, he noticed something peculiar, there was no more tower, only a very large spearlike object hurtling towards him.

Cursing many, many times, he scrambled to his feet and ran with all his speed as the tower plummeted towards him.

He felt the breeze of the large stone building push him faster forwards, and made a final leap just as the tower crashed down behind him, a final leap directly into a stone wall.

Lassan turned around as he bounced off the wall, and the last thing he remembered was seeing his horse still standing.

Medb really hadn't been expecting the whole spectacle of the human going absolutely berserk and unleashing something that happened to detonate on them but she had seen him throw something out of the corner of her eye. She didn't like that he was preparing a rope and everything behind their backs and she instantly became wary and her suspicions were correctly so for he then threw a vial at them. Medb, needless to say, didn't stick around to see what the effects of the vial would happen to be and she warned Veroen with a shrill and excited voice before darting out of the place.

Of course, she hadn't been able to escape the shockwave so she was sent tumbling head over heels but she'd managed to survive the entire thing. She wasn't so sure about Veroen and she was even less sure that the dummie assassin had made it out alive, seeing as he had likely sustained a lot of damage from his stupid stunt and he was no where to be seen at the moment. Perhaps he'd gotten crushed by the tower he'd blown up? Meh, it'd serve him right, that was for sure. After all, he had almost squished her under that tower since she'd ran to seek refuge near it from the explosion only to have it begin to topple over. However, she'd managed to roll away from it just in time so that she wasn't squished to death.

She began to whine, seeing that Veroen had managed to survive the blast. "Why did that dummie human try to blow us up? Doesn't he know that it isn't nice to blow people up? Jeez, he didn't even escape properly and now he's either dead or he's not on his horse so he's somewhere on the ground. Stupid, stupid, stupid. That hurt! You're a meanie!" She was shouting to an unconscious person but she really didn't care and didn't know for sure whether he was unconscious or not seeing as though he'd blown up the tower so she'd lost sight of him while having to roll out of the way of the falling tower.

Medb finally decided to rise from her position on the ground that allowed her to stare up into the sky. She decided that she was going to search for that stupid human and scold him for his stupidity if he had survived his own assault. And she decided that the best place to start looking for him was near his horse and surely enough, there he was lying before her, unconscious and unsuspecting of anything that could possibly be happening to him right now all because of his stupidity.

Medb knelt down beside the human and took a hold of him, beginning to shake him to wake him up. "WAKE UP!!" she shouted directly into his ear, almost sounding as though she were a banshee, her voice was so loud and shrill. "WAKE UP STUPID HUMAN! I'M GOING TO EAT YOU IF YOU DON'T WAKE UP SO YOU BETTER DO WHAT MEDB SAYS AND WAKE UP BEFORE YOU GET EATEN!" She continued to shake him violently enough to give him whiplash and shout in his ear.

Once Raven was airborne she could see the approaching army, her Nightmare saw them too and rose several feet in the air to get clear of any long range weapons. Raven herself huddled close to her mount's neck, grateful that she had managed to summon one that had some brains to speak of as the two of them flew over the soon to be battlefield looking for any sign of Lassan.

A stirring of magic energies alerted her to a really high level demon that was ahead of the massive army marching towards the ruins. It was much too powerful to be a scout or something, so she turned her mount to investigate. And before she even made it to where she felt the demon, a second similar stirring of energies told her another was in the immediate aria as well. It felt like the two where near one another so Raven didn't alter her airborne course. As she flew over where the power's point of origin she took note of one demon, and after a moments searching she spotted a second with shadows gathered about him in a fashion that reminded Raven of the way she hid from people.

Things after that happened really quickly.

Someone, she assumed Lassan, threw some sort of explosive. The nightmare she was flying with saw it and made a sharp turn in the air that nearly made Raven sick as he made good his escape from the blast. After the initial explosion, a second reported shortly to her left. She took note of Lassan on the side of the tower that just announced another explosion. What the hell was he thinking? Did he want to smash himself?

Raven didn't find out, her nightmare gave another aerial turn that did make her sick as it escaped from the falling tower. Once clear of the wreckage she forced her nightmare to the ground by kicking her heels roughly to her mount's side, and she was off her mount as soon as they hit the ground, relieving herself of the flight sickness all over the ground. When she felt a little better, Raven quickly became alert to a banshee's scream demanding that someone wake up. She grabbed her Nightmare's mane and directed him to the origin of the voice.

She found Lassan being screamed at by what at first glance seemed to be a little girl. Raven however felt the humm of power around her, that announced like a foghorn that this person had some form of magical awareness... A demon. In a frightened panic She pointed at the girl shaking Lassan.

"CHARGE!!!"

In response, her nightmare mount galloped thunderously towards the girl, and with a deep huff he leaped into the air, without expanding it's wings. The Nightmare's obvious intent was to use his mammoth sized hooves to smash whoever it was like a pancake upon his landing. Raven herself hurried over to Lassan's unconscious body, as soon as she could to make sure the other power she felt earlier didn't have any plans for Lassan's, hopefully still living, body.

Lassan woke up the moment the demon grabbed him, and just as she started yelling, he punched his hand outwards towards her stomach, but his hand was not empty, it had a knife in it, the dagger he had used to cut the rope was still in his hand, somehow.

It seemed fate was on his side today, because he was still alive, and none of his various vials of acid had broken, or so he thought until he began to smell sulphur. He looked down to notice that his explosive powders were laying on the ground, with something dripping on them from his cloak.

He looked at the cloak and recognized the smell, and ran.

He didn't even take the demon's hands off of him, he just ran, dragging her behind him. It was a struggle to be sure, but he managed, somehow he managed.

He made it not 10 steps when the pile erupted into smoke, and then died. He scratched his head and made to walk closer, completely ignoring the demon that got dragged along, noticing a strange black horse galloping rapidly towards him. He was about to decide what to do, but before he would check on the explosive powder.

"Strange, that should have been lou-". Lassan was cut off before the last word finished, when the air erupted into a ball of flame, and he went flying into his horse, foot tangling in the saddle. A slight nagging voice in the back of his head reminded him, delayed powder. A powder that has a delayed explosion.

The horse, spooked beyond all reason, took off at this new weight, heading in the direction of the Emim and the charging horse, dragging a semi-conscious and very bouncy Lassan behind her.

Lassan, flailing wildly and attempting to climb back on to his horse, noticed hooves, barely 20 feet away from him, and approaching rapidly.

The Armies clashed, and Lucian was already in the air. He jumped to the front of the army, spinning, five explosive vials rocketed from his hands and incinerated a couple of demons on the front line. He grinned, and put his hands together as he approached the ground, the spark triggered the Fire pillar and sent him rocketing back upwards. With a glint of metal he threw several make-shift grenades down at the demons, sending shards of metal rocketing towards the various demons, stabbing many and burning some others.

He landed in the middle of a small group and put his wrists together, the pillar of fire being activated right on time. He quickly twisted, scorching several of the demons. This was just the front lines so far, there were thousands more demons behind it, he was just here to clear the way for a few of the more straight-forward and intelligent soldiers. He sent forth one more pillar of fire and then quickly jumped back into the Human army, quickly mixing a variety of different explosive liquids as he ran forward, launching them into the Demonic army.

Watkins watched as Lucian unleashed his explosives and special brand of chaos upon the unfortunate demons at the front and sickly felt a smile curl his lips, he hadn't seen Lucian this charged before, watching him in a battle was one of the greatest spectacles an aspiring young soldier could experience. He was slightly disappointed that only a few demons made it to them due to Amnity's great amount of Soldiers in front of them. An Emim of Fifty feet landed next to him and roared bloody fury at him, he grinned, and withdrew his butterfly knife.

It launched its hand towards him, he swiftly dodged with a small sweep and ran up the arm, his dagger embedded into the skin, managing to at least tear through when he applied the full force of his body weight. He reached the shoulder and leapt onto its head, withdrawing his Spear from his back he jabbed it deep into the Emim's skull, he then spun the Spear and jabbed it through the things neck, laughing as he did so. The thing fell, and he leapt off with a look of pride and accomplishment on his face.

The cold snow storm of the Mountains roared on as a very young Lucian cried out for help, none came. It tried to crawl towards the nearest source of light with little avail, with great labour he managed to roll over, now his back was cold. He cried out once more, his young mind not able to process the imminent death of its body, it was simply crying for attention and food. Then the friendly giant ran through the Mountain trail, a funny red liquid pouring down its back. Lucian did not know it, and didn't realize it, but this was an Emim. It had managed to break through the Portal and had managed to avoid death as it fled into the Mountains, what it hadn't managed was realizing it didn't have long before it was discovered and killed. It heard a faint crying in a Snow drift, and picked up yougn Lucian. It cooed slightly, and held the baby against it, its warm skin keeping the Baby from death. It had saved Lucian that day, and was killed by the Regiment who later 'found' Lucian, no one ever told him that it was a demon who saved him that day, and now he was killing them by the dozen.
