Much like the subject title suggests, this is a photo scavenger contest! The objective of this contest will be to search the web/take your own pictures of the various subject matter provided in the subject matter list (list of subject matter posted later in same thread). Each picture will have a given point value...so the more of the list you complete, the more points you'll receive. Needless to say, the person with the most points wins.

EVERYONE is eligible for this contest as it is based on points and not personal judgment.

There is a 1,000 gold entry fee for this contest. Please send a trade to the guild mule (Moon Secret Gardens) entitled Photo Scavenger Contest.

Each contestant will submit their photos in THIS thread. Simply make a new post and put your photos there. ALL YOUR SUBMISSIONS MUST BE IN THE SAME POST! I can't stress this enough. It'll make it MUCH easier to keep track of your photos. ONLY the photos in your FIRST POST will be tallied.

This Contest will begin as of today 6/5/08 and will end two months from today on 8/5/08 at 12pm PST

Multipliers

Finding pictures which use multiple subjects from the list. For every subject from the list you find/use in a picture you will receive an additional 25% (example- you upload a picture containing two subjects from the list and both are worth 500 points. You get 1000 points for the subject matter and an additional 25% for each subject used. In this case you used two, so you'd receive an extra 50% or 500 points

Duplicated images will receive fewer points This means that for every time multiple contestants use the same picture, that picture will suffer a 25% point reduction. (example- two contestants upload the same picture, normally worth 1000 points. This picture has now been reused exactly once, so it will lose 25% of its value and will be worth 750 points instead)


Things to Keep in Mind

-Once you've completed an item on the list, it cannot be repeated for more points.
-The point suffering for duplicated images does NOT mean duplicated subject matter(e.g. a picture of a penguin)
-You are more than welcome to change your submissions at any time DURING the contest. Any image swapping afterwards will result in a 10% penalty of your final score.
-Photoshopping images yourself to include multiple subject matter will be considered cheating and will result in a 25% reduction of your final score. If submitting an image you suspect has been previously photoshopped, you may provide a link to the site where you found the picture.
-While not necessary, it would be greatly appreciated if large images could be resized. This will help to keep this page from getting stretched out and will load much quicker. (photoshop will be allowed for resizing)
-As always, images must abide by Gaia's Tos. Violators will receive a warning and a 10% reduction from their final score. A repeat violation will result in banning from the contest and possible suspension from the guild.
-All submissions must be made in the same post!
