Kazi sighed exasperatedly, eyes glancing down at his two sons, particularly at his oldest. There wasn't a day that went by when he didn't have to scold him, and today he just...wasn't in the mood to do so. Nothing seemed to be able to penetrate his surprisingly thick skull, reminding the lion of himself at that age. With another sigh he dropped his paw semi-gently on Ra's tail as he got in a position to pounce his brother.
"That's enough, Ra.." he said with a tone of finality in his voice. "Your mother'll kill me if I bring your brother home looking any different than he did when we left." Ra laughed aloud, play fighting with his brother as they went alongside their father. It was, he expected, another trip to the watering hole. It was where they went almost every other day, if they were with their father. And he, in particular, was always with Kazi. He narrowed his eyes, lowering his body as he watched his brother across from him. "I...wi-"
But his almost-victory was cut short when he felt his father's paw pin him to the ground by his tail. He'd tried to get out of it once before, but only ended up with an almost-limp tail. With a grunt and annoyed face he took a seat, glaring up at his father.
"Aw, c'mon dad! I almost had him!" he protested, wanting his father to let him up. "Besides, he's not that sensitive. I was only gonna pounce him.."

Aeonus sat up from where he was, looking at his father and his older brother. Oh, how he wished he was strong enough to tackle him down, just once he would. However, he was not the sort to lower another's self-esteem because he knew perfectly well that if he had tried he could have gotten his brother. While Ra'd was usually with their father, he was around the den doing something to occupy his time; mostly pouncing on anything that would move. With the play fighting he did with Ra'd, he got some getting used to the movements of another. He was learning, but in his own way. Before, as a cub, he didn't do much of anything. He would curl up into a ball and sleep as long as the day was young and then suckle on their mother for food and ate what he could. Only until recently did he become active like the day he was born.
Aeonus wasn't the one that talked much, very much silent as his father used to be before he was even born, as he was told. Shaking out his fur, he quickly got to his feet and came back to his father's side, watching his brother closely with golden eyes.
"Hey... Ra'd. Hold of until water hole?"
He murmured softly, ducking his head under his father.
This was Aeonus.

Kazi was grateful for Aeonus, for he was much less trouble than Ra. But then...his other three offspring were all much less trouble compared to Ra. They, along with their mother, were the only reason the new father managed to keep his sanity. Kazi smiled down at his white-pelted son, lowering his head to give him a small nuzzle in thanks. He was also glad to see that he'd grown out of simply lying and sleeping the day away. It was such a waste of his good looks...
"Hey," he said, eyes falling on the shimmering surface of the water in the distance. "Even when we get there, I don't want you boys to play too rough. Understand?"
Once his father released him, he laughed triumphantly and bounded ahead of them, happy to be free once more. He turned back to his younger brother and nodded. "Sure thing," he replied with a grin, walking underneath his father at this point. He didn't realize that his pace had slowed down as much as it did when he spoke, but he shrugged it aside, actually grateful for the shade.
"Hey dad, why do we go to the water hole so much anyway?" he asked, figuring it was alright to ask such a boring question. It fit his mood, though he'd only stopped play-fighting moments ago..

"Sorry. Can't make promise, can't keep," he chuckled softly and started walking a little faster, his parched throat roared at him. He needed to drink, he needed to revel in the great coolness that was just moments away, and knowing Ra'd, he wasn't going to be able to enjoy it for too long before he was thrown into another play fight.
Aeon pushed on ahead the others and reached the outer edges of the water hole, looking around to see if there was anyone else around. Strange that there wasn't any, but that just meant the entire water hole was all for them. Without waiting, he jumped on in and got as much water as he could.
"Oh! So good."
The little male smiled back at his father and went on drinking.

The large male chuckled at his son's actions, having been reminded of his younger years once again, when he was with his own parents and siblings. He pushed the semi-depressing thoughts from his mind, however, wanting this day to be, at the very least, not unpleasant. No doubt Ra would make that a bit of a challenge, but despite all of his eldest son's flaws, he loved him all the same. And, with his paw, Kazi nudged forward his dark pelted son, smiling down and nodding his approval for them to start their play fighting.
Meanwhile, Kazi positioned himself in the shade of his favorite tree, keeping an eye on his boys from afar. Even from here he knew they would here his commanding voice should they push their boundaries just a bit too far.
Ra watched as Aeonus raced toward the water and jumped in, sighing a bit and looking up at his father a few times to see if it was alright that he follow. It wasn't long before he felt his father's nudge, and without a moment's notice the young juve followed after his brother, laughing as he ran and jumped into the water - aiming for Aeonus.
No luck though, as he landed a little more than a foot away. Laughing and sputtering a bit Ra made his way to the edge of the water and hole and pulled himself out of the water, shaking the wetness off of his pelt.
"C'mon Aeonus, you're cooled off already!" he called, eyes bright and excited, waiting for his chance to dominate over his little brother in their little game once more.
