Okay, first : I live in France, not the US. This guy at my school is really REALLY Catholic, and had the attitude that 1) all gays go to hell, 2) all soldiers who fight for a non-Christian nation (like France (less than half of all Frenchmen are Christian) go to hell. Being a gay army cadet, I was pissed. I tried ignoring him, but after school the other day he opened his mouth a little too wide. Now he has a busted lip and a possibly broken nose. So, my question is: is it unchristian (I'm Unitarian) to start a fight when HIGHLY provoked, as I did?

According to the bible your not suppose to strike even when they hit you first, so yes. Personally I don't blame you though. But let me give some advice, next time he opens his mouth, remember who YOU are and be proud of it. Words can be powerful, and personally I didn't like either comment, then again I don't approve of any *Blank* will send you to hell rants. I know both subjects are very VERY touchy and I have a friend in Irag now. I don't take too kindly to people bashing my military here. The government can go to hell, but I think everyone needs to show respect to their troops.

"if someone smiteth you on the left cheek SMASH him on his right" although you may want to point out that it's anyone who fights for an unchristian cause as (aside from the Vatican) there are no truly christian nations anymore. Tu est Freancais? ton anglais est completement parfait.

I think that they shouldn't have gone into Iraq in the first place but i'm planning on shaving my head and joining up so i guess i can't talk too much s**t about them.

Well for starters Laz my friend, the President is the one dictating their actions. Not the troops themselves. Though I don't agree with the government's decisions on where to place our troops, I do still have respect for the military itself.
Also I'm usually not one to bring this up, but isn't it crazy that a Deist and a Satanist got here with our responses before any Christians?

Lazarus The Resurected Tu est Freancais? ton anglais est completement parfait. I was born in Canada and lived in America for 6 years, so I have been speaking English almost my whole life, and I've been taking French since middle school, and live thier now. Therefore I am good at both languages, but better with English. The thing is, neither is my home language. My home language is Athabascan.

So the bible says not to fight, or kill. Even though a book says its wrong it wouldn't stop me from doing either....if I had to. Violence can be used, for good. By the way I'm not Christian. I have no religion.

The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. You asked the simple question of is it unchristian. The simple answer is yes. Christians are supposed to love people, not hit them.
And I'm sure you know of the various places in the Bible that state that God is against homosexuality..so I don't see why you'd be so pissed that someone said that.
"all soldiers who fight for a non-Christian nation (like France (less than half of all Frenchmen are Christian) go to hell" In my opinion you shouldn't fight for anyone but God. If you feel called to join the army, then do so. Otherwise you're wasting time there. What with all the corruption in governments, I'd never join it.
That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.
